Then of course you are enabling the people who do kill animals, because you are giving them a market place for said dead animals.

Walmart makes more money every second than I've spent there in my lifetime - so if I pick up meat there once a week, the real amount I contribute to the meat market is so insignificant you'd need an electron microscope just to view it. My farts probably contribute more significantly to global warming

For that matter though, there are Freegan communities which live entirely 'off the grid' - ex. they eat thrown away meat out of dumpsters (which would otherwise just rot) - so they don't contribute to the meat market at all, therefore there's no logical way at all how a Freegan eating meat of an animal which is already dead contributes to the meat market.

Though a guy who's admitted to hunting and killing animals with his bare hands/guns isn't really in a place to be lamenting an 'animal holocaust' which he actively participates in.

So by your logic it's ok to murder, say, JUST ONE person, one time in one's life only, because that would be "so insignificant you'd need an electron microscope just to view it" compared to the millions and millions of people who have been murdered (out of the 100 billion people who have ever lived.)

Eating meat which is already dead isn't "murdering" anyone - anymore than farting is "killing people with carbon emissions" - you can't kill what's already dead.

Read above - you can't kill what's already dead. By your standard, people should just commit mass suicide to prevent themselves from farting since even a single fart contributes a tiny bit to global warming.

Even still, you can't objectively have a problem with a Freegan eating meat out of a dumpster, since they didn't pay for it, and therefore don't contribute to the market at all (even in an significant amount).

I'd say a bigger irony is someone admitting to having hunted animals themselves ranting about a "holocaust of animals" - that's more close to your analogy (ex. a person who's murdered 'just 1 person' acting like it's no big deal).

I believe many many Germans were CHRISTIANS, and the Bible says that Jews are going to hell, so they, like Hitler/Jesus, were discriminatory against the Jews. That's one reason why they didn't stand up to that atrocity.
I would expect more from the "all-knowing Jesus" that I would expect from ordinary humans. But Jesus let us down. He's no role model......and probably nothing more than a legend anyway.

Well Christians did a reasonable job of saving Jews during the Holocaust - so maybe it wasn't a complete fail

The meat is only killed because you pay for it. If you buy a chicken that chicken was killed for you.

If I paid for teh head of anyonewho wears a baseball cap on backwards it would be no less murder just because I paid post factum.

No it was killed because Walmart paid a butcher to cut the meat so they could stock it on the shelves for their customers - not because of me - I payed for Walmart to hand me a piece of meat which they'd already paid to be killed - I didn't pay for it to be killed.

No if you paid someone to hand you the head of a person wearing a baseball cap backwards - who had already paid for said person to be killed, you would not be paying for them to be killed, since they were already dead.

I know that "holocaust" is not the best word in context with mass-murder on human beings on reasons of racism like for example the mass-murtder on Armenians and the mass-murder on Jews. Rassism is by the way in Germany also a wrong word if I watch what had happened here. To call Germans 'Aryans' is also completly wrong and so on and so on. Meanhwile nearly no one knows any longer the roots of the word Holocaust and so it became a name for the shoa everyone is able to live with. Indeed Jews under Hitler looked like all other Germans - and antiquated forms of antisemitism were intentionally reactivated and combined with scientific theories about races and biology and leaded into the gigantic industrial complex of death "Endlösung der Judenfrage" = "final solution of the Jews question". No need to say that "Jews question" was also not a real question. Something like a "solution of the animal question" is not existing in any sense what we call "Holocaust" today. That's nonsense and a trying to discriminate the victims of the Holocaust.

Nevertheless the living conditions of lots of animals on planet earth have to become much more better and I agree with you that human beings are often worser than the worst barbars. But that's not the center of every heart.

If a person doesn't want to eat animals then he can always chop pieces of his own body off to eat. Say he starts with a foot. Then he can chop a few inches off of the leg until he reaches his hip. Then he can repeat the process on his other leg. After that he can do one of his arms. Then he can do his ears. So he should save the animals and just eat himself a few inches at a time.

I shot a deer a few years ago, on a ranch owned by a friend. The deer were everywhere, eating the crops and etc. A couple of years later, a disease epidemic went thru and decimated them, as is predictable with an overpopulation.

All the meat, of course, went to waste.

There was nothing immoral or unethical about killing that deer, For that matter, if more had been killed, it probably could have prevented the epidemic.

Everyone has a responsibility to ethically and intelligently relate to all of the life forms on earth,to the best of their ability.

How do you rate yourself on that?

No, if person A (Walmart) paid person B (butcher) to kill 'someone' (animal)...

...and I paid person A (Walmart) for a piece of the meat which person B (butcher) had already killed regardless of me - the animal would have been dead regardless of whether I paid for the meat or not, so I didn't 'pay for its death'.

I think there are laws that would prevent a person from possessing the remains of a dead person illegally, but possessing those remains would not be "murder" - and these laws obviously don't apply to possession of animal meat.

Pure harsh reality. The animal was dead regardless of whether I bought the meat or not - I just paid for the dead meat, I didn't "pay to have the meat killed"

And if everyone in America voted for Ron Paul he would save the universe

No I'm indirectly responsible, but again Walmart makes about $80,000 per second, so if I spend about $10-15 on meat every 2 weeks or so, my contribution is too insignificant to care.

But if it makes you feel better, I'll consider just hanging outside the dumpster behind Walmart, and taking home steaks that get tossed there on the very day of their expiration date, and eating those - since I'm not paying for them at all

Nonetheless, if you keep going back and paying for carcasses, I doubt any court in the world would disagree that you were involved in the killings.

It's very amusing and a great insight into your motivations, that you will contort yourself in such a way in order to avoid even such an inconsequential little admission as being a party to the slaughter of animals that you eat. No wonder discussion with you is such an uphill struggle in debates over more meaty (pun intended) topics.

Hitler was Catholic. Read his speeches. Refrain from posting on the subject until you do.

If you pay taxes to the US (or any other) government you become a party to all killings involved in wars, ploice actions and drone strikes. Even a child who sometimes buys taxable items becomes a party to state killings such as shooting suspects and executions.
When you eat even a small fruit or vegetable you might be responsible for the death of some small animal whose life could have been extended with one more meal.
I used to postpone mowing the grass as long as possible to avoid exposing worms to birds.

In a sense, I suppose. But possibly an unwilling party, participating only under threat of force.

If he's Catholic, then he's in Hell since he was in mortal sin, and there's no evidence he confessed to a priest before he died
