I'm all for making Prostitution legal ( adult consent). Cant imagine you would find anyone that thinks child prostitution is ok so why bring it up? Making Prostitution legal doesnt make child sex legal.

 

To be fair, Munter said "consenting adults" AFTER I posted that. Read only his first page posts and he seems to really not take the fact that children ranging in age from 13 to 17 are being prostituted very seriously. My post was #10, while the post where Munter says "consenting adults" is post #12.

Well, with underage prostitution, I'm not interested in imprisoning the prostitutes. I think their customers should be "caged."

I think the state is far too involved in most personal behavior.

Granted, I think it isn't involved enough in much of the behavior of big business.

 

The highest age of consent in any U.S. state is 18. California is one set at this age.

If I'm not mistaken, it's 16 here in NC.

When I brought up the "underage" thing, I did generally mean 18, although I can see how, logically, you could argue the minimum age for this should be congruent with the age of consent.

It's a very touchy topic for obvious reasons, but it is something that needs to be discussed in order to come up with a more functional system than our current one.
