Mathews is as much a dumb dirt bag as the rest of his lefty friends, President Lincoln spoke of binding up the wounds, Obama's goal is to fester larger wounds. Lincoln wanted to heal the great divide in the nation, Obama seeks to make war on Christians, on God, on Values, on traditional families, he seeks to divide the nation further to further his party's lefty lust for power.

At Gettysburg, Lincoln reminded us that freedom is not free, that sometimes it comes with horrendous prices. You could say that of war or you could say that in a shattered economy, a destroyed morality, a vilified traditional way of life and a lust for perversion in the name of selfish political grandizement and power...it all has a cost and sooner or later you can reap a bounty of good or a bounty of hell. In Obama's case it will be hell for the rest of us.

Obama is not Lincoln, he's not even close. Given the failing fortunes of many Americans, including a majority of black Americans, Obama is more akin to another failure Lincoln replaced....James Buchannan.

I think that Chris Matthew's Lincoln analogies are over the top. But the rest " “He talked about the government that we want, which is infrastructure, education, regulation, all the good things, and then recognizing that government can’t solve all the problems.” are just fine with me, and have been a consistant part of the President's program since 2007. He's delivered on much of it, too.

As far as the "one took us to civil war, the other is about to" line goes....that's the kind of dispicable talk you get from the bitter lunatic fringe. Lincoln wouldn't be welcome in the modern Republican party or the remains of the tea party, where right wing poltical extremism and not so closet bigotry are considered mainstream.

The folks who subscribe to this narrow, ignorant world view have just been thoroughly repudiated at the ballot box.
