Defense attorneys have released scores of new photos in the George Zimmerman second-degree murder case, including those of clothes he and Trayvon Martin wore the night they got into a fight and Zimmerman killed the teenager.

The photos were taken by Zimmerman's defense team Aug. 8 at a state crime lab and show pieces of evidence after they had been analyzed, including the hoodie with a bullet hole in it that Trayvon wore.

Other crime lab photos include the gun Zimmerman used, Trayvon's cell phone plus the Skittles and soft drink Trayvon had just bought.

There are also two new photos of Zimmerman in a cap and gown at a graduation ceremony at Seminole State College. School records show that although he went through the ceremony, he did not graduate because he failed an astronomy class in the fall of 2011.

The photos are part of a set of evidence that defense attorneys released late Tuesday to prosecutors, notifying them that they may use them at Zimmerman's trial, which is scheduled to begin June 10 in Sanford.

The 29-year-olf former Neighborhood Watch volunteer killed Trayvon, an unarmed black 17-year-old, Feb. 26, 2012, after calling Sanford police and describing the teenager as suspicious.

Zimmerman says he acted in self-defense.

In the evidence packet there also were scores of other photos, many of them released last year by prosecutors. Those include now-iconic photos of Zimmerman with a bloody nose and blood on the back of his head.

Some appear to support Zimmerman's claim of self-defense. For example, photos taken at the Sanford police station the night of the shooting show a cut across the bridge of his nose and several areas of redness – perhaps abrasions - on the back and sides of his head.

One photo of the right side of his head shows six areas of discoloration.

But police close-ups of Zimmerman's hands show no evidence of cuts or scrapes, something you might expect on someone who had just been in a fight.

Five of the photos are "frame grabs" from a security video that show Trayvon about an hour before the shooting as he bought Skittles and a soft drink at a 7-Eleven.

Defense attorneys listed the evidence turned over to prosecutors. It included items they opted not to make public because of Florida privacy laws. Those things include a half dozen autopsy photos of Trayvon plus 17 taken of him at the scene of the shooting.

The defense disclosure also includes video from several television news broadcasts, including those in which witnesses were interviewed.

You can see the texts under the pic I posted- someone said, dont end up with a bullet in the chest. I mean seriously,is the state really going to amuse me with a trial? And it shows he got suspended for fighting, lol. AHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I LOVE when I have been right from day one about this kid.

Fighting, drugs and guns.....I told ya he was a violent punk. His own mother kicked him out of her house.

 

I fail to see how any of this is relevant to the case. The only thing that's relevant is did Zimmerman act in a threatening way that would have caused Trayvon Martin to fight for his life. That's the question here. And if the answer to the question is yes then Zimmerman is a murderer. This other stuff is just a distraction.

 

Yet took money from her coworkers who donated 8 months so she could sit around and morph into the new Whitney Houston. His parents need to be thrown into the effing slammer for this fraud.

 

Just teenage hijinks. I mean what "teen" has NOT owned a semi-auto pistol and taken pics of himself toking?

bullcrap, if trayvon was into fighting, and he had a history of it, it is relevant. his drug use is also. one of the things george found suspicious was that trayvon looked like he was on drugs.....

 

Actually, the defense should be very careful with this.

demonize the victim and you create motive. motive creates intent and intent creates premeditation.

Wouldn't want someone on the stand to imply Georgie KNEW who he was hunting.

Oh enough already. The kid was swaying at the counter of the 7/11- when you see someone driving crazy do you assume they are drunk? Enough of the crap. This is so relevant whether you can grasp it or not.

 

Unless Zimmy had access to these cute pictures and Tray tray's history of violence, school suspensions and drug use, that dog don't hunt. And if he did, we should all be thanking him for ridding society of one more useless bag of bones.

You're not allowed to kill violent thugs on drugs any more than you're allowed to kill innocent children with a pack of skittles and iced tea. Fact remains that Zimmerman targeted this kid, stalked him and confronted him with a loaded weapon. At what point is Martin allowed to fight for his defense? And how far did Zimmerman go to try to scare the kid. Did he point his weapon at him? Did he threaten him in any way? If the answer is yes to any of those questions then Martin had every right to attack Zimmerman.

 

Should be good when O'Mara presents this as Zimmys' new defense ... *victim bashing* ...

You are allowed to kill anyone in self defense. It is clear that druggie Trayvon was a violent punk who attacked George.

They are so ashamed he had watermelon juice when it clearly shows he was not carrying tea. Anyone know why they are so ashamed of his drink choice?
