It looks like your best friends were your 401's and 529's that will be the staple to a very comfortable life in retirement for you. I think there may be some other heavy debts that Rubio is trying to pay off, plus he is trying to sell the house that he and his BFF had in their names in Tallahassee...I wonder what his wife thinks about all that and why her name isn't on the title, but she is probably too tired after a long day at work to think about anything but paying off her husband's bills. I can't think of any other republican Congressman that has to force his wife to get a job.....:eyepopping:

So, are you saying that a woman should not work if she has a man around to support her?!?!?!?!?! Isn't that considered sexist today? It is too bad that some people think that a woman needs to be "forced" to work and can not have a career of her own.

sounds like a regular American which the vast majority are indebt and have difficulty paying bills some time which means he can relate to the average American unlike some one that charges 250,000 for two hours of work and makes over 10 million a year

Since lefties began their global warming tirade. My fridge cost 2800...over 3gs with extended warranties and has broken routinely every three months. The repairmen all stated it is because of all the new energy requirments. What I save in electricity cost 5 x as much in repair. Welcome to the price of new appliances.

I made a budget for when I retire and I also track every account and my property value every month. I project that at 62 I should be just able to get by if Social Security fails, and by 65 should have double my budget without Social Security. I am kind of worried that there will be no Social Security in 8 years when I hit 62. I load the max into my 401K every year, the max into my IRA, buy EE bonds and TIPS every month, and with my left over money I do stocks, gold, and collect firearms and ammo. I staked the 529 plan 20 years ago with $60K. It hit just over $110K at the height. And I stayed in Georgia until the kids were all in college so I could get the HOPE for each of them. Georgia HOPE pays 100% of your tuition at any State college as long as you keep a B average and had a B average in high school. They do that no matter what the parents income was. They fund it with those billions they get from Lotto. Honestly, every State should do that. I think only a handful do though. https://www.gsfc.org/gsfcnew/HopeProgramm.cfm

You got screwed. I did an LG at Lowes. It was rated 5 stars, which is how I sorted the fridges. They also give 10% off if you are retired military. I think with delivery fee, taxes, and hauling off the old one I was out about $1,400. It's side-by-side, brushed aluminum, has the Culligan water system in it, and has run without issue for 2 or 3 years since I got it. My last one made it 10+ years, and was a Frigidaire. We did LG for the washer and dryer too - those have had zero problems for 4+ years. We did the 48" LG stove with 5 burners - also never gave a lick of problem. Only non-LG thing we bought was the dishwasher. Lowes said go with Braun and just wait for a sale; which is what we did.

I'd never vote for Rubio but I don't see his personal finances as relevant. We only know numbers, we don't know the dynamics of his family and personal life and nor should we. Some people aren't good at personally managing money but that doesn't mean they don't have a level head and can make good decisions. The president doesn't do the numbers work anyway, he's not balancing budgets. He has people who do that for him, no matter who he is.

This is a weak attack and it shows and I say that having never voted for or even considered a Republican or Tea Partier in my life.

If he was a middle class democrat, you'd be celebrating him for challenging the Washington establishment of millionaires.

But he's a republican, so be can't balance a budget.

Leftists are too easy to predict.

Because you said yours is busted and the repair dude keeps coming out. When you bought it, did you sort by number of stars? Call Lowes and tell them you got screwed and you want them to swap out that lemon for a new one that won't break.

You seem to have your children's futures all set up; Kudos for that. and now you are banking for your grandchildren; that is fine. Most people would want to travel, and relax in retirement....but...but...whatever made you leave Georgia? Savannah is so beautiful, strolling down on the wharfs in the evening! the horse-drawn carriages....Johnny Harris restaurant....the historic district....

That's nothing. Reagan made $2 million for two speeches. G.W. Bush made $15 million for his speeches.

So you think because yours is working and mine broke I got screwed? Lol. It was 5 star reviewed. Again how do you know I got screwed without knowing which model? Thats like saying a guy who bought a porsche got screwed because it brokedown when your roller skates are still working great. And thats not how lowes warranty works. Its covered under lg until that warranty ends then it starts over under lowes. Read your warranty. Only after five breakdowns in a year will lowes replace it. As far as lg .....there is a class action lawsuit against them in which I will be receiving 1500 bucks back.

Fine - you didn't get screwed. You got a wonderful fridge, and I wish you and your repair guy the best of luck. I'd pray for you and your fridge guy; but I'm not christian.

We're in the wrong business. I saw that Aaron Neville just got some sort of award at Notre Dame for singing pretty songs and being Christian. I wonder how much he got?

I dont need your prayers just the model number of your fridge so I can accurately compare what you bought for options size energy efficiency etc. It appears you believe you bought a similar refrigerator for far less and without any repairs. Dont you think you should help everyone out and tell us what fantastic model it is you have so we can all go out and buy that one?

SAP moved us to Atlanta so we could support some local accounts and I wouldn't have to fly every week (The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, and Siemens). Eventually those long term deals we had finished up, and I was back in a plane every week. We were from NY so I missed seeing my parents and my friends. Taxes in GA were a lot higher than here, as were housing costs. Our farm in Paulding County had a yearly property tax of like $8K. The one here in NY is $1K. We were tired of brutal Atlanta summers too. Man it gets hot down there. Savannah is epic though. I could totally dig living there! Three of the six kids stayed in GA. When my wife and I retire we will probably get a few acres of land somewhere and spend winters in GA with our RV. We loved the Elijay area.

You are the only one asking. But since you were being nasty about me offering my thoughts, I doubt I would even consider getting up and walking to the kitchen to do you a favor. I feel that you are one of those folks in this world that I am better off just avoiding and not offering to help. I'm sure you can work your life out on your own without me and we would both be better off for it.

I mean like people who are smart enough to not have to rip into a 401K because their fridge died. If you cannot afford to go to Lowes and pick up a fridge even though you make $250K a year; you are doing it wrong. Not sure why that baffles you.

Yeah you were the one who mouthed off and got nasty first. Now you refuse to cede the info supporting your claim. Either post the model number or stop insulting people before you have all the facts.

Clearly he ain't the brightest candle on that cake. Who makes $250K a year and can't afford $1,500 bucks for a fridge? I mean other than perhaps a meth addict.

    - - - Updated - - -

Nice deflection. I told you that you got screwed. You did. Normal fridges don't need a repair man every three months. Go troll someone else. I'm sorry you think everyone in the world is out to get you and that everything is an attack. Bye - off to the ignore bin you go.
