Obama: Ebola epidemic 'spiralling out of control'

Not so very long ago the Left was chastizing the Right about being worried regarding the Ebola virus outbreak, calling Right of Center people alarmists, and then 'splaining in terms suitable for talking to a seven year old how that nasty ol' Ebola threat is pretty much nothing but a Right of Center bugabear . . . and of no real consequence at all.

Ahem! So then President Obama says (paraphrasing) "Holy crud people this stuff is for real and it's nasty and it's a big threat to the security of the entire world!" Meh . . . go figure. So, leftwingers, don't you think that some of you should start lecturing President Obama about how he's being an alarmist over nothing?

Inquiring minds wanna know:

So . . . Right of Center people -- now that Barack Obama himself is in complete agreement with you -- what do you think should be done next? Leftwingers, you might want to take notes, because you obviously have some serious studying to do on the subject. Ya think?

 

It's only dangerous for people in the third world. With American medical care it's little concern.

 

So that means that Barack Obama is both an idiot and a liar? Sweet! It's good to know that the rest of the world has got nothing to worry about after all. Obviously, we are in danger. Not imminent, maybe, but the possibility of it becoming airborne is real.

Personally I would reserve judgment and politics on the whole ebola virus thing, it's a pretty serious matter. If those troops are going there to maintain quarantine zones or medical facilities then it could be a sign of something very ominous on the horizon.

Now that Obama is on board, the Right will claim its no threat and be against it.

 

It's the way a meditative Democrat President deals with a potential global pandemics ...

furthermore ... no panic ...

But suddenly ... OK PANIC!

 

Yep, no 'cowboy' style decision making for the Left of Center president. It's always cold, hard information gathering and step by step decision making that just happens to be indistinguishable from 'do nothing but dither and waffle' to the rest of the world until the decision is taken out of his or her hands by matured and awful events.

Perhaps Leftists need to rethink their processing methodology and even watch a cowboy movie or two or -- since we are talking about towering self-proclaimed intellects here -- read a book or two on the subject. It just might lead to a significant improvement in both response time and efficiency.

 

And how would you know? They are still not completely sure if it can be caught through airborne transmission. That would change things up quite a bit and if it did get a foothold here, it could easily overburden our health system making it a very big threat.

They've been crying wolf "spiraling out of control" for a month now. When you use words like that, like the CDC and WHO used a month ago, means that in a week or so, it is out of control. So it's either out of control, or not
Just as the President told ISIS they aren't Islamic, he tells Ebola it isn't a virus. This is a ridiculous use of our military to send them fight Ebola

My recall of this matter is that it's usually the Right who doesn't have any money to help sick people overseas, (though they're just fountains of largesse whenever they want to kill each other)

And since Ebola is fought with Science how long will it be before the Right exposes it as a Con Game by the Evil, Librul Scientists To Get Grants, like Global Warming. Epidemic, what epidemic? I mean, I have charts right here that prove irrefutably that all those people were going to die anyway eventually. I feel fine and there's nobody sick in my neighborhood, the whole thing is just hogwash.

Either that or they'll realize it's GA-HAWD and His Righteous Wrath Against HEATHENS. We better just hunker down and bash some homos quick 'afore he decides to smite us too.

All the reports on this I've seen are agreed on just one thing. The reason it's out of control and spreading is because the conditions for treatment in the areas where it is are so primitive. That doesn't mean we needn't worry, mind, because if it spreads enough it hits a tipping point where even good facilities won't help. Then we will all be well and truly (*)(*)(*)(*)ed, but we can't do anything about that, because that takes MONEY and we have to give tax breaks to the Koch Bros. or they'll go to the Anarchic Paradise of Somalia

Including the hundreds and hundreds of Americans Obama is sending to Africa to deal with it.

Obama is committing more troops to fighting Ebola, than to fighting ISIS.

Any disease is a real concern if you have literally millions of cases of it to deal with all at once. Ebola is a very serious disease and is very likely to kill you even if you have the best care there is and were healthy to begin with. You somehow seem to have missed this but not everyone in the US is in robust good health and our medical facilities, while better than in East Africa, are far from infinite
