I have decided never to attend a gay wedding as a wedding guest.

I consider gay marriage to be a blasphemy of one of God's sacrament, a breach in the law of nature, and a perversion of all that is good and decent in this world.

I am entitled to believe that, and I am entitled to turn down a wedding invitation in my capacity as a private citizen.

But apparently, if I am in business and provide any service related to weddings, I do not have that right.

I can be compelled to provide services to a gay wedding, I can be compelled to attend a gay wedding, I can be compelled to watch gay people engage in perverted acts which I disapprove of.

If I am a florist, I can be compelled to take my van full of flowers, and arrange them in the church or chapel, for a wedding I think is a violation of God's law.

If I am a baker, I can be compelled to bake a wedding cake with two grooms or two brides, even though it turns my stomach to do so and makes me wonder if God will damn me for such a blasphemous display of perversion and homosexuality.

If I am a photographer, I can be compelled to take pictures of the groom and groom, or bride and bride, and watch them and their family mock God and all that is natural with their perverse acts of lust for one another in open display before the community and small children.

If I own a wedding chapel that is non-religious, I can be compelled to allow these homosexual unions that bring joy to the forces of hell under my own roof, forcing me to be a participant in unholy evil.

If I am a justice of the peace, I can be forced to pretend that a same-sex marriage isn't anything more than a mockery of God, and be forced to mock God myself.

If I am a musician, I can be compelled against my will to sing and perform for sinners and sodomizers who are forcing the community to recognize their unnatural lusts as some sort of covenant before God, which it is not.

In other words, I can be compelled by force of law, to engage in activity that violates my deeply held religious beliefs, for the simple reason that I am in a business that provides services to weddings of the normal sort.

And this is wrong, and against God's laws, and cannot stand.

Nor can it stand under the First Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees to all the free exercise of religion, which includes the right not to participate in activity that violates the conscience.

And anyone who argues otherwise is an enemy of freedom, and an enemy to the Constitution, and does not deserve to live in this country, and should move to Communist China.

You literally don't have to do any of that. But we get it, you're the victim in all of this, somehow.

Just curious, where does the Bible say that if you own a business, you should refuse to do business with gays?

You're wrong. People have already brought lawsuits, and governments have already levied sanctions, against businesses who don't want to participate in homosexual blasphemies. Are you not paying attention?

    - - - Updated - - -

I would not refuse to do business with gays, if they were asking to eat at my restaurant, or go to my movie theater, or stay at my hotel.

But there is a big distinction between that, and forcing people to participate in an unholy blasphemy of the marriage sacrament.

If you don't see the distinction, then you should move to North Korea.

You don't have to participate in any gay marriage(s). And while I doubt people are suing business owners for not snapping pictures of Adam and Steve making out, no court will force you to participate in that. Furthermore, if it does come to that, wouldn't God rather have you sell your business anyway? Maybe its all a test of a faith.

Taking flowers to a wedding =/= participating in the wedding.

The only things on your list actually involve participation are the Justice of the Peace and the non-religious event center and of course they have zero right to turn down gays. Doing so is discrimination pure and simple. If you have a problem with not being allowed to discriminate then you shouldn't be in a secular position like justice of the peace in the first place.

you need to get with the times. Not only are gay activist lawyers taking the suits but the states are suing as well. They are basically telling businesses that they must do as the state dictates. And, it's up to the state to decide what before was left to free will and liberty.

    Directive 10-289 anyone?

You should really do some research. This florist has already been sued TWICE for not providing flowers to a same-sex wedding.

Interesting you did not rule out attending one as part of the couple being married.

As for the blasphemy of your gods whatever, literally hundreds of millions of alleged Christians have shown the same affront to the uber Christian by breaking their solemn promise to their god, yet I see no one trying to legislate that. Perhaps it is only an affront when gay folks offend the Christian god?

It is rapidly becoming illegal to practice the Christian religion.

It is already true that Christians are forced to purchase coverage for birth control and abortifacients.

