In a country of 300+ million people, you might think a small fraction of number such as Hollywood is, would have a tad of humility, some class, some respect for citizens of the US, our duly elected president & our democratic election process as they prance up on stage their designer clothes and receive "awards" for ACTING! And a few did. But, they'll be far overshadowed by Kimmel and the far left who graced the stage at the Oscars, which was complete mess. And, Hollywood's far left screed follows the pattern of the MSM and the Sanders wing of the socialist democrat's, who seem to support anything the rest of America don't. So be it, but they are losing at the local level, the State level and the national level! That's good for the country, but why these pinheads continue to ignore their arrogance & remain selfish, demeaning, hateful toward unity is disturbing.

You're losing Lib's. On every front, honesty, tolerance, respect, discourse, national security, etc..... you're losing. Lose the hate, you'll feel better & just might gain some traction.

The self-congratulatory nature of these arrogant leftists have progressively (chuckle) turned off the rest of the nation; but still they will not change their ways even as their ratings plummet, because that's all that they know HOW to do . . . be self-congratulatory in their rank arrogance. At this point they are only glad-handing one another.

Maybe if they shut up and stick to entertaining us we'd keep throwing money at them.

They're just slitting their own throats, and they're too self-important to notice.

:roflol: ^^^Total meltdown. It's so fun watching republicans try to justify their actions through excuses, but constantly belittle Dems as if everything is their fault. Your boy is in now, but seriously what has he accomplished? Each time he opens his mouth he constantly divides this country. Your side is even getting tired of his antics. It's his way or the highway and this country isn't built on that. Enjoy Trump TV. The ratings are falling hard.

Almost 40% of Americans are Conservative ,,, fewer than 7% admit to being Liberal Progressives. While it's hard to fire up a plurality of voters ,,, they on their own accord will decide that subsidizing people who hate them will not move the country forward. I refuse to tune in networks that give voice to purveyors of Fake News and hate mongering Hollyweirdos. I guess I'm not alone.

For some unknown reason, liberals no longer try to make an argument for what they're for. My impression is that they're for open borders, for men using the women's bathroom, for having partisans who think and vote their way on issues sitting on court benches (rather than having people concerned with citing what the law says about things), for pushing through ill conceived legislation like the brilliant ACA, etc. So as it turns out, I'm just fine with Dems losing across the board. They just had eight years to show us what they could do, and I have to say I am not impressed in the least (and neither, it seems, are a good many of my fellow Americans). So now they want to spend all their time telling us how terrible Donald Trump is doing. Really? Forgive me for being skeptical...

I use to watch the Oscars. Actor's had class, humility & seemed almost embarrassed to accept. Not anymore. Now, they're arrogant, some angry, and most seem more concerned about the attendees approval than they do about the folks buying seats in the theaters.

Yep, there's some of them who'll be selling their Oscar on Ebay in the next few years if they don't wise up.

Precisely. This past Sunday they were so focused on being Social Justice Warriors that they collectively made a pig's ear of the entire proceedings. They awarded either the best movie or the best actor's award to the wrong entity and then had to take it back. That doesn't happen if your mind is on business rather than on monkey-business. It has now become a yearly . . . farce of leftists for leftists so that leftists can feel good about themselves in a smugly condescending manner.

See? Trump is already making America great.

That being said, perhaps the only thing more silly than self congratulatory awards is being happy when receivership of them declines. It is like being shallow about being shallow.

No, you're not alone. The farther left progressives resort to the more distance they'll put between themselves and the moderate left, the center and the right. And, if what happened at the DNC meeting over the weekend is any indication, i'd say they're really headed that direction. Rage & hate isn't inspiring to most American's.

Just a few things. 1) it seems like there wasn't a lot of buzz for the Oscars. I think Trump is sucking up their column inches and 2) the 13% in the 18-49 basically is useless in the overnights. That is DVR country. Overnights are down across the board for pretty much every non-sports program. It is why nielsen is starting to factor in things like social media discussions, online viewing and holding open longer ratings windows. The more important # is how many watch a program the first week it airs regardless of how that viewing goes down.

I periodically record things I will never watch all of or any of. For instance, state of the union addresses so that the day after when one side is saying they said X and the other side is saying no they didn't say X, I can just look for it if need be. That said, my sister has to DVR everything in prime time if she ever wants to see it because of her hours and her internet sucks too bad for frustration free streaming. She works from like 2pm to 10:30 pm usually but she may have to go in hours early of stay hours late depending on what they are doing that day and which link in the chain she occupies that day and what broke down.

Yeah. I get that people do DVR lots of stuff, I've just never known anyone who had an urge to DVR the oscars.

I don't even think I've ever had a conversation about it with anyone.

When I was a kid I think my mom used to tape them on the VCR. TBH, I didn't even know it was Oscars time until the day of and it started trending on twitter. Not sure if I wasn't paying attention or if there was no hype this year.

What has Trump accomplished? Every day he deletes a piece of Obama from the country. Everything he has done poll above 50%. And he's not dividing the country, you just see more and mire liberals showing their hate and intolerance.

But speaking of the Oscars, do you have any thoughts about people who represent everything you leftists claim to hate? These people make more than 99.99% of the average company CEO. Where is your consistency in being intolerant?

    I haven't watched the Oscars since 1981.

The academy awards ratings have been going down since 2014. The 2015 and 2016 award shows actually represented an even bigger drop than 2017

    2015 was a 6.4 million rating drop, 2016 was a 2.9 million rating drop, and 2017 was a 1.5 million rating drop.
