http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/02/13/why-bobby-jindal-should-be-on-gop-2016-short-list/ I personaly believe him to be the best among all current politicians anywhere in the world. Because what he says is true and what he does usually works. He can change this messed world for the better.
I want you to consider something very seriously.... Do you REALLY think that the average white Rightwinger....who'll vote in the GOP Presidential Primaries.....who loves to call President Obama "HUSSEIN" and say that he's a "closet Muslim" and perhaps even "notes" his skin color by saying things like "He's not black, he's half-white"...or worse..... is going to vote to be their Nominee....an Indian-American ...named "Piyush Jindal"....who was raised a Hindu??? Seriously?
They are a significantly LARGE minority in the GOP.....otherwise there wouldn't be so many Republican voters who have gone absolutely nuts since November 2008. Put it in the form of a bet.....if Jindal is the Presidential Nominee in 2016....I'll never post to Political Forum EVER again. If he even got the Vice-Presidential Nomination.....I'll won't post here for a year. That's how sure I am about who and what comprises enough of the GOP Base.
Jindal will drop out by Super Tuesday (or in the vernacular "temporarily suspend his campaign")... he'll then start "dropping hints" in interviews in the Media that he'd be "interested in the Vice-Presidency".....but he won't get that. Then, if the GOP Nominee loses in 2016....Jindal will try again in 2020, but won't even raise enough money to go to the Iowa State Fair and eat a corndog.
Well, Bobby better hope they don't ask people from Louisiana what they think of him and his education reform.
Super Tuesday is on March 1st, 2016....Louisiana's GOP Primary is on March 5th. Jindal would have to be leading or a close 2nd in primary wins, by the LA Primary ...otherwise he would risk the Eventual Nominee beating him in his home-state and total political embarrassment. That's why I'm saying he'll drop out right after Super Tuesday....to avoid looking ridiculous the following Saturday.
Jindahl plays the usual political games such as disparaging those whose moral convictions may well be as firmly-held as his: "I'm not changing my position on marriage or protecting human life. I know it's fashionable for a lot of politicians to change their minds..." It may also be fashionable amongst politicians seeking the GOP presidential nomination to push for even more governmental intrusion into the wombs of Americans, into private morality in general, and to perpetuate gender discrimination in marriage contracts, but most Americans have progressed and there is nothing wrong with democratically-elected leaders reflecting the sentiments of their constituents. The one position Piyush had taken that demonstrated courage to break ranks with party dogma was his advocacy of slashing the enormous annual federal subsidy that sustains employer-administered health insurance plans. Any genuine free marketeer would champion its total abolition and liberation of American businesses from the bureaucratic impositions it exacts upon them, but at least he faces up to the problem, however timidly. He seems a decent enough bloke for a career politician, but I just wish he could face a camera without looking as if he had just been startled by a surly parrot uttering something exceedingly vulgar at him.
There are way more racists in the D party! No comparison. I would be happy to vote for Jindal or Ben Carson for example, and so would most Republicans. Playing the race card to say there are way more R racists is just plain silly!
Birddog 1. Yes, it's obvious thare are so many racists in the Democratic Party.....that's why they nominated a BLACK MAN ....TWICE...for their Presidential Nominee....while the Republican Party has done it.... uh....never. Not even an Asian or Latino, even?!?!?!? 2. You'll vote for WHOEVER the 2016 GOP Nominee is....anybody. A guy could come to your house, steal your car, drink your liquor from an ol' fruit jar, do anything that he wants to do, even step on your blue suede shoes..... and if he's the GOP Presidential Nominee....you'd STILL vote for him, even defend and praise him. It's why the GOP can safely IGNORE you.
You hit on another reason Jindal stands no chance at the Nomination.....there is already a guy running who wants to be the "Ayatollah of America"....Mike Huckabee. He and Jindal...even Cruz....especially Santorum if he jumps back in....will SPLIT the Religious Right vote 3-4 ways.....thus negating it and a good chunk of what could be the "anti-Jeb" vote. Plus, more white evangelicals will go with Huckabee than Jindal....given a "particular reason" as well as some of them probably think "Hindu" is "some kind of Mooos'lum, ain't it?"
Then why are there so many conservatives who are openly proud of the Republican Party history of fighting for the rights of black people? And why are they so often remind liberals of Democratic Party racism history?
Was there poll or something? It's a shame if it's true. But I guess even the best of politicians should leave their posts at some point.
There is what they SAY....and there is how they VOTE in the privacy of the voting booth. TONS of white Rightwingers said they "supported Herman Cain" in 2012....just like tons of them say "I would vote for Jindal or Ben Carson...I'm no racist and neither are most Republicans"... but then a "strange thing" happens. The votes (again done in private) are tallied up.....and guys like Alan Keyes or Herman Cain....despite "all that love and support"......lose....and lose badly. Watch for it again in 2016.....again, any wager you want to make....I'll even pay off in rubles if you want. But Bobby Jindal will NOT be the 2016 Republican Nominee for President....he won't even come close. He'll more than likely drop out after March 1st, 2016 ("Super Tuesday"), rather than risk the humiliation of losing in his home-state of Louisiana the following Saturday, March 5th. Ben Carson around the same time...or before. Oh, and then all those white Rightwingers....who "loved and supported" Jindal and Carson? WIll try to find some way to blame "Democrats" or "the Lib'rul Media"....for THEIR votes against Jindal and Carson. Watch for that, too.
He's at 46-45 approval/disapproval...a slight uptick from a few months ago. But bad numbers for an incumbent Governor. http://blogs.theadvocate.com/politicsblog/2015/01/23/poll-45-bobby-jindal-favorably/
... there will be 4 more years of this
He asked and got re-elected in 2011. I admit that I never dug this deep but I agree with his principle that teachers' salaries should depend on results of their students.
2011 was forever ago politically speaking. Parents and teachers alike hate his education reform. It might look good on paper, but he's done a terrible job implementing it. I'm from Louisiana originally, and have many freinds and family who live there.
So then, the teachers who are fortunate enough to work in a very nice school district should make more for their efforts than do those who work in the less desirable school districts? Which teacher do you think has the toughest job?
Here's one. When George W. Bush was in the White House, he had a majority in both houses of Congress and on the Supreme Court, and yet the GOP did nothing to outlaw abortion. That should tell you all that you need to know about where the Republican Party actually stands regarding the legality of abortion.
I strongly disagree. Your criteria is wrong. The Ds nominated a black man because he was an extreme liberal, smooth talking liar that they chose to believe without demanding vetting due to not wanting to be labeled as racists. The MSM were accomplices, and made it difficult for Obama's opposition in the General to demand his vetting. Obama would not have gotten nominated if he hadn't been black, so the D party is the ultimate in racism! Walker, who is a conservative Republican, is being vetted by the MSM related to his college years, but they essentially gave Obama a pass. Ds also display the ultimate in hypocrisy!
Fanatics may issue such pronouncements, and there are actually extremists who claim that a mindless, microscopic amalgam of a few human cells is an instant person. However, for most decent folks with a firm grip on reality, a person develops during the gestative process, and that temporal reality comprises the applicable metric in making such determinations.
