http://www.advocate.com/youth/no-mo...high-schooler-settles-ind-school-district-65k do you think this was sufficient money paid by the school district as compensation for things beyond their control? You can't stop the free will of people when they are out of your sight
Everyone should be able to control what they say. Schools are responsible for students while they're under their care.
Is dishonety your trade mark? So the teen is being bullied and abused daily. When he askes for help from the administrations, the administrations does nothing and blames him for the actions of others against him. And when he attempts to defend himself against the bullies, he is expelled. There is no honest way you could have read the article you posted and come to the conclusion in your OP.
His attorneys will probably get half of that, the IRS will get 38%... He will actually walk away with $20,150 A new car basically.
A "personal alarm device", meaning what? Pepper spray? A knife? What exactly? I'd like to see what the school considered "flamboyant" dress, but with a name like "Dynasty" you're kind of asking for trouble.
If only there were a search engine in which you could type "personal alarm device" and it would return links to information on those search terms.
I'm not wasting my time searching the interwebs for an answer. The article should have been more clear on what the sissy had to fend off the terrible band of hooligans.
Do you know of such a search engine? - - - Updated - - - And with that, any respect for you I had is gone. Can you read? Did you even bother to read the article at all? Took me two seconds to look up "personal alarm device". Pretty simple. But no, you'd rather spend your time writing BS instead. It took you longer to type that post. Oh, and what a big, macho smart guy you are calling people sissies and such.
I could care less if he was named Jasmine and came to school in shocking pink. It does not give anyone the right to touch another much like the militant lesbians who attacked the preacher. The question stands, do you think $65k is sufficient compensation for being called "gay"?
do you understand that a settlement does not mean that the accusations are in any way shape or form the entire truth? What we know is that he was insulted and much of this lopsided argument has only ONE SIDE of the story (pay note to the source). So, we know it was $65k in settlement, do you think that was sufficient?
Yes, I read it. Not a lot of detail but it sounds like the kid was picked on. I'm not saying Dynasty deserved to be abused, but young men are often abusive to outsiders. Perhaps Dynasty could have aleviated some of the consternation by dressing down. Perhaps he creeped out the other boys and they lashed out. Or maybe they were just creeps themselves.
what will be interesting is was he compensated because he sleeps with other guys? Or, can perhaps a "nerd" or an overweight fellow now expect similar compensation? Or, are the payoffs restricted just to gays?
Gays are the loudest, so they get the most protection, but it will spread. Pretty soon tugging a girl's ponytail will get a boy expelled and put on a sexual predator list, and no, I am not joking. It's coming.
read the article again, it was the schools actions, not other students that caused them the lawsuit - - - Updated - - - http://www.advocate.com/youth/end-bullying/2012/09/21/op-ed-fighting-back-after-my-bullied-son-was-expelled-school?page=full "I wanted to protect Dynasty, and found whats called a self-protection flashlighta small device that emits a light, a loud noise and a weak charge when its set offat a neighborhood convenience store."
I do not disagree with you there, the list has been abused.. and not only by adding names that never should of been on it, but also in thinking the list could replace prison time for people that are so dangerous they need to be on a list in the first place
The original post was a troll bait. He hates Jews and gays. You need to check out the ignore feature of this website so you don't get suckered in by this guy.
it's a one sided story from a gay web site. The one indisputable fact is the $65k. We do not have the details from the other side so it's basically speculation beyond that. And look at you guys go with the insults
In fairness, I've read the entire thread and do not see anything worthy of labeling you a "bigot" or "hate-filled person." You're questioning the settlement for what, in your mind, is name calling...something say...a guy with a big nose, or a girl with buck teeth...or a fat guy...or a fat girl...endures also. Name calling...kids seize on someone's imperfections and pounce like lions on a wildebeast...they attack. It's an unfortunate part of growing up.... Kids can be cruel, they can be mean, they can be downright malicious....we all know it, we all saw some forms of it when we were in junior and senior....high school...even elementary. Kids can be (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s...no doubt about it. You therefore question if a settlement like this will mean kids who are teased or called names will in turn open up the school to litigious solutions to the age old problem of kids being mean to one another. I agree with you. I think it sets a dangerous precedence for further litigation....how much can the school really control?
