The OP's article references another article that says this... Try to be a little more thorough next time.
And you keep enjoying snacking on the "little sausages" in the Leftwing Madeup Bull(*)(*)(*)(*) litter box, "K"? We'll all must pretend that I didn't just post the EMBARRASSING FACTS that "The Georgia Project" is UNDER INVESTIGATION for ILLEGAL VOTER REGISTRATION ACTIVITIES, ok?
Why do we have voter registration to begin with? It is just more unneeded bureaucracy what I suggest everyone that turns 18 gets a state issued ID or when you become a resident of a new state you get one from that state you go and vote the poll attendant matches the picture of the ID to the picture of the person presenting it they swipe the card so to show the ID was used to vote so it cant be used again. then you vote out of state and early voting can be accomplished by sending in a ballot with the ID number and when that vote is counted the ID number is entered to make sure it wasn't used twice the money saved by cutting out voter registration would be enough to cover the expense to give every one for free an ID when they turn 18 or become a resident of a new state
Not a problem. In fact, a number of other sources on this subject say the the state won't say what the investigation is based on, or even if there is a real investigation. Even if this were true, how can the State be conducting an investigation of something it claims it doesn't have? The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports clearly that the State is in clear violation of its obligations under state election law, which mirror the Federal law I explained to you earlier on this thread.
About the only unsubstantiated thing here is your denial that those registration forms ever existed. Other than your babbling, that seems to be at least one point where everyone is in agreement.
So, you're worried about two or <gasp> even THREE people voting when they shouldn't. OK, that could happen. Now, how upset are you about the possible suppression of tens of thousands of votes?
I'm sure they will, and they'll show up at the polls just like Republicans said they would. Except, they never have, even before the Republicans in Georgia passed one of the strictest voter ID laws in the country to prevent that from happening - they were never able to cite ONE CASE of even ONE illegal voting in Georgia.
I think the number is 50 out of 40,000, which is less than 1/100th of 1%. So, folks are asking where the other 40,000 plus are.
Don't you ever stop to think that if 80K new forms rolled into your office, there is a possibility that the last ten are not going to be processed as quickly as the first 10?
I think post #30 Handled this already. Which "folks" exactly? Have any of these "40,000" done that? Also post #28 makes a good point When you add both of those with the info that this Group is under investigation for fraudulent registration....well....come on Tom. I think we can all see this one for what it is.
Yeah, their lunch break. Anything longer all depends on the employer and the employee's responsibilities. Doesn't appear the folks in my picture (Florida 2012 of course) will get 'er done in an hour does it?
Tom, i'm with you on this. The speak/see/hear no evil monkeys were intended for the guys who think it's just fine to lose 48,000 voter registrations.
We're not talking about ten. We're talking about half of the 80K. Sorry, but the law requires them to get the job done. They don't get to tell you that you don't have the right to vote because they were too busy to get to your form.
I suspect that you may be correct here. Although I have not seen a report to that effect. None the less, a law that places the burden of seeing that the State does its job and protects the citizen's rights on the citizen is both wrong and decidedly anti American. None the less, if that is the case, it is a clear violation of the federal Motor Voter Act, which governs voter registration law across the United States. That places the burden of verifying the bona fides of a voter registration on the state. When was the last time you checked weeks or months in advance to see if your were registered to vote? Why would you think it had to be your responsibility to have to do so? This excuse will not stand up in Federal Court, which is where this is probably heading.
I vote and I even know how to read. Do you think Johnny B. Good in Yotown, Georgia has been disenfranchised? "It’s the first time Kemp has commented since the national Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights filed suit against him and five Georgia counties last week, asking a state judge to make sure more than 55,000 people will be able to vote in the Nov. 4 election. Kemp, however, said his office has now confirmed nearly 40,000 of those voters are active and on the rolls despite accusations to the contrary. He said almost 10,000 more are on the state’s “pending” voter list, meaning those voters have been asked to provide more information to confirm their identities. More than 6,000 other registration forms involve deceased people or felons, or could not be traced because they were missing key tracking information such as a valid address or zip code. Kemp said one was listed for “Johnny B. Good” in a city of “Yo Town.” http://www.ajc.com/news/news/state-...issing-voters-accounted-for-in-georgia/nhkSH/ So, they cannot process registration forms that are defective, requiring additional information By the way, can you do math? Have you bothered to be outraged that better than 10% of these applications are attempts at illegal voting?
