No my dear its your problem, because you have a very narrow view of what gay marriage is all about.
Someone who says outdated religious beliefs is obviously not religious, nor is open to understanding the position of the majority of people she is supposed to protect.

Yes, and you are free to believe that. You are free to believe that, along with all other sins, homosexuality came into existence a few thousand years ago when our nudist ancestors ate magic fruit from a talking snake, disobeying the sky spirit. The rest of us have no reason to treat such superstition seriously, much less allow it to be used as an excuse for limiting the freedoms of others. Hell, according to your own scriptures, everything I've just said here is worthy of a lethal stoning. Thank God we no longer base our laws on such bloodthirsty nonsense.

The terms are not mutually exclusive. We fit both definitions.

Please explain how we do not fit definition 1b.

Feel free to contact Webster and argue with them about the definition.

They can be removed via impeachment.

The legal mechanics exist to remove judges. And the Supreme court can be completely overruled...just amend the Constitution.

    Not the Bible. See above.

The ones who owned slaves? Yeah, slave owners are a great source of moral guidance for me as well.

I am pretty sure those same people would probably have looked down on interracial marriage. Should we get rid of that while we're at it?

LGBT are not trying to take rights away from heteros. That is why they are not heterophobic. They are perfectly fine extending all of the rights they have to you as well.

Which rights do you have right now that you believe homosexuals are trying to take away from you?

Not sure what I'm looking for, but oh well.

Yes, it's very clearly written in the Bible that marriage is between a man and a woman. Some denominations have chosen to interpret it differently to suit their financial needs. Whatever. They're corrupt. Anyone with a brain can read the text and see that there's no room for interpretation. What was written in Genesis and repeated by Jesus is man and woman. When you combine that with the prohibitions against homosexual activity in both the Old and New Testaments, you must conclude the Bible is opposed to both gay marriage and gay sex. Of course you can and people do interpret it in other ways for their own selfish reasons. It's the American way.

It's about the rejection of "traditional" hatred in favor of the celebration of love.

I am indeed an atheist. However, not all religious beliefs are outdated. Some are only incorrect (I'm speaking from my own point of view rather than supposing any sort of objectivity, of course). Yours, however, are both incorrect and outdated. You're a fringe group amongst your own faith in the face of a society that's increasingly disdainful of homophobia.

Because you're protecting so many by denying people the right to marry those that they love.

    Give me a break.

I’m going to take some flak from my fellow lefties on this one but in the spirit of being open, honest, and fair……. I have to largely, mostly agree with the OP on this one.

I’m straight, and I don’t have any issues or problems with the gay community. I’ve come a long way on the subject and I’ve grown matured, and accepted many things as I’ve gotten older as many of us all have.

Having said that I have to admit that I’m absolutely sick to death of being suffocated by all things transgender around me, all the time…..

The OP is right, it isn’t just about: “hey look at me, I exist, and want to be treated fairly” as much as it seems to be: “here’s my agenda, I don’t like you because you’re straight, straight is bad, and we need to do away with everything that identifies gender”

Blurring the lines between men & women, erasing gender lines or forcing big box stores to take away all remnants of gender crosses lines that don’t need to be crossed.

This world is big enough for all of us but trying to convince the world that there are no defining lines between women & men or that we should all become some blurred version of what we once were where people are switching partners & gender roles as easily as they change their underwear is a dead end, and unnecessary.

I’ve been told that it’s not fair to make a boy (that wants to buy a Barbie doll) feel awkward or uncomfortable about it because all the signage in the store is telling him that the Barbie doll is in the girl aisle.

Here’s the deal, what’s truly going to be much more awkward for that child is explaining to his friends why he has a Barbie doll………..not what freaking aisle he got t it from.

I understand that everybody wants a voice, wants to be heard, and wants to be respected, but when people start forcing & blackmailing businesses or other organizations to change their traditions to suit their agenda..........not good.

    ...and others...

Well, the Bible does not seem to have a problem with a lot of people that had more than one wife.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygamy_in_Christianity#Old_Testament

This is not stuff I am making up.

So Deuteronomy and Exodus should be ignored huh? Many righteous figures in the bible has more than one wife.

There is no "LGBT Heterophobic War". What there is, as evidenced by the OP, is the continuation of a propaganda war against L, G, B, & T people.

