I have never heard that argument before your post - probably because its one of the stupidest argument I have ever heard. If you leave your baby in the car on a hot day, you did not kill the baby, it dies of "natural causes"? You are going to really argue that actions have no consequences? There is no such thing as involuntary manslaughter?
WHOSE "turf" ? America is the turf of AMERICANS....we have AMERICAN rights all over the turf! You don't like abortion "because of convenience issues"...What the h does that mean? Why else would a woman have an abortion? Yes, it's inconvenient and expensive to have a kid, it will change the woman's life and the KID'S ( but some don't really care about what happens once kids are born ) Yes, it's inconvenient to spend 9 months pregnant , suffer financial loss and possible job loss, suffer pain and temporary and permanent damage to her body, and risk death......things YOU would never consent to.... Do YOU do everything as inconveniently as possible? Really! Yes, laws will not stop abortions, just make women's lives hell......that seems to be what Anti-Choicers want.....
If it's a "baby" , a person from conception, it has no right to use another's body to sustain it's life. If it's a "baby", a person from conception, then there is no reason it can't be removed and allowed to grow on it's own.....like any other person .
Who am I anyway? I am an activist in many areas, but the wheels will keep on turning with or without my tiny input. Sure I feel better being part of the vast majority in my community and state that don't want on-demand abortions on their turf.
In your fantasy world, I think you'd like to see abortion clinics inside Costco and WalMart, paid for by Big Brother. On-demand abortions are any that do not seriously risk the health and mental state of the mother (rare), or sometimes involve rape or incest. This isn't the time before 1900 when there were bad roads and no cars, with the women trapped at home dozens or hundreds of miles to the nearest doctor on foot or by horse. If you think a spending a few hours in a modern car or plane if barbaric---then you are quite out of touch with reality.

Contrary to popular belief, you'll never completely stop abortions in the United States. People will find ways to abort their fetus and there is nothing you can really do about it and for those who do not get abortions, most of them will turn their babies over to the state to raise and care for. Think about the nice rise in taxes you'll get. But at least your conscience will be clear.

Is that because it's only women who have to go through that?? Nor in your unreal view of life, especially for POOR women, can you comprehend the fact that some don't have cars, some have trouble getting bus fare, some can't afford an overnight stay in a hotel.........but you do seem to think that it's OK if rich women have abortions.....and you can't see how that shows you just want to punish poor women for having sex. Why is an abortion due to rape any more or less "convenient" than an abortion due to consensual sex? There is NO difference between an abortion done because of rape or incest and an abortion done because the woman doesn't want a kid. There is no difference so that shows you just want to punish women for having consensual sex.
Since I'm a male, that's going to be a tough feat to accomplish so my hands are clean. If you don't believe in abortion, then don't have one, however if your state prohibits abortion, enjoy spending your tax dollars on raising a lot of unwanted children ditched at birth.

That's what we're doing. I just happened to drive into the nearest Liberal city the other week, and saw the one and only unmarked abortion clinic. It was being picketed by a dozen Pro-Lifers. Also, some people we know took custody of a newborn that was abandoned at a local hospital by her crack-mom. The mom just after having the kid, tore all the tubes out of arm and fled the hospital. Besides ending most welfare, a wonderful plan to help stop such low-lifes from having kids is to offer $200 cash money to any poor mom to get their tubes tied.
So...more unwanted pregnancy, no abortions, and no one to take care of the kids once they are born. Sounds like something Jesus would do...don't it.
So when women seeking on demand abortions in your state simply use drugs that induce miscarriages, how will your state identify those cases and prosecute them?
They can't really, just like they can't really stop a thug who wants to buy a stolen gun and rob or kill someone. A law is just a piece of paper or bits on a computer. Laws advise people what is right and wrong, and allows consequences for those who are caught.
