Strong and inspired statement, but an unpopular position to take in a world that values its own self-focused desires above all else. Given his apparent anti-abortion stance I wonder how many American Catholics supporting abortion and throw away life would vote for this pope as the earthly head of their faith, if it ever became a possibility?

Kermit Gosnell has implied that the Catholics wrongly prosecuted him, maybe the pope might just win such an American election?

Saw Life Site News and straight away thought another one of 'those' types of articles, and to be honest the Catholic church has no mandate to talk about “a suitable environment for the child’s development and emotional maturity.” when they covered up rampant child sex abuse for numerous years, or how about the Vatican join the 21st Century and start preaching ways to reduce unintended pregnancies instead of the no contraception mantra, but there again if you a are a person who doesn't actually live like most people do it is easy to stand at the pulpit and tell others how they should live their lives.

But hey what do I know, I'm probably one of those labelled by pro-lifers as "in a world that values its own self-focused desires above all else." . .though how the hell a woman getting an abortion is 'self-focused' eludes me.

I will apologize in advance for any inaccuracies you found in the reporting of this event...but really, do you think the world media would care to share the content of this article? I think it gets in the way of its political agenda.

The Catholic Church has many enemies and a measure of these are within its membership...I could see the death penalty considered for this type of abominable crime, as these acts surely wound, maim and murder the heart and soul of the victims.

Christians hold the teachings of Christ as timeless so a church breaking away to join a particular timeline and the worldly opinions of that period would be taking the position of an antiChrist. Just can't see a transitory value system being embraced by any God fearing church as a good thing from an eternal perspective.

    Sincerely, I'm sure it does.

and you think lifesite does not have a political agenda?

Then let them clean their own house before trying to impose the moral high ground on others.

i'd be interested to see just where in the teachings of Jesus that contraception is actually mentioned let alone banned.

Why not challenge the message instead?

Why not challenge the message instead?

Does it not run contrary to be fruitful and multiply command?

What's so "fruitful" about bringing another kid into an already overpopulated world?

What is "fruitful" about having a baby you can't afford?

How is it "fruitful" to have a child you don't want?

Oh, and the bible does not make the rules.....thankfully, or men would be rewarding their buddies with raping their girlfriend and stoning women and slaughtering real live babies and a whole host of other nasty crap....

What should the population be limited to?

You were afforded life because of your parents bank account?

What did a child do to you?

Or loving their enemy and neighbor, forgiving 7 times 70 etc.

You mention slaughtering babies as if it was an abhorrent event...interesting position.

From what I've read Kermit Gosnell agrees with your mindset (quotes above) totally. His, according to him, was a war on poverty/overpopulation too. If we can just make less poor people, Free Kermit eh?

I don't know what Kermit Gosnell thought or did but I'm not Kermit Gosnell...I only speak for myself... your obsession with him is your problem

Oh Fox! When you commingle yours and another's (my) quotes it can be so tedious to organize. So I won't.

Kermit was an active duty soldier in the war on poverty and overpopulation serving in the abortion mill theater (battlefield/altar). Now, undoubtedly, a patron saint, formerly in the trenches, of a cause passionately embraced by its enablers but I suspect not its victims.

What is your population number for sustainability for your town, country, world? Does the size of one's bank account, health, IQ, contributions, ability to defend oneself play into your final number of who's in and who's not?

How much money do you suppose one must have on hand, in the bank, to allow each child/adult their life?

Many were offered to Moloch on sacrificial altars, today we call those altars abortion mills and Moloch is now known as reproductive health, a right, a convenience and can never be sated.

As to your goofy comment label...well, often what we can't tolerate we are dismissive of or at least impatient with. May seventy times seven be an important part of all our stories.

OOHHhh, was it tedious for you to read your words IN QUOTATION MARKS and then my clearly bolded answers...

    Ohhh, the TEdiouness of it...!!!!

But it wouldn't be "tedious" for a woman to go through 9 months of labor to have a child she can't afford....and it's never TEDIOUS to be born poor...

Well as you are the one who posted them, one must assume you agree with them, so the onus is on you to show that they do not have a political agenda.

I did, I said it was hypocritical given their history.

With the planet being over populated by close to 5 billion, perhaps its time to stop being "fruitful"

Why have you focused on the news website and not the article content?

Again, focus on the news event content, find issue with that?

This planet can serve need but not necessarily greed. At what point, numerically, have you found the world over populated?

I am focused on your comment about political agendas of the media, not on the site itself. You posted the article from this site and then made some statement about main stream media not publishing it due to political agenda, I therefore requested that you show that lifesite does not have a political agenda .. now stop avoiding and do so .. if you can.

 I did, the content is hypocritical.

At our current level of resource usage we are over populated by around 5 billion people .. however, if the worlds population were to change its habits then it is feasible for the world to sustain around 9 billion people (a figure we will reach by around 2050), to reach that point the vast majority of the worlds population would have to become vegetarian so that the estimated 1.4 billion hectares of arable land could be used solely to produce food for human consumption and not to rear animals (which is an inefficient way to convert plant energy into food energy), and even then it can only work if the countries that can produce the food are willing to share/give to the countries that cannot.

The content/report/message, do you find it truthful? Are these abominable crimes? Do the statements and reported words represent truth?

    The statement, how so exactly?

Sounds like you're making a case that the world is not over populated just mismanaged?

As stated I find it hypocritical.

Every child, he said, has the right to grow up in a family “with a father and a mother” capable of creating “a suitable environment for the child’s development and emotional maturity.” - tell that to the thousands of children raped by catholic priests and then having it covered up by Rome, so the 'message' is tainted.

    - first question I would ask the pope would be prove that the right to life even exists.

    - does that include lying, because if the USA CPC's are anything to go by it must do.

    - Wow, how can he stand there and say this when his own clergy spent decades raping children.

    - Yep like all those children raped by priests, were they 'consumed', were they then 'thrown away'

I really can't be bothered with the rest of it.

    Both.

The attack on innocence, in all its forms, is an abomination. Obviously the morally corrupt and evil crimes committed by these protected pedophiles is prohibiting you from looking at the message objectively. Fug, I understand.

So you would not consider a murderer preaching about the evils of infanticide and abortion as being hypocritical

Those people aren't really Catholics. You can't be Catholic and pro-abortion. It doesn't matter what you call yourself. Embracing abortion voids your Catholicism by default. This is why Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are just frauds and liars.

I have not been convinced that this pope is a murderer. However I will consider evidence to the contrary. Most, but not everyone has committed the crime they've been convicted of.

Agreed. I would think anyone of the Christian or Jewish faith would be unfaithful if they supported or practiced the unlawful (per religious tenets) taking of the life of any human at any stage of that person's life. Of course I also believe that anyone who repents can be forgiven by God and a good portion of humanity.
