Ok, he's leading the pack but others are closing in slightly. His speeches are all "I'm amazing, look how rich I am, I will build a wall."

He needs to step it up a bit. Have a speech with more depth and heart. He can win the nomination but can't be a one stichk pony

I really don't expect (racist) Trump... to rise to the intellectual level required to address many issues to the proper degree. If he wins the contest for office, it will not be based primarily upon his mental capacity to do the job. I'm relatively sure of that.

He needs some real policy like....

Hope and Change, Bush debt unpatriotic, saving Granny from being pushed off cliffs and women from being bound in binders.

If the repubs are stupid enough to nominate Trump, they will be regretting it for the next 4 to 8 years, even if he does actually win the election, because Trump is not who they think he is.

Do you think Trump is Obama's intellectual 'equal'?

It's racist to dislike illegal immigration ?

Obama gives a hell of a speech. That you may not like what he says doesn't change that.

It's racist to characterize the immigrants as rapists and murderers.

Obviously not - Trump is clearly smarter, community organizer Vs multi billionaire businessman ...... oh tough call. Trump is also better at hiding his teleprompter....wait what, no teleprompter?

He didn't. He said some of the illegals coming over were criminals. That isn't racist.

I already see trumps strategy. He is slowly feeding his policies until the election to keep the momemtum on his side. Its truly brilliant.

    Correct.

And if they cannot see Trump for who he certainly is... it is clear enough that they do not care to actually know. His appeal to racist/extremists on the Right, has a lot to do with how far he's gotten. But even that ultimately has its limits.

But his speeches are without substance. I like Trump but he's needs to do more.

Not necessarily. But racist enough in his message, to appeal to those who certainly are racists.

And I've personally noted things he has said before... which indicate to me that his ability to relate to others ethnically, is very lacking... to say the least.

For me, his overall dumb-assery... indicates to me that he will likely be a dangerous statesman; this nation will probably 'regret' his tenure as President, if he is elected.

Who gives a (*)(*)(*)(*). Im hispanic and i love Trump. For the first time in my life he makes me proud to be an American. If he can overwhelmingly get the white vote (which if theyre smart he will) then he doesnt need Hispanics. And he will get a lot of the black vote to make up for it.

However, that is an integral part of The Great Flatu's appeal (for those to whom he appeals.)

They do not worship their vulgar, thin-skinned, reality tv celebrity and political virgin for in-depth knowledge, substantive policy proposals, and potential to reflect the diversity of America.

    Far from it.

Donald Trump knew exactly what he was doing by blowing the dog whistle first thing.

Your question is disingenuous. Trump's rant is dishonest on its face. Net migration into the US from Mexico is near zero, so Trump's "solution" is one to a "problem" that hardly exists, but which resonates with the right wing fearful.

Nearly two months into his campaign, Donald Trump has yet to offer any substantive idea on anything.

But if you click on the positions tab on his website, you'll see his "position" on exactly ONE issue.

He says he'll have all these position papers out in two or three weeks. But then, he said that two or three weeks ago, too.

He will my friend. Be patient. There is over a year until the election. He is playing to America's short attention span. If he gives all his cards up now they will get bored with him. You know that.

    He's not going to.

He is speaking perfect Archie Bunker to all the little Archie Bunkers out there. He knows how to blow the dog whistle, and he knows how to stand up there and whip a crowd and point at things and pretend to be outraged.

He doesn't give a damm about any of it. He's on the biggest ego trip in history, and he's loving every minute of it.

He does not have a history of being in anthing for the long haul, much less being an elected official. He'd be a dreadful President. He's used to barking orders at fawing supplicants and firing them at will. He won't be able to function that way in the White House.

Anyone who refers to Black people (and immigrants) that way Trump has, is NOT a good candidate for President in my view.

That his commentary is tinged with racism and xenophobia, is hardly without question.

The problem is there is no substance to his wild promises, he has no idea how he would ever accomplish any of those goals many of which are impossible when one considers the logistics, laws and money that would be involved. People should know they are being played, but unfortunately most of his supporters just are not smart enough to question Trumps statements. What I can see happening is the other GOP candidates pointing out that The Donald has no depth and enough Repubs will understand Trumpy is not quality material.
