    While Democratic Senator Shumer has called on the FAA to do extra screening of all passengers from West Africa, the GOP-controlled House has yet to pass any bills demanding that the FAA shut down travel from West Africa or simply add extra health screening for all passengers from there.

    what is the GOP-controlled House waiting for??????????

    If not perhaps you should move the thread to "Political Opinions & Beliefs" or "Conspiracy Theories".



    But technically your side of the isle isn't calling for closures either, just extra screenings.

    Something to consider ...closing airports impacts unions ...impacting unions impacts donations to Democrat campaigns ...and an election draws near.

    There are already laws in place to protect the American public from foreign health threats. We do not need more laws. We need the existing laws be enforced competently.

    Oh, by the way, the House and the Senate are both on recess.

    Not being a liberal I can remember when President Obama cancelled all visa for Honduran citizens because their government wouldn't knuckle under to Hugo Chavez, President Obama's best friend. But he doesn't want to cancel visas from Africa. Let's face it, protecting the U .S. and U.S. interest have never been big on this president's agenda.

    The Ohole needs to draw a red circle around the problem and dare the virus to cross. But in all seriousness, ANYONE coming from the problem areas should be landed at Gitmo and stay there 21 days at which tome they can travel on to the States. This kills several birds with one stone. 1) It isolates any infected person, 2) It gives the jihadists already there something to really pray about and 3) would really PO Castro.

    The republican are just listening to their great and all knowing president. Obama said their isn't anything to worry about. Ebola won't likely come to America. The great one has spoken and we know he is infallible. Praise Obama

    Did the President call for an emergency session to deal with the Ebola problem that he was instrumental in bringing to the United States? Did the Democrat controlled Senate which supports open border policies which brought Ebola into our country end their pro-forma recess? And since Obama only needs a pen and a phone to defy the wishes of Congress, what exactly is the point of calling the legislature back in session when there is already laws and funds in place to deal with the Ebola problem?

    Should the House pass a bill to outlaw Ebola? Should they pass a bill condemning Ebola as being a 'bad' virus? What, exactly would you have them do? And why isn't the administration, which is controlled by the President, doing what you would propose currently?
