And it wasn't because of racism, sexism, bigotry, xenophobia, little green men or even the Russians. It was because Obama's voters said they had enough of his failed policies and didn't want his third term.

But the left will probably continue to blame this on the Russians, on uneducated voters with low IQs, the rich and evil CEOs, or any number of other potential excuses. But the left's own think tank claims Obama's voters bailed out on him. Now I ask you, why?

The task of explaining why the Left lost is accomplished by detailing everything that the Left is, represents, stands for, and embodies.

Let these fools waste their time trying to make excuses for all of that.

If they think they lost a lot of voters due to the bad taste Obama left in the nation's mouth just wait till they witness the next election(s).

All the rioting, the terrorist attacks, the racism, the hate crimes, the bigotry, the suppression of free speech, the conspiracy theories, the fake news, I could go on and on and on.

The Left has lost 2018 and 2020.

Cant be right. Hillary herself said she lost because of misogyny.

The left didn't get it when they started losing government seats 2 years after Obama was elected, and the more seats they lost in ensuing elections the more they doubled down on the things that caused them to lose elections.

Yah the party who's got more votes for the whitehouse 6 out of 7 times is clearly out of touch with the people

Hillary lost because it's normal for the Presidency to change parties after 8 years. If Trump is healthy and runs again in 2020 he will win. Then the Democrats will have the Presidency for the next eight years. If Trump doesn't run in 2020 then the Dem candidate should win with a narrow margin of electoral college votes.

Hillary didn't lose because people were tired of Obama's policies. Hillary didn't lose because she's a liar, crook, a lousy candidate, and a generally despicable person. She did win the popular vote, didn't she?

The OP doesn't say that she did, either. I can't link the thread from here, but that's what she's said.

Funny. And a load of crap too.

Hillary lost because Trump stole away a lot of her blue collar white male base.

And also because the Negro vote did not turn out.

    That's why.

True in Dubya's case however he was slammed by a Wall Street melt-down.

True in WJ Clinton's case however he was slammed by a Polish girl who did not wash her dresses.

Not true in the Reagan-GHW Bush case as GWH was viewed as a 3rd Reagan term.

    Carter only served one term.

Ford only served a partial term. But if you look and Nixon-Ford together then it seems like it, yes -- after 8 years.

Tricky Dick only served 1 1/2 terms.

LBJ only served 1 1/3 terms. But if you look at Kennedy-Johnson together then it seems like it, yes -- after 8 years.

Kennedy unfortunately was gunned down in office.

True in Ike's case but mostly because Tricky Dick did not look good on tv.

True in Truman's case but only after 20 years of continuous DEM rule in The White House. If you look at Roosevelt-Truman then definitely not true at all.

So I would say there is no really conclusive trend on this, just a lot of flopping around, sometimes 3 terms in Reagans case, sometimes 5 terms in FDR's case.

The Repubs won. If Trump hadn't been a candidate some clown like Bush or Christie or Cruz would have won. The Dem candidate was a sure loser.

I think running a crappy, lying crooked candidate had something to do with it, but I praise the good lady....

That's a good point. These folks seem very self-entitled and think they deserve victory even when they dumped Hillary for Obama and than ran her at this late hour when she showed a real lack of mastering for even standing upright consistently without collapsing. This time in the wilderness for reassessing will do them good.

The Dems lost for three reasons:
A flawed candidate. She was under criminal suspicion. Doesn't matter whether you think she should have been or whether it was fair, she still was. And she had no message except "I'm not Donald Trump", sprinkled with the promise to women to give us a few things we'd already won.
Extreme ideas. The average American does not relate to transgender bathrooms, unlimited immigration, and abortion on demand.
The Dems tried to shout us down, calling us names, sneering, yada yada. That might silence people, but when they get to the ballot box, they will still vote their own conscience. You can't change minds by silencing people.

The article called Trump a populist. Trump is NOT a populist by any stretch of the imagination.

Trump is an economic nationalist who was elect by way of a three faceted Clausewitz foundation.

And because the Left apparently still doesn't understand why Trump won, he will very likely win again in 2020.

    I like this part:

""There's still a real concern that persuasion is harder and costs more than mobilization, so let's just triple down on getting out the people who already agree with us," she said. "And I think there's a lot of worry that we don't actually know how to persuade anymore, and so maybe we should just go talk to the people we agree with."

I wouldn't gloat over 2.8 million votes when over 90 million registered voters DIDN'T vote. Maybe this election will learn you that California and New York can't come to the rescue anymore.

Maybe if you focused on that, plus getting a better candidate, might actually win you a Democrat as POTUS someday.

But go ahead, carry on focusing on those paltry 2.8 million and Russia. That should keep you guys out of contention for anything the next 4 election cycles...

Well let's remember I sure do when Obama and other top Democrats flew to Michigan right before election day when they realized finally they were losing...... and he actually stated he would be personally insulted if the black vote didn't turn out... and for Hillary. Didn't help. They didn't come out

This happened all over the country. Why? All of this supports the OP and it really took top Democratic strategists to figure out the obvious? Obama did nothing for them.

    Period.

    In which state?

Do they hold more government offices at an level, federal, state or local than they did than say 10 years ago?
