Looks like someone leaked parts of Trump's 2005 Tax return. If I were Trump, I would sue. http://www.businessinsider.com/rachel-maddow-trump-tax-returns-david-cay-johnston-msnbc-2017-3 I am sure this will be headline news for the next few days. BTW, he made a lot of money and paid a ton in taxes that year. So much for the "Trump never pays taxes" monologue.
True. He's the king of "sue". That's how he's made much of his money. Plus cheating contractors out of pay and starting a "fake" university to line his pockets has also helped his bank account. Hey, he's Donald Trump. The king of con. Very presidential.
There is no one for Trump to sue unless he wants to pay the court costs of the reporters. The first amendment protects their right to publish leaked information that was obtained without solicitation. I still think the most likely source is Trump himself. He released the smallest amount of information from his best year to show that he makes enough money and that he pays at least some taxes, even though the tax rate he paid would be the same as someone making 0.3% of his yearly income. Oh, and the fact that, if he gets his way regarding taxes, he would have paid 25 million less in taxes on a 150 million dollar income.
I hope we find out for sure who released them. To be honest, I don't like information leaked from our government, no matter what party affiliation.
I would personally like our President to be as transparent as possible. And certainly more transparent than Richard Nixon.
The returns show that in 2005 he was well off, but FAR from being the Billionaire he claims to be. Also, anyone care to guess why the so-called president wants the "alternative minimum tax " abolished????? IT COST HIM MONEY.
I don't care if he releases Tax returns or not. He is far from ordinary and has ties all over the world. The media will spin everything and anything way out of control.
Was Obama as transparent as Nixon? WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration in its final year in office spent a record $36.2 million on legal costs defending its refusal to turn over federal records under the Freedom of Information Act, according to an Associated Press analysis of new U.S. data that also showed poor performance in other categories measuring transparency in government. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/mar/14/obama-final-year-us-spent-36-million-records-lawsu/

The question should be why is Trump afraid to do the very thing that every other president in my lifetime has done. What is he hiding?
Maybe he has nothing to hide? Ever thought of that? Maybe, he just doesn't want to. The emphasis that we put on taxes is another bizarre feature of America's political life. I remember when the Left cried about Romney's taxes in 2012. Is this the go-to-"attack" now? Is this how very little the Left is capable of functioning in our government? They can't make a coherent argument so they must scream "taxes"? How sad for the so-called progressive party.
Perhaps the people who watched righty's call for Obama to release every shred of paper that had anything to do with him down to his Kindergarten finger paintings find it amusing that they don't think Trump should do what every other President has done for the last 40 years. Double standard much?
There's no lawful requirement. If the Democratic Party truly cares about this nonexistent "wedge" issue, they should get it passed in Congress. Oh wait, they're probably not going to bother. Why? Because it means nothing. It truly is unique to America. "We care about how rich you are!" I find it so cute, if politically incompetent. Every analysis of why Hillary lost came out to the same thing: She might as well have not even campaigned, since she did so very little of it. People don't want to hear you whining about a tax report.
