Here are six good reasons why Pam Geller's draw Mohammed exhibit in Garland Texas was much like Dr. King's march on Selma, Alabama in 1965.

Both were protests dictated by the oppressor (doing what was forbidden by the bullies).
Both protests sites were chosen for their symbolic value...the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas was the site of a Stand With the Prophet in Honor and Respect gathering (honestly) just weeks after the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris.

Both Selma and Garland were principled stands for civil rights in the face of oppression.
Both events were executed peacefully and respectfully (with regards to American's rights to freedom from repression and violence).
In both cases the protestors were attacked for exercising their rights by cretins that blamed the victims and in both cases death threats and the prospect of great bodily harm did not deter those exercising their rights to freedom of expression.

Six very good reasons to be thankful some people still value our rights as Americans.
