But i'm 100% certain it has N-OT-H-I-N-G to do with their R secretary of state. http://america.aljazeera.com/blogs/scrutineer/2014/10/14/georgia-voter-registrationsgotocourt.html
YEP! They can't kill 'them', so they politically neuter 'them'. Always remember, we THREW AWAY 26,000 ballots in Florida (Duval County) in the 2000 election. (Guess what 'color' the 'vast majority' of those folks were in those precincts!) (Incidentally, I always thought it was 20,000. I mentioned this number in a discussion about 3 weeks ago at a state Dem. event with someone with some position of knowledge including a woman from that county. She quickly and forcefully corrected me and said 26,000. I'm giving the lady the benefit of the doubt!) Incidentally, KATHERINE HARRIS purged some 50,000+ voters from the voter list in 2000 (yes, disproportionately people of color). Including a SITTING JUDGE. Guess what color he was. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that HE WAS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES.
We would be able to find out it they didn't go 'missing' wouldn't we. Is this the next tactic after voter ID's? 'Lose' a demographics voter registration and then you can void their vote. They will magically appear and be processed. . .after the polls close.
Incidentally CBS says 48,000 CBS46 Tries To Find The “Missing” 48,000 Voter Registration Forms OCTOBER 14, 2014 13:12 PM The New Georgia Project and others sued Secretary of State Brian Kemp last week alleging 47,867 voter registration applications they submitted cannot be found. CBS46 called the elections offices in the five counties in question and here is what they found: http://www.peachpundit.com/2014/10/14/cbs46-tries-find-missing-48000-voter-registration-forms/
All but a few i'm quite certain. But yes, the elusive hunt for "widespread voter fraud" will continue like any good snipe hunt.
Chris Hayes had a nice segment about it last night. Apparently, the signature gathering group has the original spreadsheets which were double checked by an auditing company for dupes and inaccuracies prior to submission. So then they did a matchup of what was submitted and 40,000 were missing with no explanation. This Sec of State is in big trouble. - - - Updated - - - Excellent .. Thanks!
We don't actually know since the State obviously never reviewed them, and pretended they didn't exist. MOD EDIT - Off Topic
Looks like it's Federal Court time! it cetainly appears as though another Republican effort to keep people away from the polls is heading for trouble.
Maybe they were just tossed because of "irregularities". I mean, heck, it's ok for a liberal governing body to toss a petition that exceeds the required signatures for a referendum by over 2.5 times "due to iiregularities", so why are you so upset here?
Won't be the first time voter suppression Republican operatives have been caught tossing registrations in the dumpster! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/25/gop-voter-fraud_n_1990104.html
Im always a bit suspicious when third parties are actively seeking out registrations from "minority communities"...sorry. - - - Updated - - - I'm sure if theres anything legitimate to this we'll hear about it....and when it turns out to be as I called...we wont hear about it. - - - Updated - - - Oh I read it Tom, my question is looking at the clues we were given and putting them with todays standard practices.
WOW...starting the "R" voter fraud stuff pretty early this time around. Interesting. So is the source, ameican.aljazeera...blogs.
Wouldnt be the first time we saw a third party cooking up illegitimate registrations either... http://ballotpedia.org/ACORN_and_voter_registration_fraud
Yep, a few ACORN individuals were convicted, but the group as a whole? NO wrongdoing. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/06/preliminary-report-clears-acorn/
A few individuals indicted are all I need to validate the opinion I posted, and the suspicious mindset that formed it. Like I said above, if these registrations were valid, and were "lost" intentionally or otherwise...we can both count on the left leaning MSM to cover it across all media. If I'm right however, the only places we'll hear about it again will be on the sites you guys will smack down as a bad source. Time WILL tell, as it always does.
Nothing wrong with American AJ.. but if you prefer a local news story, thar ya be! http://www.cbs46.com/story/26768281...ms-prompted-by-unprocessed-voter-applications
Yea, with every recount, more "hanging chads" were discovered. More ballots with potential "almost votes" for Gore, were tossed. Dented chads vs. missing chads...... I guess the left can't tell the difference. Two more recounts and Gore would have won by a landslide.
"Today's standard practices" require that ALL voter registration forms be submitted to state election authorities, and that those registrations be reviewed by said state agency, which must make a determination whether the application is legitimate or not. Third party organization that do voter registration are not only not required to vet the authenticity of any registration it recieves, but rather it is REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW to turn them all in, legitimate or not. Few people understand this, and this requirement was used by the GOP in its ACORN smear campaign. ACORN obeyed the law and turned in all voter registration forms, even the ones some of its paid canvassers faked because they were paid by the piece. ACORN was never convicted of voter fraud. Ironically., a canvassing organization directly employed by the RNC was caught doing the exact same thing and trowing away applications from Democrats in Virginia in 2012. In this case, the state of Georgia not only did not do this, they claim not to have over 40,000 registration forms, dispite the fact that the organization that ran the drive can document turning them in. That is in violation of "today's standard practice".
Well, lets see as the story progresses. Im going to make a bet that this is the last update we'll hear on it unless we go digging for it. Just like the attempts to change the ID laws in texas recently, this is all about trying to cook up an election win from Desperate Democrats. This story will fade away.
