Well, well, well, it now seems religious beliefs do play a role in what businesses can and cannot be forced to do. I'm agnostic, but that doesn't mean I'm insensitive to people who believe. I wouldn't intentionally walk into an Islamic, Jewish, or Christian shop and force them to provide me with something they vehemently disagree with because of their beliefs, it's just not the right thing to do. Anyway, I firmly believe the LGBTQQ community has targeted Christian business owners with the tactic of using the court system to force acceptance. Heopefully this case will change that.

Great, now the gays won't rest until they've packed the KY courts with sympathetic fools who don't care about the Constitution...

this is the correct ruling. No government should force non-essential businesses to service actions which go against their beliefs.

so they would be able to turn away someone who wanted a Christian saying printed too? You would cheer that ruling?

All gays do not believe that a business should serve individuals against their beliefs. Activist homosexualsare just as bad as religious activists.

    yup, in a heartbeat

If an atheist printer did not want to make Christian themed t-shirts then they should not be forced nor sent to re-education camps

    to a point

religious activists at least are honest enough to admit that it's faith.

Gay people do not have "faith" that they are gay. Faith is the belief of something that cannot be proven - homosexuality is easily proven and even measured. While its causes homosexuality is largely unknown I would still have to stand by my original assessment.

Both set of activists want to force their views onto others.

Sorry, I have to admit to not paying much attention to the news lately. The freedom of a civilized world allows me that. After all mankind has been ruled by tribalism forever. Civilization is the act of freeing man from men.
That being said I'm not sure what hate speech your referring to? It's mans freedom to have an opinion on others speech isn't it?
If a court of law created by man says one group is bound by law to print language they find offensive but another group is freed from such a law I consider that wrong.
As for happy holidays I'm guessing your referring to the recent practice of attempting to offend no one. That's fine if a company wishes to pursue that avenue. That's their choice of freedom. I find it offensive not because I'm religious which I'm not, just because I find it contrived. I'm free to shop at stores that say Merry Christmas. Others are free not too.
Hope this helps you in your quest to understand freedom.

No I get the feeling freedom and agreement have become synonymous with the left leaners these days. Divergent opinions must be squelched.

And this is how it should be, private businesses should have the last say in what they want to do with their own business. It should not be up to any group to tell you what to do. Let all businesses decide what they want, and our free market will decide their fate.

If they get business, then that is on them.

If they lose business and go broke, that too is on them.

Either way they were allowed to express their freedom as business owners, live by the sword and die by the sword.

The ruling is based on Arkansas new Religious Freedom Restoration Act that was recently passed.

However, printing something on a T shirt, no matter what the message is, has always been defined as commercial sppech, not free speech. It is the same argument Texas recently used about not printing Confederate license plates because the state deems that message not within the bounderaries of the program it establishes.

It would be far different if the ownder of the business discriminated aganst gays as custtomers no matter what their message on the T shirt would be.

I hate to break this to you, but that has always been the case because commercial speech is not free speech.

It is one thing to discriminate against a person simply because they are gay. That is illegal and the Arkansas Religious Freedom Restoration ACt does not allow for such a thing. But for commercial speech, which is a lot more restrictive to all parties involved, a business can refuse to rptin something as long as it does not discriminate against the person or entity who is making the request. In other words, the business can refuse a service if that person wants to write a slogan that says, "I hate blacks" or "Long live the Confederacy" or any other message that it deems violates the core business value regardless if religion is used or not.

But this ruling may b eall for naught given that the original offense occurred before the Arkansas Religious Freedom Restoration Act was passed and signed into law. The Constutionality of the ruling may be in jeapordy because the law was passed and signed after the original offense was committed and ruled.

I'm actually quite glad to hear this. Even though I'm a gay rights supporter. The printing shop should be able to refuse to print messages they disagree with. That ability is universal. I'm glad the courts stood up for it.

This same court would completely/vigorously exert the same discrimination laws they just ignored in this case if it was a business owner discriminating against Christians. Divide and conquer.

I would. Businesses can choose to serve who they wish - it's their business NOT the customers or the governments.

When was the last time Christian activists threatened a person who disagreed with their religious opinion, harassed and threatened their family and co-workers, took them to court, drove them out of business or forced their employer to fire them? That's just over a disagreement of an opinion, not even a case where there was actual material harm.

All a Christian has to do is say that homosexuality is a sin, and the gay jihad starts. Brendan EIch, Jason & David Benham, Michelle Duggar, even the Memories Pizza Parlor (they were attacked over a hypothetical question from a reporter), can all attest to the crazy gay activists.

Therein lies the problem, gays never speak out against other gays, giving the appearance that they are a united front at their most flamboyant and flameyest...
Until they actually police themselves in a responsible manner that is the only fair way to treat them...
