Funny, they would just cancel school if we had a blizzard in the morning, then once it died down me and my buddies would go out to the lake and clear our spot and play some shinny.. Good times...
You want pictures?? It's f#$en insane out here! On Wednesday we got an inch an it caused total chaos after work...people didn't get home for 8 hours...we done shut down...call it quits. Emergency personal only, They got sleeping racks at work for a reason. http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/22/us/winter-snowstorm-washington-blizzard/
I wish. My school never closed for weather if they could help it. Only school open in the district sometimes but that's ok, those days we would just sit in the library playing Magic or Star Wars.
That's because you're from Calgary.... They anticipate snow, and your population is few... lol.. Chicago and the burbs have an extremely dense population so, school districts want to keep the bus' off the roads.... I mean 6 inches can be difficult here - 18 will shut down the town... It's not so much the snow but the snow removal that is the issue....
Yeah. I lived on a Farm outside of school, so that made it doubly worse. had to wade through 3 foot drifts at times to get down to the road where the bus picks you up. Don't miss that at all. It's been pretty warm this year though. Only a couple of serious snow falls.
In my area this " supposed " Harshest of Winter storms was also the shortest lived. It came and went like Elmer Fudd being invited to the White House. With that dopey lumberjack cap. I remember as a Kid much grander snow falls.Like snow drifts so immense a kid wouldn't dare traipse around in the backyard lest they sink-in up to their nose.I ain't exaggerating nun. The Nuns taught me not to.
