100% correct ! All we need to here now is that Bergdalh succumbed to his hideous treatment, probably a broken femur while playing soccer, under the Taliban . That would be the perfect ending to get the community organizer off the hook and you know Axelrod , Pelousy and Reid are thinking about it. If they silence him they won't have to abuse the Lois Lerner law regarding the 5th amendment which is the way to go for all law abiding citizens in their Demockracy.

I admit I'm not clear on what exactly you are bewildered about. That Americans are divided on this issue or that it was handled so poorly by the Obama administration?

We got Bergdahl back. Fine. We gave the talban way too much for him= crappy negotiating from the insanely naive Obameleft.

Obama does a "Victory Lap" presser on the Rose Garden, with Bergdahl's parents.

We then ;earned Bergdahl is a DESERTER. We're pissed. That's it, in a nutshell.

It is perplexing, and I'm one who doesn't expect much from the administration. They act as if they were blindsided that Bergdahl deserted his unit even though it was reported in the papers in 2009.

I can only guess that the bad deal of trading 5 Taliban commanders for a deserter is because they really want to emply Gitmo and the "trade" for Bergdahl is just a pretense for getting rid of people they wanted to release anyway.

The "hot potato" was the VA scandal, Obama was desperate to get it off the front page.

the va problems stem from the gop blocking aid bills

    GOP Blocks Veterans Bill

Senate Republicans stopped Democrats from advancing a bill that would have expanded healthcare and education programs for veterans.

the senate vote is a matter of fact

do you not remember va problems under the bush administration?

VA Problems Go Back Much Farther Than Expected

"But according to VA inspector general reports and other documents that have gone overlooked in the current firestorm, federal officials knew about the scheme at the heart of the scandal—falsifying VA records to cover up treatment delays—years before Obama became president. VA officials first learned of the problems in 2005, when George W. Bush was entering his second term, and the problems went unfixed for the duration of his presidency."

"In 1995, as part of a broader overhaul, the VA began pressing clinics to cut wait times for new patient appointments to 30 days. But there was no system for tracking which facilities were meeting this target until 2002, when the VA introduced electronic waiting lists to keep tabs on patients who couldn't be seen within a month. Managers who slashed wait times were given bonuses and other perks. This created an incentive to game the system, especially after veterans of the Iraq and Afghan wars began flooding into VA clinics and straining their already stretched resources."

"A primary motivation for VA executives to manipulate wait times was to receive bonuses and advancements, which was true as far back as 2007, when the agency was caught in a related scandal."

Sure, I remember, I also remember Obama campaigning on fixing them, how'd that work out?
As a "moderate" <chuckle> I'm sure you will agree that Obama might make a dandy community organizer but is worthless as a President.

If Obama says all his drone strike targets are Taliban and pose an immediate security risk to the USA, which is why he claims he has to kill them, how could five Taliban leaders being released into the wild alongside them not also present a security threat? Why does Obama insist that they won't pose a problem? Who are these drone strike targets that are more dangerous than Taliban leaders? I'm a bit puzzled now. Thank you Barack Obomber.

kerry makes some excellent points in this video

"they're not the only ones to keep an eye on them" john kerry

    Kerry defends Bergdahl-for-Taliban exchange

The five Taliban figures who got out of Guantanamo in exchange for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's release would be taking an "enormous risk" if they return to the battlefield, Secretary of State John Kerry told CNN in an interview that aired Sunday.
"I'm not telling you that they don't have some ability at some point to go back and get involved (in fighting). But they also have an ability to get killed doing that. " Kerry said in his first public comments on the controversial prisoner exchange.

Kerry defended the swap and told CNN the former detainees will be monitored closely -- and not just by officials in Qatar, where they were flown after being released. He wouldn't say who else will be watching, but he said the United States is confident the conditions of their release will be honored.

"And if they're violated, then we have the ability to be able to do things," he said, warning that the United States would do whatever is necessary to protect Americans "if these guys pick a fight with us in the future, or now, or at any time."
Kerry warns Taliban McCain: Bergdahl swap too great a risk Has Bergdahl affected the Obama 'brand'?

Bergdahl was released May 31 near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border in an exchange for five Taliban detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Republican critics in Washington have complained that the exchange for Bergdahl gave up hardened terrorists capable of attacking U.S. troops and interests. In addition, legislators from both parties accuse the Obama administration of violating the National Defense Authorization Act by failing to provide 30 days' advance notice to Congress of a transfer of Guantanamo detainees.

Administration officials have given several reasons for the lack of notification -- a need to move quickly due to Bergdahl's poor health and the overall threat to his safety, and the likelihood that even a small leak of the plan could have led to his death.
