I would not get involved, too many things like that quickly become Political or Race issues, and I am too White, there is the added danger this man's friends might step in an help him, if I got involved, no, getting involved in that mess is a very bad idea all around.......
Just another day in the Philly hood, people smiling and laughing as a woman gets beaten for 20 or 30 minutes. I'm surprised this video was even reported on.
If I saw something like that going on in my town, yeah, I'd intervene and hope for the best. It's a risk, yeah I know.
If stuff like that happens in your town, you'd be wiser to spend more time packing. Let them enjoy their democratic bastions.
Well, my town is nothing like that town, believe me. But, in any case, I'd have to do something. A person can be beaten to death, and I'm not going to just stand around and watch it happen.
I carry to defend myself and immediate family. No one else. If they don't care about defending their own life, why should I? That being said after watching the video, I would have done something, not sure what.
The problem is that after you saved her, she probably would have shot you for hurting her boyfriend. I'm not joking. It happens.
I am aware of the risks. If she died right there in front of me, and I just let it happen, I'd have to live with that. I would rather just take the risk. I'm always armed, and I'm not suicidal.
While I think well of trying to help, and in the past, I have never walked by things like this, the way the Race card is being played, and how a friend might shoot me in the back of the head for helping, it might be a Pimp beating one of his Prostitutes, or a Dealer trying to get paid, etc.... I live in Portland Oregon, and I have not seen a scenario like that here yet, However, I also do not want to end up like that Brady bloke or worse !!!!!
Rare is the instance where I would intervene in a situation where I (or someone I was with) was not directly threatened.
Just another day in Obama's America where people are so much dependent on government that they stood around expecting someone to call 911. You only see incidents like this in blue Democrat controlled cities. Well it could have been worse. Just think if it were a white dude beating up a black woman. The looting and arson and BLM rioting and the burning down of the city and Obama saying my daughter Malia looks just like the black girl who was beaten. Then Obama would send Al Sharpton to the neighborhood to do some community organizing. (agitating)
I had to laugh at the outrage of the middle class white newscasters. Violence is an everyday issue in Democrat controlled urban communities. The residents see the police as the enemy and rarely call 911. And the residents of the community don't think twice when they see a man beating a woman, a woman beating another woman, a man beating a man; it's simply a part of their culture. White liberals/progressives/socialists see a video like this and shout, "Somebody, do something!" So Fed.com will throw some money into the community for 'job training' and midnight basketball, the corrupt Democratic machine will skim away most of the money and nothing will change. These communities no more represent America than a third would slum. Best hope is the peasants who inhabit these concrete jungles burn them down this summer when they start the Trump riots...

Obama has increased black on black crime by targeting police. Many police are afraid to do their job because they could end up in prison. Obama has created this environment.
Actually, this issue is much older, the NYPD has faced these issues since the 1960's........ Obama can't really be blamed.
Person, place and time. This happened in a ThugZone. I would avoid such places normally. If the woman beater was being watched by a crowd of his peers---then his peers are likely to have the same worldview and may come to HIS aid if approached by an outsider such as myself. From the report in your link, the police have yet to press charges----so I doubt the ThugZone police and DA would look highly upon my actions using a gun to stop the beating. So I say "probably not either."
I would've intervened but I wouldn't pull my CCW out immediately (if I had one to begin with, I'm not old enough). I would try open hand if possible. Basically I would use the least amount of force that would end the threat and keep me safe while doing it. As a Christian I believe in defending the defenseless and widows and she was certainly defenseless. If my life is lost because of it then so be it. To live is Christ, to die is to gain.
There are those among us who would try the open hand approach as a first course of action. There are also those among us that would look at this situation, and choose to beat the aggressor over the head with a crowbar as the first course of action, until such time he no longer posed a credible threat.
