Fall Gardening

Well....if it pays good money. My garden is no where near the house. My compost piles are in the back of the goat pasture.

 

Set all your goats free, take pictures of it, and send them to the producers of that homesteading rescue show telling them your life is in ruins. Never know.

If you milk them, you can can make your own cheeses, and goatmilk soaps are very trendy. Supposedly if you let your goats eat poison ivy and then drink the milk regularly, it will make you immune to poison ivy.

 

I wish I knew more about OUTSIDE gardening. I know quite a lot, as I am an expert patient grower, historically, but there is so much I missed, by not taking horticulture.

I have a hobby garden, with huge variety. SMALL space. strip around periphery. THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET, where bugs and deseases are concerned.

 

I think I'll just keep going along as usual.

Before you go whole hog check the horse manure for herbicides. Some of them are in horse feed and can last for years. Test with a tomato plant or some green bean seeds. Look for leaf curl.

 

Yeah My neighbors have a couple of horses and they're always looking for someone to take their manure. I can't believe I've never thought of manure and sawdust before!

 

Hot compost the horse manure. This will kill the weed seeds and other bad stuff.
