Half of Mississippi thinks interracial marriage should be illegal

good idea, it's not healthy for a child to grow up learning hate....all racists should do that, then pretty soon it would be bred out.

 

The title of the thread leaves out the important part that the survey was conducted using Republican primary voters only.

The title of the thread should say that 46% of Mississippi REPUBLICANS think interracial marriage should be illegal.

 

Whats the difference? Its Mississippi.

 

Odd that over 50% of the state is racist while the evil white people (that make up only 46% of the state - some of those in interracial marriages and relationships) are the sole reason for this.

What you are saying that 100% (statistical impossibility) of the whites are racist and make up the entire margin of error -- you cannot be that dense,

Can you admit that some of the percentage was made up from racists blacks?

Racism is a problem in this and every country - people do better with people that look and talk like them - thats just common knowledge. But racism comes from all ethnicities - not just the evil white people that you love to scapegoat so often.

 

Anybody wanna bet how many Mississippi blacks hold racist values? It is ok... you won't lose any money... nobody will do that study.

When you live in a culture that is embracing the future, and leading in design, architecture, and politics, we frankly do not think too much of the southeastern United States. We see so much ignorance and obstruction to progress we simply write these people off as lost. What business is it of mine if someone decides to enter a racially mixed marriage? My only caution would be that if they decide to do so, they should think about the possible disadvantages to the children. While we have made a lot of human rights progress in the last fifty years, I would want my child to have every advantage going into the competition of adult life. It would appear, though it is not necessarily true, that white children enjoy greater advantages in the United States. I would want my child to concentrate on family and career, which are much simpler without the complex problems of race.

If you think I am bad, try asking a Roman Catholic to convert to protestantism in marriage. The whole ceiling will collapse.

The disparity of the two polls, only a year apart and taken by the same pollsters, shows the seriously flawed methodology they used.

Here's a poll that doesn't appear to be politically driven that says 19% of all Americans disapprove of mixed marriages. http://www.gallup.com/poll/28417/most-americans-approve-interracial-marriages.aspx Unsurprisingly, that poll shows an age gap.

gotta love the ignorance of people who have probably not even been to mississippi, much less dont even care to bring in the factors of hispanics and blacks on this subject. black males for instance do chase white or hispanic women, and its a lot more common to see that than a white or hispanic man with a black woman. black women dont like their black male counterparts going after white women, but of course that truth will not be discussed by the hypocritical lefties on this board.

Nor will they mention that hispanic families dont very much like their sons or daughters dating black men or women very much, even as they somewhat tolerate a white person becoming part of the family they would rather it be kept hispanic. hell blacks and hispanics pretty much hate each other with a passion.

I have to drive pretty deep into Mississippi on a weekly basis, and i can tell you most of you people degrading it have not a single clue of what the hell you are talking about, just more simple minded stereotyping by the ignorant lefties who have never even truly left their front porch. Its almost as funny as Californians i have spoken too who seriously thought memphis is nothing but farm land and hillbillies.

It's okay for black and mexican's to hold racist beliefs, because they are oppressed from not getting enough welfare from the whites. I had the misfortune to live in Mississippi for two years when I was a child.

We moved shortly after there was a cross burning in a backyard two houses down from us.
