A federal government shutdown would be a great thing. It would force our Congressmen home where they would spend their money on local drug-dealers and prostitutes, instead of the ones in DC. This would stimulate the economy at the state and street level so I say, bring on the shutdown!

You can't call something a failure that hasn't even started yet. The conservatives aren't afraid that the ACA will fail and hurt Americans, they are afraid it will succeed.

I guess we will see in a few years who was right, because the ACA isn't going anywhere. Time to accept it.

Absolutely, I "support" letting the ACA go through, because when it does and it collapses, this country will learn a painful lesson: Namely that the Founders were right and that self-determination is the only way of governance. When the collapse occurs, I want our congress to write into law that NO political party may write a bill that otherwise distorts or forces the private market and citizens to allot their resources in a way not in their best interests.

Lol. The Republicans demand that they get everything they want and refuse to budge.

But it is the Democrats' fault that the 1/2 the Republicans are slobbering at the mouth for a government shutdown, and the other 1/2 are recalcitrant self-indulgent hyper partisans?

Good luck using that to get elected...

Let's say you get what you want. How do you see that 'stop' part working, exactly?

Will jack-booted govt agents put a padlock on their door, or will all FN employees be sent to prison camps, accused of being traitors? Will they be forced out of biz, or allowed to continue with a warning to toe the govt line.

Tell me, how would YOU stop Fox News if you had the power? Exactly what are you proposing?

They're trying to keep it open and they asked it be delayed for a year, not recinded, which Obama refuses to do, but he himself, which he has no authority to do has without Congress delayed some aspects of his POS law 19 times now.

Does anyone actually think that the will stop at one year? (*)(*)(*)(*) no.

The dems should budge 0% on the ACA. It's nonnegotiable.

I'd pass a rather simple law that says its illegal to report knowingly false or distorted "NEWS" and that there is a clear distinction made between news reportage and biased partisan opinion. this would naturally apply to all media, not just fox.

I'd suggest a balance between pro and con coverage, but that implies that for every issue/event there is equivalency in both arguments, which in many cases is non-existent.

Fine. Don't budge. But it won't end well for the GOP. In every single poll taken on the topic American's (including republicans polled) agree that they are unwilling to shut down the government over Obamacare. If the GOP keeps up this completely pointless crusade they are going to take the fall.

which is what they are claiming they will do, all the while ranting out of the side of the mouths about Obama and the Dems not willing to compromise or negotiate. cute.

That's a lie!!! It's Obama and Reid that are threatening the shutdown. Reid said so himself.

Again. All the Republicans want is everything.

(*)(*)(*)(*) them. It's time to stop negotiating with the t-party terrorists.

You know, you'd have a point IF the President and the other Dems were placing demands as well.

And what demands have Obama and Reid place on keeping the government open?

    Not a thing.

It's just another lame attempt by the right-wing at a false equivalency.

Nobody is forcing the Republicans to hold the government hostage BUT the Republicans and their t-party constituents.

Only the Kool-Aid drinking low-info right-wing hacks truly believe that this is anything that even remotely resembles a situation that is reasonable on both sides.

In the end it's the GOP who is trying to hold Obama's landmark legislation hostage. One of the commentators on Meet the Press said something along the lines of this this morning,

It would be different if they had the baby and were demanding the money. In this case they have the money and are demanding the baby. Obama isn't going to give them his baby.

    - - - Updated - - -

And that's obamacare funding. Which was the exact opposite of my point. He claimed they weren't willing to negotiate on anything.

Obama also said he would not negotiate on the debt ceiling or anything he said.

The people who will actually shut down the gov't are Harry Reid and Barack Obama in that order.

Obama's ego is too huge. He's no leader. Leaders negotiate and figure out how to work with people. Obama has no experience and no clue how work with people. His history shows this. He only gets along fine with people who share his view. And we elected this fool. EVERY problem with Obamacare is Obama's fault. Every one, because it was his idea. He rubber stamped it. He Ok'd it. Its him. He's more dictator than leader. Shows it every day, because if he had the ability, he'd prefer the dictator role. You need only listen to him. Its in almost every word.

Most of the country doesn't want Obama care or don't even understand it. Look at the polls. Most of congress doesn't understand it. They want exemptions. THAT's all that matters. If the people voting for it, don't get it or don't want to abide by every part of it, you can't pass it. PROOF positive its a failure.
