If the report reveals the deflated footballs was an intentional act to gain a competitive advantage, a suitable punishment is in order. Brady should start the game at QB. Carol Brady New England must use the throwback Patriot helmet logo, only instead of the Patriot snapping the football he will be letting air out of it. These would be suitable consequences in my opinion.
Right. I just don't get why they feel the need to do that. Just go out and play within the rules and see how your best stacks up the the other team's best.
Well unfortunately this is what happens when large sums of money are involved. IMO The PATs didn't cheat the colts, what they really did was cheat their own fans out of a clear superbowl victory. Even if they win, there is going to be an asterisk and for years to come when someone says the pats are a Dynasty someone else will be able to say yeah cuz you cheated, and they wont be incorrect. The only explanation is the weather system that moved in during the game could have affected the balls, but I would expect the Colts balls to also be affected. That sorta leaves us with....someone let the air out doesn't it?
11 of the 12 balls were down in air, its nice the weather didnt mess with the kicking ball, lol. Im with you alpha, they kicked the colts ass, even colts players are saying the low pressure didnt make them lose. The ravens kick team is also saying that they felt the kicking ball they used was under inflated, that would be a huge deal to me, thats not giving yourself an advantage, that's crippling the other team, whole different situation
For me, this whole ball deflation "scandal" is a non story. It's silly. Maybe next we'll start whining about a team because their running back had on cleats that were 1/32 of a inch longer than NFL standards. I find it even funnier that people think they've stumbled upon some giant cheating scandal, when half the players that played in that game are running cycles of HGH through their veins on a constant basis.
Rules are rules. Intentionally breaking a rule to gain a competitive advantage, however slight, is cheating. It is no more a big deal than other forms of cheating, but it is still cheating. I think they test for HGH now in the NFL. This is about maintaining the legitimacy of a sport, much like when baseball managers and owners turned a blind eye to the use of steroids. More home runs meant more fans and the rules were ignored. I think baseball in that era is tainted. Just because "everyone cheats" does not mean cheating is ok. The NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry, the peripheral gambling industry is another multi-billion or so. Money has replaced integrity. I care about maintaining the integrity of the sport and if that means being nitpicky about the rules, then oh well. Rules matter, if they don't why have them in the first place. Don't pick and choose from them just to make more money if you can, like what major league baseball did in the 1990s with the rampant use of steroids.
There are rules about your shoe string color as well. I'm worried about the relevant ones. LOL. Would you like me to explain to you how a NFL player uses HGH or any other PED without getting caught? I'd be happy to if you're actually ignorant to the process of using PEDs and the NFLs laughable drug testing. Again, I just find it silly, akin to a RB who's cleats are a fraction of a inch long. If you consider that era of baseball tainted because of PED use, just stop watching football now. You're watching teams full of cheaters.
If you are a Belicek era Patriot fan you support cheaters whether you know it or not. My prediction on this game....Seahawks 26 Patriots 20....The hawks will smack pretty boy Tommy around a bit and he'll give it up like he's done the last couple times against the Giants.
The ball boy or the equipment manager would NEVER deflate the balls unless they were directed to. Brady looked pretty silly when questioned about whether or not he was a cheater. He said something like "I don't think I'm a cheater". Pretty shady. I really liked and respected Belicek until it was revealed that he cheated his way into that first SB. He should have been banned for life.
And like I said, the NFL commissioner is going to blow this off because of his personal relationship with the Pats owner. And No, no one involved in this minor incident should be banned for life.
Definitely a die-hard Seahawks fan. I think we'll win too, and here's why. The Seahawks make big plays happen. Regardless of how badly we played in the first half of the NFC championship, we did an incredible job of coming back from a highly unlikely deficit. Even against a high-powered offense like the Patriots, the Seahawks have the drive and the talent to make it happen. Go hawks!
