I was like a twisted Seymour Skinner in my soul when I couldn't find it on British soil though. - but it really helps to know the name. It's called Matcha. (I'm telling the forum as much as I'm telling me) 'Matcha' (So I learn it and don't ask for Machacha); Matcha... **Editor's note; - I am aware that technically it was on British soil, but, you know what I mean, it being something I've only ever had or seen at a foreign embassy toyed with me a little too, of course, calling it 'Powered Ocha' for 10 years didn't help.

Was it 'frothy'? I'm scared that, if I buy it, and make it, it won't be frothy... So much so (this fear of mine about home brewing it) that a couple of Matcha bars have caught my eye too. -But you've tried and made it yourself, so I ask; was it frothy? Did you whisk it?

I didn't whisk it because I didn't know you were supposed to as the instructions were ALL in Japanese. Apparently you can whisk it just as successfully with a fork, without the need to buy a special tool. I haven't had a cup yet today but, when I do, I will use a fork.

I prefer to believe the Pirates of the Caribbean sold Latin American produced coffee to the American colonies cheaper than the Brits could sell their tea. Also providing goods the mother country did not, such as coffee. Very interesting book for a different perspective. Before I found this book I was aware that coastal cities of the southern colonies fenced the pirates' goods. And anyone aware of the Pirates Code as us kids from the fifties were, knew they elected a captain, and could likewise unelect him. Also a disability policy of payment for disabling wounds. All worked out. A hand was worth so much, an eye, etc. The book linked above made me think, "How Jewish" the pirates code was and things made more sense. Yo Ho Ho.

Omg! Are you serious? The smell of freshly boiled coffee in the morning is like the most beautiful thing there is.
All these new sorts of "tea" that are available at coffee shops such as "chai lattes" and whatnots that hipster-like college-students and other tasteless idiots like to pour down their faces are absolutely awful. I must say. It is the epithome of a little girl's drink. Cute colour and ridiculously sweet. Ew.
