Real estate mogul and television personality Donald Trump announced his 2016 presidential campaign Tuesday morning.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States and we are going to make our country great again!" Trump declared. Trump made the announcement at the eponymous Trump Tower in New York City.

"Our country is in serious trouble. We don't have victories anymore. We used to have victories, but we don't have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let's say China in a trade deal?" he asked his supporters to open his remarks. "I beat China all the time. All the time."

In his wind-ranging announcement speech, Trump aggressively challenged his foes in the 2016 race and repeatedly said he is the only one who can fix the country."They will never make America great again. They don't even have a chance. They're controlled fully by the lobbyists, by the donors, and by the special interests — fully!" Trump said. "Our country needs a truly great leader and we need a truly great leader now. We need a leader that wrote 'The Art of the Deal.' We need a leader that can bring back our jobs."

The Republican businessman flirted with previous campaigns for higher office without ultimately running, so his potential 2016 bid was met with skepticism in political circles.

However, Trump took a number of steps that suggest he could be much more serious this time around, including hiring staffers in key primary states, forming a political fundraising committee, and setting plans to release financial disclosure documents indicating his net worth is $9 billion.

Run Donald, run, this country needs you. Oh, and are any of you just as excited seeing Donald debating Hillary as I am? :roflol:

    Screw the Republican field.
    Screw the Democrat field.

We all need to vote Trump.

Left and Right are bogged down in a non stop cesspool of identity politics and scams, screw um all.

Hes not running, hes lying so the media will pay attention to him, and provide free advertising for celebrity jerkoff apprentice or some other bs.

This is the third time hes used this gimmick, and he always quits right before he has to hand in his tax returns.

I hope it'll be different this time..

I think he should run a state first, if he really wants to run.

I doubt he understands how impossible it is to run a government.

I don't know if Trump would make a good president or not...probably not. But any president we have should bring him on as a trade and jobs advisor. Look who Obama brought on as a jobs guru, Immelt, the same guy who moved jobs to China.

That's fantastic news.. one more clown in the car - in this case a self-promoting carnival barking Birther who actually has no intention to run for president.

One can't get too much entertainment. PLUS, if Trump's in, Jon Stewart says he may postpone retirement!

    It's HUGE!

Trump seems to think being President is like being President and CEO of a company.

Has he gotten that spider off his head yet? Trump has ZERO chance of getting the GOP nomination no less winning the Whitehouse, Birthers are known to be mentally deficient.

And with him that involves screwing over the investors, running the company into the ground, and then filing for bankruptcy.

Of course he officially ran is 2012 also. . .how did that turn out. Oh right, he got a reality TV show out of it.

Christmas just came 6 months early.....for Jeb Bush.

(No, you Trump fans on the Right simply won't get that....until after the first few debates. I'll let it be a surprise for you. :) )

So you apply that same thing to....Carly Fiorina?

    :)

Anyone who'd like to ban assault weapons doesn't love freedom?

    Just a tad simplistic. ;)

Remember, if a GOP partisan can't defend a Republican? Or openly criticize one?

They MUST try to change the subject to Hillary or the President.

That's exactly what's it's all about, being the president of a large corporation.

There are NO infallible people. The benefits he can bring to this country will far outweigh any potential harm.

Except it's not. The President has considerably less power than Trump has as CEO of his company.
