No pet, they said it was in Palestine at the time, not Egypt, but it wasn't either. It didn't happen. The footage was of a feast a celibration in another country filmed 4 years earlier .....................nothing to do with 9/11. The only people I know of who said 'serves 'em right' on 9/11 were, I am afraid British ....................... .

Sorry but I'm too broke for that. Will you send me one hundred dollars for every quotation I provide of MB condemning 9/11? Morsi himself did, claiming it was not Islamic. As well, the MB have routinely denounced terrorism.

Besides, what pictures or videos would you show me that identify the MB affiliation of the celebrators as well as what they are celebrating about?

It is fantasy. That's why you can't post any proof.

I heard something about "dancing Israelis" in NY on that day but I don't know if it's true or not. The Israeli leader however said 9/11 worked out good for them!

HAHA this is great! You just admitted you would go broke if you took that wager. If you knew you were correct you wouldn't have worried about losing any money. Nice Freudian slip. :)

You're the only one who mentions this fantasy. If this footage were so common, you would think you could cite it in less effort than you make continuous empty posts without it.

Sugar, flavor, a bit of water, but unfortunately, NO PROOF for your claim. Can you spare any?

No actually. Read it again, and actually consider the language. You offered a hypothetical. IF you showed such evidence, then I wouldn't be able to send you. I clearly explained how unlikely that is.

It's like saying, if I were to grow a second head, would you be able to grow a third arm? I would have to say no, because even if you miraculously did grow a second head, I doubt I could grow another arm.

You asked a yes/no question. I couldn't answer yes, because I don't have the cash.

Now why don't you stop playing silly games and show that proof.

WHO (*)(*)(*)(*)ING CARES? I never even said anything about who owns them or not. How much does tea cost in China? Any chance of addressing the arguments and questions that actually relate to the topic? I have reduced everybody to playing silly games, providing evidence in the form of an emoticon, and distraction red-herring about who owns a press company.

The Egyptian economy grew by 7% annually in the three years leading up to the global financial crisis of late 2008. Even during the depths of the global crisis, the country's GDP growth was a healthy 5%. Since the first quarter of 2011, when the successful movement to oust former president Hosni Mubarak began, GDP growth has slowed to around 2.5%, according to a report from the World Bank published in May 2012.

    EGYPT DEATH TOLL: Passes 600

EGYPT'S CRACKDOWN: 5 things to know

That data foreshadowed what would happen to the Egyptian economy since last summer's elections and the recent ousting of President Mohamed Morsi by a military-led coup. The economic situation is not improving, and the political situation that has so far claimed the lives of nearly 1,000 people is getting worse.

Where's the video per your standards? There's no visible banner or spare weapons. If he's distributing weapons, how come he's driven past people who clearly don't have weapons?

The "government" created a state of chaos by starting a massacre and crackdown on peaceful protestors. AQ ALWAYS flood into any ME/NA country where chaos and opportunity for mayhem erupt. If you want to support the crackdown then fine, but don't sit here complaining about the consequences of it.

You are just pulling pictures and making up your own stories and captions for them. Any idiot can do that.

    Here's my caption:

But different.. Why blame MB when it was AQ? There's no need to jump on the "automatically scapegoat MB for every single naughty thing that ever happens in Egypt" bandwagon.

Not even the children? No regard for peaceful and unarmed protestors? What about the journalists. Will you mourn for them? Why do you think the police targeted and killed journalists?

So peaceful protest is against the law? Because they SURE didn't let them carry on, even though they weren't hurting anyone.

Oh yeah, and you can sit here and say they are the only ones who can restore law and order, first of all, no they can't, because they have created too much hate after the massacre and have spawned too much anger. It's either negotiation or civil war. And secondly, THEY ARE THE ONES who sparked the chaos and disorder.

    True. But they aren't MB.

Of course, Marlowe thinks MB and AQ might be sister organizations. But the mosque held many protestors, not just MB. Not all protestors are MB. And (only according to "government" authorities, they nabbed one single AQ guy from there (and made up a conspiracy story which of course people take straight to the bank w/o proof)) This hardly proves an alliance.

