funny how if it's a gun, it's blatant murder, but when it's a knifing, it's an incident. if a driver is texting and driving and kills several people because of "driving distracted, (deliberately because you're not supposed to text and drive), it's an incident. If a child gets mauled by a dog and dies, it's an incident. Murder implies intent.

You would have to get near her first and you would have to have INTENT. According to the newspaper reports these offenders thought they were breaking into an unoccupied house with the intent on stealing guns. They were not there to rob and rape so, best option is to run away and trust to the fact that most people given only a fleeting glimpse of a robber cannot identify them later.
