The recent tragedy of the racist killings of 9 innocent people in church is almost matched by having a lawyer defend this killer. Of course the lawyer will try to have his client being viewed as being temporarily insane. I think such a lawyer is temporarily insane. A defense lawyer is supposed to ensure that an innocent man is not being convicted if a crime. In a case such as this, when everything is so obvious, just bring the killer to court for sentencing and avoid a stupid, long, drawn-out trial.

Murder is murder, whether it was motivated based on race or whether the killer was just seeking thrills, or maybe even was just in a bad mood, it makes no difference.

Why? The Black people involved in the Newsome-Christian murders had legal representation and so did the rest of the African Americans involved in interracial murders. How is this different?

You have no concept of what a defense lawyer is supposed to do. He does not get to be the judge and jury. There is nothing in his job that requires him to determine if the person is innocent or guilty. Some defense lawyers will never ask their client that question for ethical reasons because "I did it" limits the lawyer's ability to represent them.

You could say the same thing about hundreds of thousands of people who are arrested on criminal offences every year.

You want to cut out their right to trial as well?

Right, selective use of the Constitution on some cases wouldn't cause any problems anywhere else. Wow, what's wrong with people?

Wrong sub-forum. It would be nice if people could pull their heads outta their asses long enough to read the forum rules.

I don't think that the OP was basing his opinion on the race of confessed murderers. Sounds to me that he meant any cold blooded murderer in a case where there is no doubt who did it and why.

The kid wanted to commit suicide, he said so. And he didn't get the gun from his father, it wasn't the one he got for his birthday. This gets interesting.... so, the kid was a heroin addict, he could afford to buy his own weapon but he couldn't afford to maintain a street habit so he was using a cheap(er) substitute instead.... yes, it would suddenly be very interesting to know the boy's interaction with his parents. A kid who thinks he's worthless and his once chance to redeem himself is shooting a few black people before he dies.... chances are there's a parent in there somewhere. Very interesting. Good catch, Trucker.

he didnt get it from his father because his father, was thinking ahead to use distraction and wanted to point the blame finger to someone else, and to keep the investigators off his trail.

I'm a Dem and this is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone should have the right to representation when accused of a crime by the State. And every attorney should try their hardest to defend their client. He'll lose, but it's a bad precedent to set to restrict someone of representation.

I dont know how he spins "civil war" out of anything but keep in mind this guy complains about the hair color of women and then creates some conspiracy behind it.

Sorry, lawyers do not determine guilt, the jury does.
