The individual mandate was not "Obama idea", it was and still is, contrary to their vehement pleas, a conservative idea.

There's nothing affordable about the ACA. What attitude that makes me sick is those who think the government needs to provide everything to them.

Shut 'er down, Bozo. Doesn't matter who you blame, you own 100% of the disaster that is Obamacare. If you had any sense, you'd be the one agreeing to at least postpone the sinking of your titanic.

Congress does the spending. It is true that the President has some effect on the budget, but Congress is the purse strings. Also, spending has gone down over the past 4 years.
Most Americans don't want the government shutdown over Obamacare and they blame the GOP. The GOP has gone nuts.

GOP voters are behind the party's stance. In fact, we're damn glad to see them standing up for our values for a change. The only people who will blame the GOP for a govt shutdown are people that hate them anyway. Who cares?

Spending has gone down? Only compared to the same spender's spending, not to past administrations spending. It is still the highest in history. That is like buying a Rolls Royce on credit one year and a Bentley on credit the next and making the claim you are saving money.

The GOP is split. The Tea Party members of the GOP are all for shutting down the government. The moderate GOP is not for shutting it down. There is no doubt that the GOP is divided and this won't play out well for the party during the next few elections.

I know I want affordable health care, and I also know that Obama care will never deliver that. It will likely only help to raise prices, in fact, but of course those in favor of the ACA are only thinking about what premiums will cost, kind of like how people tend to think more about the size of their payments than the overall amount they owe for something they've taken out a loan to purchase.

Actually, no one is for shutting down the government, just Obamacare.

Rejecting an unreasonable demand is not a demand. Are hostage negotiators unreasonable because they won't give the hostage takers $1,000,000 and a helicopter?

Well, if the Repubs wanted the same things that the Dems want there wouldn't be a fight. So the Repubs need to change their attitude.

So you think health care should be restricted to billionaires. Thanks for sharing.

according to Obama anyone who makes over about 70,000 a year is a millionaire or billionaire. I base this on the Obamacare premiums.

The Repubs had just as much time as the Dems to come up with a health care plan. They didn't because they hate the idea of poor people having access to medical care. Their health care plan consists of "if you get sick hurry up and die" strategy.

Maybe in the future they will participate in writing major legislation that affects the entire nation instead of sitting on their behinds collecting their government checks and bribes.

LOL, poor people have access to medical care, just not insurance. Where have you been? Obamacare helps the insurance companies, not the people.

If you're sick then the ACA is just the thing for you because it doesn't have any preexisting condition exclusions.

The good news is that the Dems don't need the Repub voters.
