Seems to me the biggest fear of the Tea Party is that Obamacare will suceed. If they really thought it would fail they would let it go insuring that conservatives would be proved right. Then it could be repealed, the opponents credibility would be enhanced and their ideas for reform more likely to be adopted.

Fine. Then you must think any Republican measure sure to fail should be left unopposed by Democrats in order to accomplish the same thing.

I think the bigger worry is fairness and the underlying concept of looking into the future costs. I am actually from a democrat lower-middle class family and I do not have good health insurance. But I mostly agree with the Republican views and think it should be delayed and negotiated. I dont think its right nor do i want other people paying for my healthcare to that extent. I know that this policy will help some people in bad positions but it also will hurt other people at the same time. And in the long run it will only hurt everyone. Healthcare costs are already sky rocketing and this policy will only cause it to increase more. These costs will be spread to the people sooner or later. I think that a better approach would be to find ways to slow down increasing healthcare costs or lower the costs so that people can afford them under current conditions. We live in a world of limited resources unfortunately so things like this are really more fantasy than practical IMO.

We don't want Obamacare to succeed. If it does, it will destroy healthcare for many. My premiums are doubling starting in January directly due to Obamacare. The letter I received from BCBS specifically blamed the ACA. It is a disaster.

Health care costs are going downward for everybody else. Numerous links which prove that have been posted on this website. More coverage - more lives and money saved! Patriotic Americans want that. **********s do not.

Honestly, I would if I still had it. See, I just had BCBS for about 7 months since I was laid off. My new employer's plan will start covering me next month, so I don't have to worry about the BCBS premiums that kick in come January. Believe me, it is going up to $850/month from $440/month, and it specifically said due to the provisions in the Affordable Care Act. I chucked the letter since it won't apply to me. However, I expect my co-premiums from my new employer to go up significantly once the waived year has passed for employers.

People who previously had no healthcare may be able to afford one of the Obamacare plans, but that is squarely on the backs of us who have had insurance all along. We are paying for the newbies with increased premiums. You don't just add millions of folks to a plan where pre-existing conditions are covered, and big kids up to age 26 are covered, without somebody paying for it. Another form of wealth redistribution.

No, it won't. What it will do is, force Ins co to lower their prices or face losing their customers to the Obamacare program.

But at this stage do you know if that is true or is that an excuse the insurance company is using to accumulate a lot of funds since no one, including them actually knows what the outcome will be?

Or maybe they want to accumulate the funds because their accountants are good enough to smoke the 80% payback rule?

Disclaimer, I am a ferriner so have no skin in this game. But what do you critics of the ACA say about various liberal's claims that you have been paying all along anyway every time an uninsured person goes to an ER? And how those costs tend to be higher both because ER costs are higher than a doctor's office or clinic cost and because the uninsured tend to wait till a problem has become critical before going to the ER and therefore the cure costs more at that point.

Exactly their point. You are paying for that now. So will the ACA really impact on you that much?

All OECD countries that have universal healthcare, or similar, seem to be profitable.

Tea Partiers seem to want Obama to fail more than they want the USA to succeed.

That is certainly not proof that President Obama has plans to destroy the USA.

a FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION of the USA.....points to its REPLACEMENT as it currently stands...and that would DESTROY..THIS Nation......

THAT and his epcally dangerous failure of a heathcare plan is just about all the evidence one would need were on not sucking back all that Obaba Kool Aid..

"Fundamental transformation" doesn't mean "replacement" whatsoever... even when you capitalize it.

Why would you be against Obama giving Americans what they voted for?

Fundamental means from the ground up......

the fundaments.....the GUTS....the very concepts of a given thing

    TRANSFORMATION to CHANGE.....

    a FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION

when one CHANGES the FUNDAMENTS of a given thing or concept one has in fact REPLACED IT

The state of Israel gets their universal health care off our backs as well. Same for Iraq:

And, of course, there is the little matter of corporate elites being given a free ride for decades without objection from the far right.

We'll see. So far, nothing but major premium increases.

It may be because they know they are being forced to cover pre-existing conditions, and big kids with their parents through age 26.
