So was my health insurance, and this year it went up $6/month, that's one of the smallest increases I've ever seen, and looking at the whole country, since ObamaCare was passed, we have had the three smallest increases in health care costs of the last 50 years.
So ObamaCare is already saving you money, or saving your parents money......

You have got to be kidding. The shrill is from the right based on hope for failure.

You do not have to believe this but I see ACA improving.

More than 90% have an opinion about the Affordable Care Act, even though 66% of Americans state that the law has not affected them so far, says Gallup Editor-in-Chief Frank Newport.

Most people will pay more and get less except for the usual leeches who don't pay anything.

Paying more is bad enough but when average Americans can no longer quality care they will curse Obama's name.

Fail. MSA are only good for the rich or those who do not get sick. And excluded people from paying their share of society's costs.

Is a small percentage of the health care costs and it is more about protecting providers (especially the scam artists and the incompetent providers). It does nothing to help patients.

Only rightists in Red State corrupt monopolies think this is a good idea. Blue States have established protections for their citizens against scam artists. Any insurer can sell within Blue States if they meet the requirements.

One would hurt patients and the only 2 do not bring down health care COSTS.

Not a news flash. Nobody, but you, cares about you screwing up your car insurance. Even those who sue you for your reckless driving will still get something out of your hide.

Also any car insurance that you get has to comply with your state's requirement. And that is what we have been saying about health insurance plans. You want insurers to be able to sell in a state without abiding by the state's regulations. That doesn't help overall costs and can hurt many people. You go at everything from the point of view of the business and not by any concern about the people.

    Failed again.

And it is today. But that was not the case for the majority of Americans in 2008.

Healthcare was OK for most Americans in 2008.

Obama sold them a lie by making people think that someone else has bad healthcare even though theirs was fine.

No, it wasn't. When my insurance company pre approved a medical procedure for me, then denied my claim after it was performed ($20,000), healthcare was not OK back then. I had to fight them for three months and threaten them with legal action to get them to pay up. That procedure was the first of three. Since I had to fight them for three months, the first procedure came undone and had to be repeated (another $20,000). And this is Blue Cross/Blue Shield we're talking, and I was on the top tier plan.

Healthcare was NOT OK in 2008. Stop trying to BS me. I've been through it. It's terrible.

    You are just one person.

I have never had that happen to me nor have most Americans.

That has happened to a lot of people, not just me. There was no reason for that to happen to me. I was on their plan for 12 years and paid for the best. Maybe we would have better numbers if insurance companies kept records.

2008 election issues: 57% economy (duh, the Wall Street collapse), 13% war in Iraq, 13% health care, 10% terrorism.

Americans think the U.S. health care system is in need of major repairs, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll.

Nine out of 10 say the system needs at least fundamental changes, including 36 percent who favor a complete overhaul.

That would be an extremely smart move but I know the GOP.

You know just because you repeat it mindlessly, it doesn't make it true, it must be sad hoping that your country fails.....

Step 1. Come up with 3 minimum standard groups for individual states to vote on and an opt out. Whatever group a state votes for the insurance companies that want to provide insurance across state lines must meet those criteria. Opt out allows the state to set more strict guidelines or set none.

Step 2. Nobody HAS to purchase insurance. Until they cannot pay for the medical bills they have accrued. Then the medical bills are taken over by the government and are treated like school loans.

Step 3. Define insurance. (Covering in an eventuality or possibility) Define welfare. (Covering what has already occurred) Educate people on the difference. Pre-existing conditions cannot be covered by new insurance.
Step 1 could determine what conditions would allow an insurer to drop a client.

    I'm combining posts here:

So you're suggesting that if insurance company A has their set of rules and insurance company B has a slightly different set of rules that their competition isn't the same? Remarkable. Let's try it this way: I have two electronics retailers in my home town. Retailer A has lower prices, but if something wrong happens to your merchandise, they only allow store credit. Retailer B's prices are higher, but if something happens to your merchandise, they allow for a debit or cash back to their customers. As the customer then, I can make an informed opinion about where to shop.

Let the states set up their laws for handling interstate complaints. Quite frankly, however, I think they would draft something like a Federal Insurance Commission anyway. They wouldn't even need to go through Congress to do so. Likewise, some states might opt to draft laws that internalize healthcare as is now. While others might form insurance laws amongst several of them.

    I think it's doable.

Personal attack noted. So, by your estimation, if the GOP gains control of Congress and the Presidency and rams through legislation that kills the income tax or nullifying the War on Poverty entitlements in 3 months, you'll be cool with it? I mean they have been talking about killing the income tax or nullifying those entitlements for 100 and 48 years, respectively.

Oh please. This is pure nanny-state bullcrap. It allows the state to dictate to the masses what they can and can't have. It is ObamaCare writ large with a complete micro-management of each individual's life. Without these artificial restraints, liberal government fails. Nanny-state bureaucrats and politicians are afraid of free-enterprise. They lose their power when it is allowed to flourish.

Liberalism cannot compete in a society and economy where free choice is primary. It always has to seek control over every aspect of life.
