After 'Duck Dynasty' star suspension, Sheriff Miller tells A&E they are not welcome

It's high time for this. Why 96.5% of the population even care what offends 3.5% is beyond me. I can only hope Phil Robertson and & Co decide to move their top rated show to another network and shoe A&E there is a price to pay for their foolish political correctness. Duck Dynasty WAS A&E #1 top rated show, it will be picked up by another well known network who has the brains to realize what a money maker the show was.

More people tuned in to watch Duck Dynasty than the entire LGBT population in the U.S. But why would they make such a move against Duck Dynasty's star? One only needs to look at who they made the biggest political donations to in 2008.

The good folks in Douglas County Georgia need to support Sheriff Phil Miller, he's living proof that if a person doesn't stand for something, they'll fall for anything.

If you are a Conservative or Christian, just stop watching A&E. Eventually that will fix the problem.

Nice to see a member of law enforcement cited the alleged ramblings of a Jewish priest in his decisions regarding law enforcement.

Is part of his office to be the morality police? Decide what is moral and what is not? Who has sinned and who has not?

 

What people don't seem to understand that just because people aren't homosexual or black they might find what that guy said to be inappropriate. This sheriff can make all the statements he wants. Of course the guy wasn't fired he was suspended. But please stop watching A&E and perhaps they will give up on shows like this and start going back to doing real TV

 

AETN is a privately owned company, they can do as they wish. It's their investments funeral.

 

AE is owned by two organizations that last year had revenue totaling about $60 billion so the few million they make off of Duck guys is a line item. But this did do two things. 1. It made people go out an buy merchandise which they get a piece of and 2. Will cause many more people to peek into the channel when they use to blow by it. I think they will be fine.

Whether A&E part ways or not, almost all networks are going towards reality shows. they are cheap to produce and have low threshholds to meet the break even point. If you tink not watching A&E is going to force said company to go back to ?real TV" then you are gravely mistaken.

You don't understand advertising. What the can collect from ALL their advertisers depends on their over all viewership as well as the viewership of each individual show.

Please source the $60 billion revenue you cited.

A&E is owned by Disney and the Hearst Corporation (each has a 50% share). Disney had a 2012 profit of $5.7 billion.. Hearst is a privately held company and does not report it's earnings. However it owns 100% of ESPN and these other properties

A & E's desperate attmept to run from the biggest BUSINESS BLUNDER in their history is now MOOT, as they have CAVED, COMPLETELY, in the face of the FINANCIAL and PR REALITIES of the situation: the ROBERTSON's do not need A & E to continue MAKING MILLIONS; A & E will LOSE HINDREDS of MILLIONS, if the Robertsons take their show somewhere esle.

We see how "deep" A & E's "commitment" to the LGBT cause, and Media Attack Apparatus runs, don't we?

Yeah. I came to that conclusion when I went over the cable bill and realized that the one channel I almost always had to have wasn't running a damned thing I wanted to see. When they start running Pawn Stars marathons and you can't even find an old episode of Modern Marvels, it's time to stop paying for the History Channel.