Until there's real proof, the AQ banner proves it was AQ, not MB. This is simply a parade of unsubstantiated scapegoating blame.

I posted a source that is a news article, but that wasn't good enough, even though they can't name a single example for why that source is not credible (but they quibble about the name/location of the source). I'm required to have video. But they just post random pictures, cite no sources, and just make up their own captions and stories to attach to those pictures that otherwise are inconclusive. Of course, there's no proof or source for the narrative. I can do that too!

I don't know if you were around in the other thread but I conceded the point, saying if it's not good enough then nevermind, because the same argument was supported by multiple other things (which were all ignored in favor of one particular cherrypicked one)

It was the only source I was asked for and I provided it.

Unlike everybody else I've been debating with on this topic.

I can't believe the same people that try to pick on me for my source themselves do NOT provide a source, even when asked! Even when attribution is required on account of quotation! They ask me questions while refusing to answer questions, etc.

I've spent hours on this conversation and I'm simply getting brushed aside by cop-outs. I've defended my every word and readers can notice that.

But think of where the pro-"government" people get their information. It's filtered by fatal force, by the "government" police, who obviously have a conflict of interest regarding which footage gets out or not. How's about that for paying the messenger? This is an uncomfortable point that nobody has the guts to confront.

I could ask "Why do the Egyptian police target and kill cameramen" to a dead chicken and be more likely to get a response.

That is not what Marlowe was saying at all. He is saying that terrorism is infiltrating into Egypt through the protesters. Whether they are accomplices or just being used is another matter. I should imagine it is a bit of both.

I believe the photos we were shown of dead children are some of the same ones we were shown of dead children in Syria and even possibly of Palestine. Of Syria though they are most certainly the same so we must be a little wary of these shock tactic of The News .......sells papers and what nots ....................

That there have been deaths we cannot doubt but we are not there we cannot know who or where or what.

Certainly not, but the events are being viewed here in the US through a very Islamophobic eye.

People, especially those on the right and the far right, tend to look at this based on the assumption that the Muslim Brotherhood is some sort of cohesive pan Islamic power. It's the caliphite myth. Lumping all Islam into one group and then characterizing that group through the lens of Al Quida and the MB is what these people do.

And American media is so parochial and ratings obsessed that it penders to this narrow and inaccurate world view rather than informing its audience.

The army ousted him. Your ' Egyptian people ' rates as poor camouflage for a military coup. The Egyptian people voted him in.

You know this Fitz and I know this, which just by a natural knee jerk against them aligns us with the MB but oddly I have found myself on the same side as the US Right a few times over the last few years, though for completely opposite reasons.

It doesn't really matter what we think though does it and I don't think the Egyptians care anymore what we do think. They have been manipulated by The Empires for so long but seem to have lost their fear ................. good for them and as for the MB moderates, I think they left a long time ago Egypt was going down a path with little moderation, imho :) xxxx

None of that is proven. AQ, or ANYONE for that matter, can find their way into the crowds. There is no proof whatsoever that AQ were let in by protestors, or are accomplices with protestors, let alone with MB specifically.

AQ wouldn't even like MB because MB denounces terrorism. I could just as easily argue that AQ were let in by, or working for the military "government".

I mean they cite an AQ flag to try to prove MB as the culprit??!?! I mean that indicates a lot closer to AQ being the culprit, don't you think?

It's just scapegoating. Every little bad thing that happens (besides the horrific atrocities committed by the police which they ignore) is summarily blamed on MB, based on knee-jerk conclusion jumping.

And now they want to blame the MB for the presence of AQ in Iraq! AQ go wherever is destabilized and always exploit the chaos. That's why they LOVE the chaos. The Egyptian police prompted the chaos and that's a fact. It is more realistic to blame them for the presence of AQ in Iraq. People shouldn't support the crackdown and then whine about the natural consequences.
