It's a sign of enormous Democratic Party / Left Wing Media Bias and it has been going on for DECADES.

The U.S. Senate hangs in the balance.... and they ignored the story? ROFL!

Keep defending it.... it bumps the thread and you look silly.

Oh please. Everyone is focusing in on the 2016 POTUS election, 2014 midterm elections aren't that big of a story in the news. As much as I would love otherwise. They reported on the story, they showed that they're covering it. It means they're doing they're job. Who's to say that the sources you show aren't displaying a conservative bias?

I feel really left out! I never heard of JOURNOLIST until I just saw it on this FORUM-TONIGHT! (Hell, I thought it was a misspelling in the original post). Shoot, all that time, I could have had another source to be getting my LEFT WING dander up!)

Journolist was just another amazing left wing scandal the national news media refused to cover.

No wonder you are totally ignorant on the matter.

Why do you think Roger Ailes did it? He was a television producer, who morphed into being a political consultant (with a propensity for hit jobs).

Now, he does political activism full time, disguised as "news".

I see this one is starting to work its way around the ususal suspects in the right wing noise machine.

Wonkette puts it into perspective very nicely:

"Seriously, you guys couldn’t come up with something better? The wingnuts are going to find it scary no matter what, so go all out. Call it Mao’s House of Propaganda or All Hail Pol Pot or HITLER! (The all caps with exclamation point is so they know you’re serious.)"

Meh, I don't see an issue. Let them have their group. All people who work in the media still get to vote, and will have their own personal political beliefs.
Provided they report as per the company policy they work for, I don't have an issue with them getting together. 1000 isn't really a lot, IMO. They are not going to change anything. Nothing to fear.

I've believed for some sometime our so called "MSM" are all reading from the same script, a script purposed for support of progressives & progressivism. But during the Obama era this media cabal has become more united and expanded it's influence rapidly via social media, especially among the younger generations. They have also become more openly critical of opposing ideas (often in unisons) even to the point of viciously attacking certain individuals or organizations. They've lost all pretense of fairness, balance or even honesty. It's a twisted elitist butch who've surrendered (for whatever reason) to a common purpose established via an extreme progressive ideology.
If you've paid the slightest attention to our entertainment industry and/or education system, especially our universities, you knew this was bound to happen sooner or later.

In order to maintain free press, all who deviate from GOP talking points must be sent to gulag for reeducation! ;)

I bet there are at least a thousand RWNM sites on the internet, not to mention all the "journalist" from Fox News etc.

I read a lot and one of the genres I never read intentionally is fantasy. I kinda wish the Administration would screw something up just to get the Right Wing Noise Machine something real to talk about for a while.

Imagine if this story were exactly the same details, just a right wing group, say TPs or libertarians. Everyone in the country would know about it yesterday, it would be hailed as the "new militia intelligentsia threat" by SPLC and MSM, compared to white supremacist groups who were led by some "educated" person in the past. It would be pumped full of the lie narrative "angry white guy" and "dog whistle racists" memes. Coverage of it would contain "Kochs coopting politics" and "Cliven Bundy racism and lawlessness" references aplenty. Anyone who says otherwise is either deluded or lying.

As it is, when it's the left, it's all about "first amendment, free association, no big deal, blablabla." Since when is a f-ing SECRET ideological cabal of supposedly objective, ethical journalists "no big deal?" Everyone in the country regardless of politics should be incensed at this.

Go ahead, document it as a secret 1000 member group of purportedly objective -journalists- operating via shared mailing list. I'm waiting. On the miniscule chance that you or any of the other leftists here -could- document such, it would be just as despicable as the leftist group. Eh, actually a bit less so due to the pervasive grip leftism has on MSM and our entertainment, and the piddly nonleft presence in comparison. If the 10-15% of RW journalists out there wanted to get together in a group and compare notes, it would be obnoxious, but not nearly as much as MSM doing it.

We're heading down a dangerous dark road . Regular "folks" are falling into the trap of misinformation and it appears that for the moment the left is winning . Regaining any kind of respect for the truth or at least telling the truth is lost in the press and it's taken it's hold in what once was a " go to" country that used to be looked up to. The left's agenda is ,whether we like it or not, winning . Question is when will the common sense majority restore the honorable America, or will we refrain from taking the high road and let the minoritys control to a point where there is no return. Somebody out there has got to be honest and willing to take over the helm and we have to grow the balls to support them.
There out there but what's it going to take ? What's the boiling point. I have a feeling the waters starting to steam.
Common Sense , a lost attribute.