Now Christians will be compelled to participate in blasphemous mockeries of the marriage sacrament.

    What's next?

The Romans wanted Christians to make sacrifices to their pagan gods.

    An unreasonable request?

    The Romans didn't think so.

They believed worship of the gods and fidelity to the state to be one and the same.

So Christians who refuse to worship the Roman gods were not only blasphemers, they were traitors.

And many Christians died rather than obey this Roman law to worship the Roman gods.

And it is all starting again.

Christians, in this country, will go to prison for their faith.

It is already happening to this florist.

What you're hearing is the sound of our nation circling the drain. Resistance is futile... lunatics are running the asylum.

    Oh good for you.

But Christians who refused to worship idols were not blasphemers.....

You need to brush up on your theology.

Just for curiosity, in what way is your hatred of homosexuality supported in scripture? And if you cite the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah I will put you on ignore..I won't even go to that weak and erroneous argument.

But where is it laid out as a "blaspheme"

Oh and while we're at it, can you maybe explain what is a blaspheme? "Cause I don't think a simple sin qualifies..

so how is it a blaspheme.

take your time, do some research...it's a very trick question

I could see the point if you were billing your business as specifically Christian in nature. I'm a Christian cake-baker, I use the bible as my guide, and so on -- all featured prominantly in advertising. It's another thing to opporate a secular business and then decline on the basis of religion. If religion were important, it would have been a part of the business from the beginning, not just when the gay guys walk in. And it should be across the board -- not just one or two issue. If you're running a Catholic business, you can't only be catholic on abortion and gays, you'd have to be catholic on everything.

Given all of that, sure, I think what you want makes a lot of sense.

St. Paul, in Romans 1, condemns homosexuality.

And if you put me on "ignore" I don't think I'll even know about it, so do as you will.

The New Testament does cite homosexuality as a sin. Hebrew culture of the time was not in any way accepting of homosexuality.

Trying to argue that the Bible or the culture that wrote the Bible were somehow accepting of homosexuality is really pointless.

If a person is strongly pro-gay, then Christianity, Islam, Juadism, etc probably aren't the best religions for them, just saying.

    I don't know.

Seems to me that there have been gays in this country since it was a country, yet we managed to flourish over the last two centuries.

Same sex marriage has been legal in several states for years, and yet amazingly Iowa still exists, is till full of people who work, sleep, raise their kids, and do all the otehr normal things.

Perhaps maybe gay marriage will not cause the end of the earth.

Why not just sell your business and let god handle it? That is what God would want, right?

And yet, there are those who would force Christians to participate in, attend, and provide services for same-sex weddings against their conscience.

Talk to those people, because they're the problem.

The fact that the ACLU is on the side of the gays on this issue proves that they are liars when they say they defend the Constitution.

ACLU always puts the liberal agenda above what's actually in the Constitution.

People always need a good scapegoat. In Nazi Germany it was the Jews. In this country its historically been the blacks, Mexicans, Irish, Italians etc. Now, the country is going to crap because Gay people don't have to hide their love for one another. Personally, I'm eagerly awaiting the day a Comet slams into this planet.

And I would say to you:

Move to Communist China because that's a place where people like you who hate freedom are in charge and you would be very happy there.

I'm on your side here. I think when religion is thrown into the mix, you have the right to say no to somebody. I don't know why you would, in this economy, but nevertheless you should have that right.

    - - - Updated - - -

And you could move to Saudi Arabia, or the Senegal where homosexuality is illegal an punishable by death, just like in the good ole' Bible. I'm sure you would have a ball. I said I agreed with you numbnuts

Someday they will have a wedding cake with two grooms and two brides and maybe a horse and Christians will be forced to bake that too.

Seriously- I think everyone involved is very happy in your decision.

I can remember living in the south at one point, and a very earnest young woman told me that her minister preached that it was against God's will for blacks and whites to get married. I am sure she wouldn't have gone to a mixed race marriage ceremony either- and really- wouldn't that be the best for everyone?

    - - - Updated - - -

What do you have against double weddings and horses?
