AP: Gov't declares 22 Clinton emails 'top secret'

Nobody ever said she didn't have classified emails. Thats never been in question. The problem is that they weren't classified when she received them. Thats not some nuance, that's the entirety of innocence.

They really confirmed NOTHING. This has been a confirmed fact for a long time. Hillary even admitted it.

Im not holding on to anything here. I'm not a Hillary supporter. But facts are facts. What she did was legal in having her own email server. Receiving the emails was not illegal if they weren't classified at the time she received them. As a matter of fact even if they were it was still legal for her to receive them as she had classified status. Her having them on her server was NOT illegal. The only way she could do anything illegal after she received them was to resend, or transfer them from her server. Keeping them static is what saved her ass.

But put this into perspective. When the Bush Whitehouse admitted to using outside, unsecured email servers for Whitehouse staff, the right bacam curiously silent. When the Bush Whitehouse curiously couldn't find those emails, the right went silent. Or when Colin Powell did the very same thing as SOS that Hillary did they also sat silent. Had they held their own to the same standard they now hold Hillary, then they would have made what Hillary did by having her own serve illegal, and you would already have her.

I could not agree more friend. The hyper-partisanship we have today is not good for anyone.

Im old enough to remember back as far as Carters election, but that was just more mud slinging. I'm tired of hearing how bad the other guy is, and would love to hear how your going to help the country. Having candidate sell what they will do stopped a long time ago, and over my lifetime has gone almost completely away, and was replaced by every candidate telling me how bad the other candidate is. And with the CU decision, now we get to hear how bad the candidates are from every person/PAC with the money to buy an add. Its really sad IMHO

I really wish that the right would have held Bush and Powell to the same standard that they now hold Hillary and then this would have been illegal. But I am sure that the left wont hold Hillary accountable, therefore nothing will change. Me, I will push for/support new laws to make what Hillary did illegal. What were doing now is the textbook definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

 

Yet, it was highly sensitive information that should have been classified and now has been classified.

Other than that technicality keeping her out of jail, how does that reflect favorably in any way, shape or form on her judgement, trustworthiness, transparency, accountability to the American people, etc., etc.?

At this point, whether or not she goes avoids prosecution based on a technicality is nigh irrelevant.

 

The Obama people are parroting her excuse that nothing was marked classified so it looks like obama isn't going to let anything happen to his special buddy.

you do understand that the employees at the FBI, the IRS, the Military ect are a mixture of parties.. not just one right?

depending who the employee is that is doing something in those groups, they could be a member of either party

Elections have become nothing more than a divide and conquer strategy. Pit one group against the other. Make the people hate the other guy more than they hate you. All in search for votes. This is where Sanders stands a top of all the rest. I may not like his politics, but I respect him, know him to be honest and a man of conviction. I think from all the rest, everything is just for show, makeup put on to sell themselves, not their ideas, solutions or visions.

The reason why you are not supposed to take data home with you is that it can and does change classification. Thats why no one else does what Clinton did. So your argument is invalid. Govt regulations on data are insanely grueling. There is no possible way Hillary did not know this. Secondly ignorance to the law is not an excuse. If any of us did this we would be in jail right now. Hillary basically thumbed her nose at our laws ( like most smug leftists who think they are above the law) and decided her personal comfort was more important than our security.

It matters emmensly as that is where SHE had her classified information sent and where SHE stored it.

 

Colin Powel didn't maintain a private server, but he did use his private email account for official SOS business. Thats not even up for debate because he admitted that much publicly. So he used a non government account for official business, that was not on a government data store. Its in his friggen book !

Again, Nobody debated that there were classified emails on her server. NOT EVEN HER !!! But there is nothing illegal in what she did. Look, you don't like Hillary, and thats fine. But making up falsehoods to convict her of a non existent crime is ridiculous. I would defend Trump in the same situation.
