    The Klan still lives.

KKK are mostly non violent revolutionaries though, but the FBI has informants in their ranks making sure they don't become like Muslims.

Sadly they are deeply imbedded into the rural culture and history of the rural south. The Bible Belt is still pretty heavily active with the klan.

I have an interesting story about the state of black/white romantic relations that I just heard tonight.

A girl I know was at a bachelorette party. Part of it was a scavenger hunt where the bride had to find all sorts of guys and make them do goofy things.

One guy type was "dreadlocks", and when they found a guy who fit, he was black. So the bride took a picture with him and eventually the picture was sent to one of the guys at the bachelor party.

He showed the picture to the groom to be and then all hell broke loose.

The wedding was off, the groom called his fiancé a whore and all sorts of other things. She cried her eyes out because she didn't even want to take a picture with the black guy anyway but her friends made her.

The next morning they made up and the wedding was back on.

I'm not sure white women fully understand just how much hatred white men have for blacks banging white chicks.

Well, some white women do and it's a big part of the appeal.

Mississippi is one of the worst states when it comes to racism. I remember reading a story a few years back about a pastor that wouldn't allow interracial marriages in his church.

It's unfair to the children that could result. Today there's plenty of naive idealists who couldn't see how race matters in the slightest even if it hit them in the head. But it does.
Many of these children will suffer identity problems, and trouble fitting in. The answer isn't "more understanding", it's preventing this from happening. I don't believe people should just have the right to procreate however they want. Their irresponsible actions affect not only themselves, but the children.

Progressives just refuse to see it, because to do so would be to admit that there IS something wrong with their multi-racial society they want. I wonder just how many irreversible sacrifices must be made in order to try to achieve their utopian vision.

Most conservatives just ignore it. They don't want to be seen as "racists", what with all those other allegations progressives constantly throw at them from their university pulpits. And of course, there's the hands-off government approach, they don't want to be seen as hypocrites.

In any case, some interracial marriages are much worse than others, depending on the particular ethnic mix. In general, it's not a good idea.

Interracial dating also creates an unlevel playing field. Some genders from certain ethnicities are in more demand than others. From the perspective of game theory, it is a sort of prisoner's dilemma. Example: African men might have slightly better options elsewhere, but if they go outside their race it will leave African women with virtually no options. No wonder so many African American women are resentful when they see a Black man going off with another woman from some other ethnicity.

You have to prove that the 46% is all white. For all we know that number could be evenly split between whites and blacks.

According to this poll the op gives: 46% of GOP voters in Mississippi think interracial marriage should be illegal.

98% of the votes cast in the Mississippi Republican primary were by whites. I think it's fair to say that those denouncing interracial marriage aren't all black.

Strange the disparity eh? Or the OP could concede that a small sample size is not evidence of anything if he/she/it knew anything about statistics.

And once again liberals just cannot stand the fact that others don't always have the same values, beliefs, etc. as they do.

Nah, this isn't a partisan issue, its a human issue.

I am sorry that you don't seem to be able to understand that.

    Poor Mississippi needs help.

Mississippi has the lowest median income of the fifty states. Only West Virginia has lower obesity and high blood pressure rates. Only Texas has a higher percentage of folks without high school degrees and without health insurance, and only Arkansas and West Virginia have a lower percentage of college graduates. It has the second highest murder rate as well as the second highest teenage pregnancy rate, and ranks at the bottom in the quality of healthcare.

90% of white voters in Mississippi went for Romney.

That's why I said "according to this poll" :p

Anyway, I do know a little about statistics, so I decided to do some quick calculations. Their poll cites 3.8% as the confidence interval, and a sample size of 656. I can't find stats on the number of likely Republican voters in Mississippi, but this is only an approximation anyway, so let's take the estimate of how they voted in the election: 55.5% of Mississippi is thus their population size: or 1,656,634.

Given these parameters, their poll achieves a confidence level of just slightly under 95% (94.8%) - the standard confidence level for most research. If someone could find me the number of likely Republican voters in Mississippi we could know with certainty, but I trust this will suffice for now.
