He chose a historical black church because it was a historically black church.

His original target was the college of Charleston. He said it a week before. Also, where there are no guns.

Huh? Really? Fairburn-Sykes, KA-BAR, Gerber, Glock, just to name a very few edged weapons are specifically designed as combat knives with the primary purposes of eliminating a human threat.

Oh please, spare me the blind support you have for a president who immediately politicizes this tragedy. More people die each year of bee stings than they do of mass shootings. Liberals like Obama never miss a tragedy to push their agenda, I thought there would be liberals on this forum who found both sides making stupid statements like this unacceptable

There are more than 6000 gun laws on the books, and when we have a president who gave more than 2000 guns to the drug cartels, I don't hear the comments from liberals on that one. Common sense says look at the violent sick people, not those who are law abiding

Can we agree on a couple of things?

First, Roofie the Racist was given a gun by Daddy for his 21st birthday. Mama took it away because he was scaring the crap out of her.

So, even though he'd been indicted on a felony drug charge.. he slipped through the cracks when he went to buy one on his own.

    http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat...roof_reportedly_confesses_bought_handgun.html

Can we maybe 1) ask why Mom didn't report this to police so that it could be picked up during the BG check and 2) why a felony indictment (whether innocent or not) be made to trigger a NO in the system?

    Seems logical to me.

Ok, we'll agree that racism is taught. Probably by Dylann's Daddy.

That said, there are kooks and crazy people in EVERY first world country. Why are we the only one that gets an incident such as this minimally once a month.

I suspect that it is because the US is awash with guns and it's too damned easy to buy one .. in many cases, without so much as a BG check.

I absolutely knew that you would feel that way about it :)

Was his mother aware that he purchased another on his own? And yes! His father is an idiot.

These guys are truly sick people. This is the kind of hate speech, and fear speech that creates these psycho kids wanting to start wars.

I don't THINK that his mother was aware that he bought another one. But yep, he was clearly a ticking time bomb and between his parents, friends and social media there were dozens of red flags.

Did you see that interview with his buddy? Apparently they were partying one night and he took Roof's gun away after he'd consumed a liter of vodka and was wagging it around like a crazy man.

I don't blame the friend for returning it to him the next morning (he feels "horrible") but it was just one of at least a hundred red flags that went unreported.

Wow ya, great point. I've seen Wayne say stuff that was every bit as ignorant.

Dude gets up in the morning and starts rattling off stupid stuff at the speed of lightning!

Obviously, the stupid gene runs in his family. I did see his friend and it was none too bright of him either to shrug that behavior off. Sadly, there is so many of these incidences in the news, that no one can say that they are not aware that these things can happen. Shame.

How did he fall thru the cracks when he purchased the gun?

I was once short-term roomies with a drunk. He went off his wagon one night, grabbed a handgun, wagged it around and started yammering about "eviscerating" a black dude with a knife.

I moved out the next day and reported it to the cops. They paid him a visit and determined that (as i'd suspected) he was probably full of crap.

BUT, if enough people speak up when that kind of stuff happens .. it can make a huge difference.

Ya right sure. Nice meme for Fox though, who still are pushing the notion that this was an attack on Christians.

Yes. If he was really concerned about the body count, he'd have used pipe bombs instead.

Typical conservative/Repub "logic",, blame everyone else but the one responsible...use the tragedy to promote guns...

He voted against it didn't he? It's not a political statement, its an observation that a law he voted against could have saved his life.

    True or false?

    You did the right thing.

    Check this out...

...the day before Roof shot up the Emanuel AME Church, the N.C. House of Representatives signed off on a bill to relax gun restrictions in the state.
    http://www.indyweek.com/news/archiv...t-pricks-with-easy-access-to-guns-kill-people

I don't know why these legislators don't just make a porno of them giving head to the NRA.

Damn son, the good Reverend voted against the one thing that might have saved his life. It's not blaming him, it's just a statement of fact.
