How nice. I expect the protests to begin to have the US flag removed from ALL public spaces any minute now..... Any minute now....

So I take it you are a Registered Republican correct? After all segregationists and racists formed the Democrat Party. And the KKK was founded by Democrats.

It was a Republican President that freed the slaves, it was Republicans that ended Jim Crow, it was Republicans that gave blacks the right to vote.

So carrying forth on your logic: the National Anthem being written by a slave owner, and so the Anthem is bad, then since the Democrat Party was founded by segregationists and the Republican Party freed the slaves, that you are a registered Republican......

The star spangled banner is a crap song anyway.
We should adopt America the Beautiful for our anthem.

There is nothing about killing black people in the Star Spangled Banner. It's about killing the British and their mercenaries.

I'm sure the narrative about "It's about killing black people" is the meme on some left-leaning site somewhere.

Well then no one should be upset Kaepernick didn't stand during it right?

And no, we don't need a bible-thumping song as the national anthem.

Yes. Very true. Liberal Republicans did free the slaves from Conservative Democrats.

Very much so. If you have ever read John C. Calhoon there is no difference between his take on natural rights and any modern Democrat's. Rights come government and therefor can be taken away by government Democrats have not changed at all.

The Constitution allowed for slavery and was silent on secession, so I don't know where you are getting that. How Constitutional was suspending habeus corpus or taxing income at the time?

The Republicans passed an Amendment, using the processes set up in the Constitution to settle differences. The Southern Democrats, used secession, a process not set up in the Constitution.

Which amendment was passed during the Civil War to suspend habeus corpus or to tax income? Which amendment was passed to allow the huge welfare government handout that was the Homestead Act? Which amendment was passed to allow enslavement of males in the North (conscription)?

'Anything created before 2015 is racist' - Millennials

    - - - Updated - - -

    That....

And there were plenty of black slave owners. About a quarter of freed blacks in NOLA in 1860 owned slaves of their own... some owned as many as 100.

As indicated in your post, those were various acts, and not what the poster was referring to.

Correct. He's trying to dodge away from my total trouncing of his argument that the Republicans of the Civil War era were "Constitutional". They violated the hell out of the Constitution.
