How ironic it is that so many of these right wing frauds call themselves Christian but ignore the Bible's teaching that it will be easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle before a rich man can enter the Divine Kingdom. Too bad their day of reckoning will be in the future rather than now.
The same people the democrats represent, the rich/elites, who put them in the positions they are in and bribe them until the day they die, or go to prison. And how many professional politicians are in prison? I'm sure the number is less than 1% of the criminals who hold office in both parties.
Dems and GOP both do that. Neither represents me nor anyone else trying to work and earn a living. - - - Updated - - - Their record says otherwise.
Im guessing that the reason your poll went your way.. with SO FEW votes being cast overall.....is that most people read the question and knew full well what a crock it was. John Kerry....Bela Pelosi....any Kennedy.... POOR FOLKS....all... yep
The GOP conservatives represent all who support individual freedoms and liberty. Dems are neo-Communists who support getting free rides and having total government control over everyone's lives. When is the last time you heard a Democrat say, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country?" Dems are gun-grabbing, baby-killing, anti-Christian and anti-White racists.
It used to be that the GOP was pretty good at counting the beans and saying 'no'. Now they say 'no' only to the poor so they can always say 'yes' to the rich. And the mathematics of the bean count has been replaced with the ideology of the bean count. They've come a long way.
I think that was very true back in the day when "enough people had enough" and were actually doing the deciding as to what was enough. Now people are looking at the numbers and figuring out that the rich are telling them how much is enough and (except for the corporate patriot Tea Partiers who will always be looking for a pat on the head), are not being very gracious about it.
And once again it is obvious you didn't read a damn thing I wrote. Fine. You don't have to. And I don't have to sit here and read your ridiculous one-line retorts. I said nothing about the very rich needing "relief" of any kind; on the contrary, I said they need to be forced to pay their fair share of all taxes. That, evidently, went completely over your head. What a drag it must be to be you, poor fellow....
Well, I wouldn't say "only" or "exclusively," I would say "MOSTLY," but their lower middle class or blue collar workers base is too fascinated by the spinning and lies that they don't realize that, by supporting the GOP, they are only being used to support the wealthiest class.
Stock market did well today, and probably improved your portfolio. Pop the expensive champagne and enjoy! You think rich people are taxed too much. I got it the first time.
The stock market "did well" for the same reason that it has done "well" for the last six years: the Federal Reserve System continues to pump hundreds of billions into banks and the Wall Street casino, and, with its great "victory" over Conservatives, the socialist Obama regime is once again free to continue its reckless, irresponsible spending splurge by sending the country even further into a death-spiral of deepening endebtedness. Oh, but I'm sure you already knew that, too... right...? Hint: Spending is a necessary and good thing -- IF it is spent on things that generate growth and improvement. Simply throwing billions and billions of dollars at a growing parasite class contributes nothing to lasting growth or real improvement of anything.... The ethos of a parasite: "Suck it until it's dry. Then, go find something else to go suck on!"
Yes...we should just let the parasite ultra rich corporate types, suck it dry. Just keep giving the rich more of what they don't need. The ethos of a bloodsucking elitist, whining about what some poor person might be getting to simply survive.
Yes...I'm quite aware of all the money being pumped into Wall Street and their gamblers that Joe Taxpayer had to bail out. Instead of printing up that currency and handing it out to the super wealthy Wall Street bandits, maybe they need to start passing it out to Joe Taxpayer, instead.
I don't see how anyone in their right mind could interpret your last paragraph as anything but a condemnation of how the current tax code is skewed heavily toward the rich. But I suppose some people see only what they want to see. Much of our so called "progressive" tax code is undermined by loopholes, shelters & write offs you mentioned which are generally out of reach of middle class citizens, except when selling a home or drawing income from retirement funds. I've taken advantage of many of the deductions, exemptions, capital gains, etc.myself, although not to the extent that the 'ultra rich' milk the code.
Easy the stench of a decaying Middle class of America and their Capitalist Masters ,as far as the Tea-Party ,included open Fascist's, In God nut garb!
MIracle of miracles! I actually think that we may agree on something after all! Now! What must Joe Taxpayer do to get Comrade Obama to champion the cause of completely re-writing the U. S. Tax Code so that it is FAIR to middle-class taxpayers? He has completely triumphed over the spineless GOP morons in Congress -- so who would stop him? The same "limousine liberals" who tell him when and how to do everything?
The rich need the same thing everyone needs: their due. That means no subsidies, no limited liability, no too big to fail, no intellectual property - just as much as it means no taxation.

The rich benefit tremendously by the conduct of the state.
Currently the GOP controls the House of Representatives which represents the current thinking in the U.S. which is to vote for conservative economic policies.
I'm not in the business of deciding who needs what. The rich are entitled to what is theirs, but it's inconceivable that what they currently have is actually theirs. Significant fractions of their profit results from collusion between business and government. Furthermore, a portion of their conduct is illegitimate in itself, ie: the state of the banking system. Saying that someone needs profit is about as silly as saying people need soap boxes. We should refrain from restricting free speech, but people are not entitled to a platform on CNN. Similarly, we should refrain from restricting the exclusive use of person and property (labor and the fruits of that labor), but people are not entitled to the financial benefits of subsidies, market restrictions in their favor, limited liability, corporate personhood, etc. I really do think that parts of the left and parts of the right can come together and agree on a lot of stuff, especially when it comes to corporate control. Remember, we're all in it for the same thing: freedom and prosperity.
