"WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans' swift condemnation of Donald Trump's disparaging comments about Sen. John McCain's military service marks a turning point in the party's cautious approach to the billionaire-turned-presidential candidate.

But Trump simply may not care; indeed he seemed to bask in his McCain takedown. After dismissing McCain's reputation as a war hero because he was captured in Vietnam and "I like people who weren't captured," Trump declared "I will say what I want to say." He insisted he would stay in the GOP primary field, despite rivals who say he's now shown he doesn't merit the presidency.

....Also looming over the GOP: The prospect Trump could run as a third-party candidate if he doesn't win the GOP nomination. Trump declined to rule that out Saturday. GOP pollster Frank Luntz said Trump could siphon off enough votes as a third-party candidate to cost the party the White House....." Source

Looks like the Donald has raised the stakes and doubled down. However, what makes this interesting is Trump running as a Third party.

Well at least Trump was correct about something - he reminded Americans McCain was last in his class at Annapolis. The rest if showboating.

Being last at Annapolis could be considered middle of the pack at lesser venues. It's all relative.

If we reference degreeless Scott Walker, being last in that Annapolis class is like earning 15 doctorates.

Look at the degrees that Affirmative Action ended up GIVING Barack Obama and yet he is a total crap-head as president. So . . . meh . . . perhaps common sense and a love of nation is the better way to go . . . or at least love of nation.

No, the rest is about border security.

McPain is an open borders guy. That's what it's all about.

I believe the trust fund baby is just using the border issues as a gimmick to draw the spotlight, like a harem of gorgeous bimbos at a resort opening.

The gimmick is Trump himself. As much as politics has become a reality show in this country, I believe will still have some degree of class and honor left. It has only been a month since Trump announced. There is no way in hell this sideshow will continue for the next year and a half.

I've lost count of how many brilliant generals as well as true heroes were academically unpromising. Good generals general, the rest study them

Well at least he didnt call terror attacks workplace violence, hasnt denied vets medical services and watching them die. Nor did he call him a baby killer like the left does to the military. Those would truly be low acts if someone did that. Big deal Trump gives McCain some stick back after calling republicans whacko birds, both playing the anti-PC cards.

You call President Obama a " crap head," after the dumb A*** we had during the zero years?

After 69 months of Jon growth, 23 million new jobs, Stock Market tripled. Bringing down the debt faster than any President, ever. Out of one war, trying to clean up the mess Bush made. Detente with Cuba after 52 years, gaining oil independence. A Health Care bill covering millions. And now a Historic deal to stop the spread of Nuclear weapons. Paying off two wars that wasted trillions.

Not quite my idea of a crap head.

He won't cost Republicans a white house if he runs from the third party. If democratic candidate gets less than 50% of the vote and republican candidate gets less than 50% of the vote there is going to be another round.

What I mean is that statement that Trump going from the third party may cost republicans White House. This is completely false.

At this point, it's anyone's guess. The GOP bean counters seem to think Trump already has enough loyal voters whereby if he runs as a third party, it will draw away enough votes from the Republicans to make a difference. As I have no evidence to the contrary, they may be right. It's still too early to tell. The debates haven't even started yet. Anything can happen between now and November 8, 2016.

It isn't possible even technically. If there is let's say 49% of the voters for Democratic nominee 40% for Republican nominee and 11% for third party nominee than there is going to be a next round where Democrat will fight Republican. The whole idea of someone siphoning someone's votes is nonsense.

It has everything to do with the presidency.

Our current POS is worthless scum who would never have gotten past his snorting days if not for affirmative action.

lol. If you want to support 0bammy, you might want to change your avatar. 0bammy is a war-monger, and has cost our economy much, much more than any other president. Shoot, our credit rating is in the sewer because of him.

    Now you know.

Well, since y'all are constantly posting with Fox sourcing, try this one on.

Doesn't paint a pretty picture, but like any Fox&Friend viewer will tell you, I guess we'll never know.

That is truly great news for Sanders and Hillary., terrible news for Jeb!

If he does end up running third party, he will of course be muzzled by the rules controlling the candidate debates (no third party or independent ever gets into those). He's probably better off running on the (R) ticket.

Numerical job recovery even as the slide from full-time to part-time continues with 0bamacare helping to make that happen now..

Stock market artificially inflated by the central bank and their bankster bailout scheme initiated under Bush and continuing under the Big 0..

The debt has only grown, and quite rapidly, under the Big 0. You're confusing the debt with the nation's level of deficit spending.