I don't hate straight people. I'm not afraid of straight people. I am, however, feeling the usual anxiety that comes from seeing anti-gay rhetoric put forth in an effort to foment hate against me. Moreover, I can't help but think that part of the goal is to make me feel afraid, intimidated, etc.

    Here we go......

Actually it's a store policy, not a law.

It's a policy change brought about by pressure from the LBGT community.

    Why, I have no idea.

Here's my question, stores have been selling toys and other items that they have designated for boys or girls, men or women.

Why now do these stores need to change practices & policies that have been in place for hundreds of years?

Because the transgender folks feel offended that there are boy toys in a boy toy aisle, and there are girl toys in a girl toy aisle.......seriously????

Heterophobia in the gay community is a real thing and they can represent a problem and an embarrassment, even though there really aren't many as a percentage of gays or activist gays. . I have met and talked with a few, I know that there are some who's instinctive reaction is to stereotype, label, and demean straight culture and straight society at every turn. . The problem is that you are looking to the wrong place to identify which gays are 'heterophobic'. Gay activists are not the same subset as gay heterophobes.

just out of curiosity, where are your stats for all these lawsuits being brought by heterosexual couples compared to gay couples? I've never seen a lawsuit brought against a gay couple for forcing a straight person to serve them, but I have seen many lawsuits from gay couples forcing straight people to serve them... or are you trying to bring up overall lawsuits filed in america? I don't know how else you could justify that "fact" otherwise... the gay people are suing the straight people, its not the other way around...

I'm not sure how many gay marriages have taken place to argue your number, but there have been hundreds of lawsuits over this during the years (and thats prior to them being opened up for other parties to sign on to the lawsuit as an additional victim, otherwise it would be thousands if we took individual names), so how can you make any claims there are no lawsuits involved in issuing marriage licenses? thats how this whole thing got started, from a lawsuit by a gay couple because they couldn't get a marriage license, so they filed a lawsuit... "But I guess that little fact would contradict your rant, so you'll ignore it." (haha see what I did there)

or was that just an example of editorial privilege...

haha I love working the word privilege into things now...

I thought the bake shop owner lost all that money since it was pulled by the website due to another lawsuit by gay activists? (once again a lawsuit filed after the original lawsuit for another issue, thats two lawsuits from one couple and one event) and as a result the website shut down the collecting and said they would give the amount raised so far to the couple... however the lawsuit filed to shut it down, is now potentially stopping gofundme from giving them the money and is seeking to collect that amount for damages to the gay couple or return it to the donors...

and if all that wasn't enough... the oregon commissioner is reviewing the penalties and may raise them with all the donations being sent in... essentially wiping any gains out and still creating a loss for the family, and they'll still have to pay taxes for the money raised since they are not a non-profit entity, so essentially they'll be put in the hole twice, the second time being by the IRS when they come to collect their share after its already been taken away by the commissioner raising the fine...

sooooooo, I guess I just kinda debunked everything you said... time to go throw in a pizza...

P.S. please don't stereotype anyone as enjoying grandstanding and hysterics, labels aren't nice... stick to the facts and opinions, not name calling...

I'm glad you agree, but the gays lust for revenge will override all possibility they will realize they are on a losing path.

Your knowledge of the Bible is minimal. There is no stoning in the New Testament, which outlines Gods Covenant with all mankind.

The beauty of the Constitution was that it allowed many people of varying ideologies to coexist. The atheist could live next door to the Christian, each could live their lives without intruding on the other. Unfortunately, that world no longer exists thanks to the "progressives" and the LGBT crowd.

A 'debunking' is more effective with links to prove the assertions and facts set forth and provide relevant context. I did not see any above.

ummm I dunno, take your pick from websites to court documents... your choice I guess...

P.S. I notice you had no issue with all the other statements being debunked, since you didn't highlight them in bold text, so its safe to assume you recognize the other "facts" made by the person are incorrect...

here this should be easier... you can read the 122 page report directly from the oregon government...

    enjoy... I guess...

P.S.S. by the way, do you need me to seriously find the IRS codes about this counting as income? since they are a for-profit business (and not a non-profit) this will all count as income... which depending on their taxable income levels, they might pay up to a maximum of 39.5% of this money to the IRS? or will you accept that as common knowledge?

I don't think you know what an epidemic is, but I would like to see some examples of how our youth are being raised to hate straight people.
