He said he would self-quarantine and he then did not do it, and lied to the authorities rather than fess up. They had to break his story before they could convince him to tell them the truth. At a minimum his license to treat people should be revoked. First rule of medicine; do no harm . . . and he DELIBERATELY did harm to all those New Yorkers who then were informed that an arrogant M.D. might have infected them with a killer virus.

She would be correct. Just like the owner of the titanic not putting too many life boats aboard because the ship was impossible to sink and why clutter up the space?

And Ebola will never enter this country.
And Ebola will never be transmitted in this country.
And hospitals can protected medical personel from infection and are prepared for it.
And we understand completely the Ebola virus and it will never mutate.

Yep, and especially when dealing with two people back to back who have amply demonstrated that they have no understanding of or use for the concept of honor or personal integrity. A liar M.D. and an 'on her high horse' nurse have put many people at risk. It's time for the CDC to tell Barack Obama to get stuffed and start actually doing their damn job. They have the legal authority to bypass this president, and there's not a damn thing he could do to stop them.

Oh . . . and a couple of weeks ago there was this journalist who also swore that she would self-quarantine . . . and then didn't do it. Yeah . . . some reeeeeeeeal trustworthy and responsible citizens here.

Sounds like the infamous Typhoid Fever carrier who never developed symptoms, personally, yet she infected many many people because she refused voluntary quarantine and had to be arrested and kept confined because she was a health risk to everyone.,,, "Typhoid Mary!"

Exactly. Hit that nail squarely on the head.

Basically these arrogant people are telling us to "trust them" and one out of a total of 2-3 has already blown that trust.

Nope, quarantine them and be done with it. If they're such "heroes" and want to play up that "oh look at me, I'm so compassionate for the poor people in west Africa" then play it out here and do your quarantine and (*)(*)(*)(*).

There is no mass panic or hysteria in public currently, just people asking questions and trying to follow what they're being told...the problem is, what they're being told isn't jiving with what's actually happening.

Only a blind idiot would suck up every word of the lamestream media and the government and take it as gospel....and only a total fool is willing to play loose and free with chancing someone else getting infected.

    - Nobody said it would never enter the country. It was determined unlikely to be brought to the USA, which it still is.

    - Nobody said it would never be transmitted in the USA. It was determined highly unlikely to be spread within the USA. This remains true and, other than transmission within the healthcare environment, hasn't happened.

    - US hospitals and staff are generally prepared and protected. Dozens of US medical staff will have cared for the various Ebola patients treated in US hospitals and the vast majority have been perfectly fine.

    - Nobody ever claimed that we understand Ebola and it can never mutate.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant eh?

    ---

Incidentally, for all the people demanding mandatory quarantine for medical volunteers who treated Ebola patients in Africa, why were you not making the same demands for all the medical staff who have treated Ebola patients in the US?

If Obama were interested in (or capable of) doing his job as president then none of this would be an issue. It's been his decision to allow people from Ebola infected nations to come and go as they please. So the consequences are on his head and on the heads of the Dem Party leadership -- again -- in allowing the worst Dem Party president in decades to lead them farther into political ruin. Nice!

These are the same people who tell you not to go to work/school if you even feel the slightest hint of a cold coming on so you will not make everybody else sick, because it isn't worth it.

Well, you sure got that right that she doesn't care about other people and she's a NURSE?

You'd think that common decency alone would guide her into doing what's right for others........

Cool your buns, it's not so much more contagious than HIV. Tell her to wash her hands regularly and report any symptoms. Ebola is not suddenly going to explode across developed nations. We don't leave corpses in the streets round these parts.

Absolutely right.... only 2 more days. Why should 2 days be such a big deal to her? You'd think she'd want to comply w/this reasonable request..... but nope! It's just all about her.......

Yet our military personnel coming back from West Africa must endure a 21 day quarantine even if they were not in direct contact with an ebola patient or whether or not they are showing any symptoms. Why is that?

You know....I just cannot follow the liberal mindset. Everything liberals do or say shouts: POLITICS.

Consider this dichotomy: Liberals yelled and screamed about the fact that Thomas Duncan...on his first trip to the Emergency room in Dallas....was not admitted. AND yet.....just like Nurse Hickox, his temp that first time was normal, then went up (but not to the level that indicates possible Ebola infection). IOW's it fluctuated JUST LIKE NURSE HICKOX's did!! But the difference is.....Democrats went ape-(*)(*)(*)(*) over the fact that Duncan was not admitted that night on the first visit. AND YET......libs think it perfectly fine that this nurse, whose temp fluctuated....gets to home, refusing mandatory quarantine, and refusing voluntary quarantine now as well. THEY BOTH JUST CAME FROM HANDLING EBOLA VICTIMS. THEY BOTH JUST CAME FROM EBOLA INFECTED COUNTRIES!

    Can you explain that inconsistency???

Just like Obama......Dems are all over the board on this issue, and it seems to be more about politics than anything.

No, it just follows their self-centered, shallow mindset. They balk at logical, simple solutions out of rage over being personally inconvenienced, but rest assured, the second one of them is harmed by their callous dismissal they'll be the first screaming for someone's head to roll.

All the while the so-called "professionals" are the ones bringing it into the country, lying about it or outright refusing to follow basic, simple protocol.

Hell yeah, I'm in on that, but no need to put the wall up around all of Texas, just start at the the Cali border and run it all the way to the other side of Texas.

NY, you could seal them up in a Chernobyl-like cement sarcophagus.

ROTFLMAO! It is not me that went into a Panic of Ebola, I have said all along people are making too much out of it. That said the nurse just came back from treating Ebola patients meaning she needs to be monitored closely before she is allowed to go back into society and we all know that Nurses and Doctors do not always even diagnose themselves very well. What harm was it for her to give a few days to ensure public safety?
