Even if healthcare is a right why expect it to be free to you? And why expect the government to provide it?

The government is not responsible for paying for your rights. No one is. You are. Does the government pay for your firearms? Ya know something that really is a right and guaranteed by the constitution. So tell me why this one "right" is supposed to be supplied to you with no work on your behalf when rights that are actually written out in the constitution are expected to be provided by the individual who wishes to exercize them?

No. Again, the bear does not understand such concepts as Natural Rights and Natural Law (duh!) The bear's 'reasoning' capacity is pretty much limited to understanding immediate potential threats or potential food.

The bear also won't understand what's happening when I exercise my constitutionally recognized and protected right to shoot it to keep from being eaten.

    For sake of discussion

I am your next door neighbor. You have a good well. I learned my well has dried up.

    Q. What rights do I have to your water?

    Same scene

I have a medicine cabinet and in it is penicillin.

I got a cut and it got infected. My doctor told me to bye it at the drug store.

You know of the drug in my cabinet.

You have bad luck and after hearing of my drug, also cut yourself. The following day, you find you are also infected.

What rights do you have to my drugs?

Roman Civil law emerged from dispute resolution just like Common Law. I'd say both are results of natural law, evidence of natural law.

How about you think of a way to show that any of them have such a right. I don't do appeals to :roflol:.

Since many Democrats approve government stealing from citizens, why not cut out the middlemen and force doctors to perform all services for free? This fits the spirit of Democratic party thinking.

This nation was in trouble the moment our left-leaning friends purposefully misinterpreted the General Welfare clause. Under their deceitful interpretation, access to everything could be considered a "right", and there would be no constraints on the federal government's authority to satisfy these "rights" because it "promotes the General Welfare" of the individuals who comprise the citizenry.

why even have a Constitution? seriously.

What are you trying to say, that taking things from people is fine unless they die?

All of it stems from a universal belief (within civilized... western... society (yes, that's a dig at Islamic savages ;) ) ) that raping, pillaging, enslaving and murdering your fellow villagers is a violation of their Natural Rights.

I enjoy my explanation of what the USA really is.

When an area has a complete government, it is able to stand alone. What it wants and needs from others is then purchased.

States all have a full government. Each state has it's own "president" but we call that person the Governor. But the Governor does what the president does. This is why I favor governors running for president. If I could amend the constitution, i would have inserted in qualifications to be president, the words that only a sitting or former governor may be elected president.

States should have each been established so the public living in them has election votes on almost all issues. This would prevent the bureaucrats from persuading your elected types, that they know best.

United vs the world. Each state will defend other states.

Our civil war was the north violating such rights.

But the bottom line is each state operates all alone not relying on other states laws or rules or regulations. We find we have a run amok Federal condition known as the Feds are running all over states. We need states with backbone to fight back.

You'd have to force people to become doctors too, or force everyone else to do everything else for free. Either way, there wouldn't be enough doctors. Sometimes I wish they could get everything they want so they can all starve to death and shut up, but then I remember that everybody dying doesn't prove to them that their ideas suck.

I think I agree with you that we might be on a path to slippery slope. Also, I know that there is a clause in the Constitution that people have the right to pursue happiness (among other things), however this does not mean it is now the government's job to give everybody whatever they want in order to be happy. I mean, I like White boys and I am only happy when I have one as a boyfriend, so does this mean that the "right" to a white boy is now valid?

Who is they? The founders would have erected public paid for schools had they been a right found in the constitution.

I believe if I recall my research properly it was around 1845 that this nation had it's first public schools that taxes paid for.

This is bassackwards, and I think you know this. The bill of rights says what the government cannot do, but it is superfluous to the articles which say what it is allowed to do.

Put it like this. When a civilization advances enough in intelligence and common morality it will have healthcare for all. Decent healthcare. It would be seen as a basic human right and is tied in to the right of life. You would have to get for profit insurance out of it. Overhead is a expense not needed.

It is an absurd suggestion that really doesn't address the question posed.

That is typical Democrat chit chat. I offered the direct solution. Stop with demanding I must pay and nail the doctor. He has plenty of cash. Doesn't he?

This is a dystopic utopian vision of what civilization ought to be. If you want something from society, you have to contribute an amount equal to what you want from society. The way we measure individual contributions to society is with money.

In other words, nothing is free. Sorry, but that's the way things ought to be. Pull your own share of the load and we will get along swimmingly. Complain about having to pull your fair share on the oar and the sharks aren't going to go to bed hungry tonight.
