How do Democrats win back the White House in 2020? Its pretty simple. #1. Focus on Trump's failures, broken promises, and damage to the economy & international relations & American values since 2017. #2. Focus on renegotiating existing trade deals so they are more fair to American workers. #3. Promise big investments in job creation in the inner cities, especially cities with large black communities. And also funding for job training. We do that, and the White House is ours again.
It's got to feel good, does is not Democrats? I mean, figuring out your plans for 2020, (basing them on #1) for something that hasn't even occurred. If your party wants some political success, why doesn't it go back to the heart of what real Democrats once were, what most Americans can somewhat understand - and even respect - instead of this "new" 2017 far-left Progressive party?
An illegal alien registration drive. Bus illegals to flyover country. More grants to LGBT Farmers. (sorry, Obama originated the last idea)
but we all know it will happen. Trump will not get a massive infrastructure plan. his tariffs idea may cause massive chaos. stock market may plunge
The way for Democrats to win is to make illegal immigrants into citizens, and the way for Republicans to win is to point out that the Democrats are trying to make illegal immigrants into citizens.
the Democrats immigration plan called for illegals to have to wait 8 years before they could apply for a Green Card, and they had to leave the USA in order to do it. and they had to remain crime free. after that, they could then apply for citizenship, but would be at the back of the line behind all the other applicants. so their plan would not have added millions of new voters for at least 10 years or so.
My comment was obviously a bit tongue in cheek, but it really is kind of true. While obviously the Republican fan base is very anti-illegal immigrant, some of the Republican elite think otherwise due to cheap labor.
Well that's good for you. But naturally, all conservatives have predicted that they will again in 2020. So I'll take their predictions.
If the democrats really want to win they will ask three million democratic Californians to move to Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin and register to vote. As long as all the hippies are living in one state, they ain't getting back into power.
we lost because of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio. 15,000 votes or so in each state. that can easily be flipped. Trump won, but just barely. His win is tiny.
Hillary tried focusing entirely on Trump and it didn't work for her. She didn't present a compelling alternative to what Trump was selling. Her message was, everything is great and Trump is a bad man, so vote for me. Except of course, for millions of Americans things aren't great. Good jobs are gone, wages for the bottom 80% have been stagnant for decades, and people lost hope in the status quo to be able to solve that. Trump at least recognized that. He of course has no ideas how to fix anything and the ideas he does have are absurd nonsense, but at least he recognized the problems exist. For many people that was a step in the right direction. What Democrats need to do is recognize that reality, stop cozying up to special interests, nominate someone whose personal likability isn't worse than Trump, but most importantly present a coherent message that speaks to the problems most people really have.
Democrats lost because of a few thousand voters in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. mostly black voters who felt ignored over the last 8 years. we can win them by promising massive spending in the inner city. problem solved
You also lost the swing states of NC and FL and PA. I don't see Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin being easily flipped. They're moving away from the democratics. Even Minnesota is moving towards the republicans. The democrats are losing middle America and the working man.
#1 wishful thinking as of now #2 stolen from Trump's agenda #3 was promised by Democrats for decades, never delivered Just sayin...
Sure. That's what every candidate does on both sides. But it's too early to tell if you'll have any real issues there. ' Lol ... a Trump staple. How about if we make business and industry want to move into the cities rather than just giving money to cities to "create jobs" out of thin air. That never works. Local politicians will just give it to their cronies for pet projects, and when the money is spent, nothing will have changed. The Democrats need to eschew the hard left and move back to the middle. You should have a sane foreign policy that isn't always looking for another war to get into. You should talk about "America" and "all Americans", rather than whites, blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, gays, lesbians, and women - as if we are all each others' enemies. But they won't. There is a very strong chance your party is going to turn even harder to the left. Good luck with that ....
considering that the Dems lost by such small numbers in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, I see no evidence that Dems need to abandon Liberal-Progressive values.
IOWs just copy what Trump has been campaigning on...problem is that is not what the democrats really are, they are for power and a one World government. Obama did noting with his 10 trillion dollar spending spree to help inner city jobs. And that does not resonate with the American people.
If those 15k voters were to get real jobs in the near future, they and their families will vote Trump in 2020. Not so easy then eh? I'll take a "tiny win" any day, a win is a win. Let's say you're in a million dollar race and you win by .001 of a second who get's the million?
Yeah. Right. You'll be riven by civil war as the Bernie wing slugs it out with the Clintonistas for control of the party, even having TEAR Party extremists primarying "moderate sell-outs". Everyone will love The Trumpster, who will retire on a massive wave of support after one term, setting up The Pence for two terms. Section 1. Policy. It is the policy of the United States to alleviate unnecessary regulatory burdens placed on the American people. Sec. 2. Regulatory Reform Officers. (a) Within 60 days of the date of this order, the head of each agency, except the heads of agencies receiving waivers under section 5 of this order, shall designate an agency official as its Regulatory Reform Officer (RRO). Each RRO shall oversee the implementation of regulatory reform initiatives and policies to ensure that agencies effectively carry out regulatory reforms, consistent with applicable law Sec. 3. Regulatory Reform Task Forces. (a) Each agency shall establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force Getting the boot of Washington off the neck of the working/middleclass that actually does the WORK in America. https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-pres...tive-order-enforcing-regulatory-reform-agenda Most of these agencies have mountains of regulations and it may take the entirety of Trumps first term to go through them all. The order directs these task forces to examine their regulations with an eye toward weeding out ones which, eliminate jobs, or inhibit job creation. They are also asked to identify regulations which are, outdated or ineffective and to conduct cost-benefit analysis on regulations as well. These Regulatory Reform Task Forces might better serve the public if they were composed of outsiders or at least people from a different department than the one under review. If they dont start producing results by this summer, that might be a course of action to consider. http://hotair.com/archives/2017/02/25/executive-order-watch-the-regulatory-reform-agenda/
Agree there on all 3, but highlighted #3 for that Democratic song that has not yet achieved anything. Sure, Democrats have been politically in control of most large US cities (for decades), but is there any Democratically-controlled inner city that is not in poverty, corruption, violence, murders, drugs, and dismay?
The stock market is up 14% since Trump victory. My guess is those that agree with your predictions are broke.
