I did. And you failed to lay out what that law is intended to remedy. Didn't you?

So lay out your case. Why do you believe this is anti-gay? Why isn't it pro-religion, or freedom of association?
Why have this law now? Isn't to protect businesses from harassment by militant gays?

By making it legal to discriminate against homosexuals. I suspect you of trying to avoid answering. You can't possibly live in a deep enough hole to have missed that whole flap, it was only a few months ago.

Raising the minimum wage would be a good start.

    Mod edit,,,flounder,,2

You do realize thats a form of government assistance, right? You believe the Reich Wing propaganda that "government assistance and welfare is bad herp derp" lol, well dont, they are full of (*)(*)(*)(*) and you should know that by now. There is nothing wrong with government assistance, especially at the expense of the rich who exploit the poor with wage slavery.

Nixon took the advice of one of the conservative factions greatest heroes, Milton Friedman. As for Reagan, his presidency got us to over 10% unemployment before Volker saved his arse and before he got the whole nation so scared of Russians that he blew a gigantic hole in the budget and spent money like a drunken sailor. While his tax policies sounded like a conservative, in reality his fiscal policy was pure Keynes. So which is it my friend? Tax cuts are the cats meow or deficit spending? And Reagan was fortunate to be in an era of massive technical advances in almost every field with America leading the way globally. We were the one stop shop for anything to do with software, hardware, computers, medical advancements and military gear. The rest of the world was at a huge disadvantage to us but for the manufacturing sectors which Reagan allowed to be sent to Japan. We used to make TVs and radios you know.

And you are still too damned lazy to make your case. If you make an actual case for how this is anti-gay and not for some other reasonable purpose, I will respond.

"And how would we do that?"
What do we do with all of the people who either lose their jobs when the minimum wage is raised or never get jobs in the first case because the value they bring to the job is less than what it costs to keep them?

It could be that I'm old-fashioned enough that I'd rather it was called minimum wage than government assistance.

You insist I do all the work while you sit back and call me lazy. I laugh when conservatives tell me about how they are self-starting and industrious. People like you are why.

You sir have no response and no idea what you are talking about. If you did you would have already answered.

No-one will lose their jobs. The jobs still have to be done. Employers don't have employees that aren't needed.

How do you keep a minimum wage without the government assistance? All around the world it was Socialists who fought for a minimum wage, and even a maximum wage on the rich which FDR even supported. The minimum wage is EXTREMELY Socialist, Reich Wingers have just done a good job at demonizing Socialism to the point where people dont want to admit it is Socialism anymore, but it blatantly is.

Minimum wage without government assistance? At the end of the year walmart only makes $14billion instead of 15. I'm not talking about making everyone millionaires, just about folks having enough to eat and a place to lay their heads.

No you misunderstand what im saying, if you force Walmart to take 1 billion out of their profits and pay it in higher wages for their workers that is SOCIALISM there is no debating this, and it is government assistance. A minimum wage is government assistance, raising the minimum wage is government assistance. You think Walmart will give 1 billion of their profits to their workers out of the goodness of their hearts? (*)(*)(*)(*) no, its the government that FORCES them to do this, and rightfully so, so in short the government is forcing huge corporations to pay their workers better by raising the minimum wage, that is textbook government assistance. Just because the government isnt directly writing a check to people doesnt mean "its not government assistance".

No dodge intended. Cutting and pasting a link or making a broad general assertion are simply lazy.

And what questions did Pew ask? I did a ten minute search of Pew and found a variety of statements commingling the word torture with the phrase enhanced interrogation techniques as if they were the same. And then using the answers to show support for torture.

Torture has been "watered down" in the press. I am not surprised people would support it if they believe it means enhanced interrogation techniques. I doubt many would support actual torture.

And yet most, if not all of the stories were about young black men.

I work with a small number of young black men and women. Not one is a thug. All of them chose education, an ability to speak clearly and to be understood. All are well on their way to being well off.

So what happens with the majority of young black men that leads them to thug culture where they dress, stand, talk and walk the way they do?

Yeah man good to hear, that is actually how I became I socialist I just decided to research it on my own and before I knew it I was a Socialist lol. Most Democrats are Socialists, they just wont admit it because the word has been demonized so strongly by the Right Winger even Left Wingers have fallen for their propaganda about Socialism being evil. FDR is a perfect example of Socialism, if you like him than you are likely a Socialist.

Im sure you consider yourself a liberal, as do I in many regards, but thats because modern day liberals are actually whats known as "Social Liberals", obviously short of Socialist Liberals. Whereas classical liberals are libertarians and are not Socialists because they dont think the Government should do much of anything, whereas Social Liberals and Socialists do believe the government has a large role to play. I love your signature about the government btw lol, very funny and true

The minimum wage encourages people to work. The lower the minimum, the less interest one has in doing the work for pittance. Increase the minimum, you get more people to work, you spread money around faster and you decrease the poverty roles. There really is no excuse for low wages but exploitation. We can see how that works. Just go to any third world nation and see for yourself.

From what I can read, only about 20% of left or right can actually think free of their parties agenda. Meaning America is in pretty sad shape after the century plus of party politics it's seen.

Add to that covert cognitive infiltration working to make the absurd look meaningful, the bad look good, the good look bad, the useless look useful, etc. ad nauseum, and those 80% left that can't think outside the party agenda are completely befuddled, talking in pointless circles with pretenders in great earnest.

We've got a republic (or had one?) if we can hang onto it.

It has to do with the level of intolerance the left has for the right's point of view. Liberals are traditionally tolerant. Over the last 40 years, they have become increasingly indiscriminate. They are very tolerant of things that are evil, and intolerant of things that are good. They also tend to be very misinformed about issues, and more than willing to lie to forward an agenda.

In third world countries, our minimum wage would make people elite. Should you pay a wal mart worker the same as a say a Doctor or Engineer? If not why?

The shear volume of what both Democrats and Republicans want to impose upon others by force of law makes them much more alike than the exact details of what they want to impose makes them different.

Republicans and Democrats are possessed of the same benevolent arrogance and the same desire to impose their very best intentions for others upon them by force of law. In this most important way, they are no different than islamists, communists or fascists.

Republicans and Democrats do not see the imposition of their best intentions upon others as a usurpation of other people's best intentions for themselves; they see it as an alternative to chaos.

Again, covert cognitive infiltration of social activism is very likely responsible for a large degree of this.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/opini...on-can-do-destroys-ability-desire-reason.html

We really need to get away from issues that can be credibly compromised by covert manipulation. Instead focus on issues that inherently dissolve artificially created differences while increasing our potential control over government.

In order to understand you, I would need to regress to a state of mind that might leave me permanently impaired so I prefer to waste your time rather than risk my sanity attempting to fathom this drivel.

Hunger encourages people to work. All you have told me is that the massive welfare state makes it easy to be both well fed and have plenty of leisure time without bothering to work. We used to call people like this nobles and we hoped our nations would not have too many of them. you have made a very strong case for a reevaluation of the FDR-LBJ-Clinton-Obama socialist welfare state.

You did not answer the question that I asked. What are you going to do with the missions of people who will lose their entry level job or never get it to begin with as a result in your increase in minimum wage? Your next step is coercion, isn't it?
