I guess there you have it. There goes the talking point for Trump and his supporters. Both feel the Russians intervened to help Trump

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...b42c0e-c3bf-11e6-9a51-cd56ea1c2bb7_story.html

FBI Director James B. Comey and Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. have backed a CIA assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election in part to help Donald Trump win the presidency, according to U.S. officials.

Comey’s support for the CIA’s conclusion suggests that the leaders of the three agencies are in agreement on Russian intentions, contrary to suggestions by some lawmakers that the FBI disagreed with the CIA.

    Brennen speaks for Comey now?

Comey’s support for the CIA’s conclusion — and officials say that he never changed his position — suggests that the leaders of the three agencies are in agreement on Russian intentions, contrary to suggestions by some lawmakers that the FBI disagreed with the CIA.

“Earlier this week, I met separately with (Director) FBI James Comey and DNI Jim Clapper, and there is strong consensus among us on the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election,” CIA Director John Brennan said in a message to the agency’s workforce, according to U.S. officials who have seen the message.

    More "officials".

OK, I'll accept that the Russians A) are responsible, and B) intended to affect the elections outcome ... However, the DNC, once again demonstrated how inept they are at cyber security, and engaged in some pretty repulsive behavior routinely. The substance of the DNC leaks hasn't been repudiated, it's barely been mitigated, and the DNC has only itself to blame for the effect the disclosures had.

Big deal, really! Clinton sacks millions and millions from foreign governments that unarguably went to fund her lieathon and the lemming are hardly concerned with that, but Oh GOLLY, let another foreign source produced documentation that a piece of fecal matter is a piece of fecal matter, big whoop! If I were a lemmingite I'd be more concerned how my handlers "Forced' me to accept a old wrinkled corrupt candidate when clearly Burnie was the winning choice!

So in reality the Russians and the left wing party worked together to deny you ;)

And SOME of his supporters. Many of us republicans assumed the Russians were responsible. You'll find a thread I started on the matter in the "opinion" section of this forum.

Most republicans aren't in denial that Russia is involved. They (including myself) just don't believe the hacking changed the election results. They think the democrats are using the story to delegitimize a Trump presidency.

I'm glad the FBI is backing up the CIA. Now maybe the government can stop with the politics and think of an appropriate response.

Incoming Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer said Sunday that lack of agreement among agencies is more reason for further scrutiny.
"The fact the CIA and FBI disagree shows the need for a bipartisan investigation to get to the bottom of this. The investigation should be tough, strong, bipartisan and have access to all materials, classified and not," Schumer said.

They disagree unless you think Schumer is some Putin agent as well now?

Give him credit for speaking up and in name not some nameless "official"

Let me ask you. How do you think US's allies are going to act towards the US if a Russian friendly government is in place? Russia is still our number 1 foe in Canada and Europe. That didn't change because of this US election..

"The fact the CIA and FBI disagree"

Simple ... That is a head Democrat speaking.. Not some random "official" the Post claims to have spoken to.

The Washington Post is as credible as The New York Times, Weekly World News, and Snopes.

The only way to take anything the Washington Post typed up on behalf of the democrat party is to believe the complete opposite conclusion of what they type. Ditto for the NYT.

Mattis and Bolton are far from pro Russian. Tillerson is only pro Russian if it benefits him financially. Now that he sits opposing them, representing America's interest, he'll be more of hindrance to them than an asset.
