Of course Wallace was a Democrat, not a Republican, but nobody on the little panel bothered to correct Ellison until he finished his remarks, and if not for Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) doing it when asked to respond to Ellison's remarks, I doubt any of lib's on the panel would have. This just goes show how little integrity these folks have. And when Cole did correct Ellison's lie, Ellison immediately took the defensive posture saying "and he (Wallace) was defeated!"...as if that was makes his lie justifiable or something.

Don't know if you caught the black pastor (from NC, I think) who spoke at the Rep convention last week. He was a terrific speaker, really fired up. Anyway, during his address he began noticeably perspiring & after he was done I flipped over to MSNBC to see their reaction & it couldn't have been much more sarcastic & demeaning as they all had a good laugh about the man perspiring. Brain Williams was the moderator & after the other 3 snide panelist finished making fun of the pastor, Williams, while rolling his eyes, made some snide remark like " we'll be right back after we towel off". It was just sick! But, that's the lens these people use everyday to see the world they've created for themselves.

It's kind of understandable given their utter ignorance of US history and their insecure need to have their confirmation bias stroked in media every minute or so. This OP topic reminds me of the hack work of Ian Haney Lopez, one of the top academic race-baiters in the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-MSM Complex. He goes to great lengths to conceal the fact that Wallace never ran for, or held office as, a Republican. Instead, the hack founds the bogus "Southern Strategy" supposedly a GOP strategy to attract racist votes, on Wallace?!, a man who was always a Democrat or Independent. Nixon used to mention Wallace BY NAME in his dismissive, highly derogatory national media statements against racism and Democrat politics, yet, aided by lying revisionists, I'm sure many people in this country believe Wallace, who was actually ALWAYS a progressive populist, was a Republican and a close friend of Nixon's. That's 100% by design, and reason enough to discount pretty much everything the Complex says on racial history in the US. They are constantly perpetuating the most grotesque lie narratives.

 

Anybody who was bad, dating back to the dawn of man, was a Republican to these people. These are all those college educated folks that support the democrats.

 

Southern strategy existed because Republicans created it and used very well go capture the South which the Democratic Party abandoned.

After the Civil Rigts and Voting rights bills were signed by LBJ Southern Democrats started becoming a Republicans. There were several Southern Democrats who were Senators who held chairmanships of powerful committees such as Stenis of Miss and one in Georgia andNC did not switch parties because they did not want to lose the chairmanship. These Southern " democrats" voted as Republicans especially on Civi rights issues.