The left is winning? are you kidding? For example, Fox on election day. Talk about disinformation.

Fox was the only one calling a republican win . That's against ALL the rest of the media . If you can recall the left was also trying to get conservative outlets silenced through the FEDS by rescinding licenses and they're still trying. And regarding the past election results ,I'd view them as suspect . Personally I knew quite of few people who voted for Obama the first time and to a person they wouldn't or didn't vote for him the second time. Something strange about the win, but hey we can think conspiracy theory too .

I knew you wouldn't be able to cite to a similarly ideologically motivated group from the nonleft, so it's understandable you are now shifting to the "what's the big deal" nonresponse.

So you don't see anything wrong with ideologically based secret factions forming of any stripe within the press and journalism, groups who get special treatment in our country due to a desire for a free, open press? Astounding. I have a strong hunch if this were a TP group, or a Koch organized group, you'd sing a very different tune.

    Well said!

And this "story" is a great case in point!

After all, conservative pundits all do the same thing. Organizations like Heritage, AEI, Hoover,CATO and a few other exist primarily as an employment bureau for right wing pundits!

If you want to really make the point, Google the OP's story and see how many right trash websites have cribbed it, quoted huge chuncks of it, and accepted and promoted it at face value.

After all, cultivating outrage amongst their audiences is the surest way to cultivate dollars out of their wallets!

I didn't think even you were disingenuous enough to equate well known publicly operated think tanks and web pages with a large, clandestine, ideologically motivated group of supposedly objective journalists. Guess I was wrong.

Stating once again, if this were some TP, libertarian or Koch organized secret cabal, it would be the top MSM and leftosphere topic for weeks here and all over the leftosphere.

Which is the point that Liberals refuse to address. If the right did this.... HEADLINE NEWS! But, when the left does it.... news black out.

There are so many examples of our "Free Press" ignoring stories or under covering them when they are damaging to the Democratic, Socialist, Leftist ideology that its truly incredible. From Fast and Furious to the IRS Attacking Conservative Citizens to Montana U.S. Senator lying and plagiarizing to Benghazi we have these enormous storing being pushed off the nightly news broadcasts and buried in any print publication that may do a drive by story on it. But, if you close a few lanes on a bridge and cause a traffic jam you better believe it leads the news, because you have an (R) behind your name.

We have a complete propaganda machine (covert) and overt pushing the leftists agenda and the more we expose it the better.

    Not really.

As this thread shows, stories about the man behind the curtain tend to make the audience glaze over. You have to really pay attention to find these connections, and you have to look for them. Contrary to your claim, MSM does not report them often. Conservative media never does, but, as I noted, it plays the reliable echo chamber for the far right audience.

Most of the "well known, publically operated web sites" you refer to are operated by right wing political operatives, not journalists. They pretend to be news operations, but are more often propoganda mills, which repeat one another's stories, with no research at all. Conservative talking points appear in nearly all of them verbatim. All of them fundraise off their audience, and most of the money goes to the network of consultants and operatives that feed off them. I documented several examples of that earlier in this thread.

I have pointed out the fact that Tea Party Express is a front group for Russo Marsh. When this story broke, I immediately recognized the name Move America Forward, but did not make the connection right away.

Again, the group exists largely as a fundraising operation for a well connected lobbying firm. NewsMax does the same thing, as I documented elsewhere on this thread. It won't take much digging to find plenty more.

We even have the examples of the Presidential candidicies of Donald Trump, Herman Cain and the campaign of Allen West as evidence. In each case, the campaign was less important then the money raising effort. Neither Trump nor Cain were real candidates. They just milked a few weeks worth of television time for millions of dollars from the rubes. Right wing groups raised more money from the rubes using Allen West's name than West himself raised!

That the Heritage Foundation is a public relations operation representing itself as a research organization is very well known and well documented.

    http://fair.org/extra-online-articles/the-medias-favorite-think-tank/

I would take your posts more seriously if you bothered to actually back up a claim you make with a fact. But you never do.

Oriented journalism, if it is still possible to call it in this way, is the rule in Italy. I thought in US the situation was better.
